1921 – 2017
Camiel passed away peacefully on August 31st, 2017 at 96 years of age. Mass will be held in Legal, AB on Sept 7th, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Catholic Church.
Greta Irene Meadus
On Sunday, September 27, 2020, Mrs. Greta Meadus passed away peacefully at the Wainwright Long Term Care Facility, Wainwright, Alberta at the age of 79 years.
Greta is survived by her loving family; her children, Alice (Andrew) Wright of Edgerton, Alberta, Wally Rowe of Barrie, Ontario, Sunday Edwards of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Peter Rowe (Terry) of Mannville, Alberta, Wendy Rowe of Hamilton, Ontario, Charlie (Paisly) Rowe of Oro, Ontario; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brother Ray Claude (Carol) Meadus. She is predeceased by her son, Guy Rowe; and brothers, Les and Guy Meadus.
In keeping with Greta's wishes no formal services will be held at this time. If so desired, the family suggests any memorial contributions made in Greta's name be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
Erwin Fredrick Rudolph Repp
Born: Sun May 14, 1922
Died: Mon Mar 26, 2012
Erwin Repp passed away on March 26, 2012 at the Stettler Health Care Centre. He was born on May 14, 1922 at Gross Nossin, Germany and moved to Canada in 1924, he has lived in the Stettler area all his life.
Predeceased by his father Walter and his mother Luisa and his sister Hilda Holst. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years Rosemarie; his son Doug (Bev) Repp of Calgary; daughter Debbie Novak of Red Deer; grandchildren: Tara (Rayall) Bebee of Thorsby, Warren (Vicki) Repp of Stettler and Tannis (Scott) Assmus of Calmar; 5 great grandchildren; sister Dora Sharpe of Stettler; brother in law John Wittwer of Stettler; sisters in law Marguerite Baugh of Stettler, Hattie Meyers of Calgary and Linda Therou of Seattle, WA; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Erwin farmed for most of his life in the Pilot Knob district until his retirement in 1992 when they moved into the town of Stettler. However, Erwin was probably better known for his musical talent. You could hear him playing at country dances, festivals, at the Old Time Country Music Jamboree that he put on for 20 years with sold out crowds and for the last twelve years playing once a month at the senior’s lodges in Stettler. Erwin’s love of music touched many people and in turn made many new friendships. He will be sadly missed by all that he has known.
WALTER DUSZA
1937 – 2017
It is with heavy hearts that the wife and family of Walter Dusza said their goodbyes after his passing on August 30th – 2017. The funeral was held on Wednesday, September 6th at the Clyde Hall followed by internment at the Halach Cemetery.
The youngest son for Nicholas and Mary Dusza, Walter grew up in a large family of ten children and spent all of his 80 years on the Dusza homestead in the Nestow – Halach area. He married Cecilia Barabas on July 31st – 1959 and with the exception of working away from home for a few winters, they enjoyed living in this friendly farming area and made many life-long friends. Walter was extremely proud to have served as Westlock County Division 5 councillor for a total of twelve years.
He worked hard at their farming operation, loved the animals and took great pride in having a tidy yard-site. Walter and Cecile did not have children of their own, they had a multitude of nieces and nephews who loved to visit and spend time with them. Family was always important to Walter and their home has always been the main gathering place. He loved to talk and laugh!
He is survived by Cecile, his devoted wife of 58 years; one sister and husband – Stella and Steve Stodola; one brother and wife – Ed and Annette Dusza; sister-in-laws - Mildred Dusza -Mary Dusza and Anne Dusza as well as one brother-in-law – Dave Travers.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, two sisters, five brothers, two nieces and two nephews.

Rex Verney Shuckburgh
1913 - 2014
Mr. Rex Shuckburgh passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014 at the age of 101 years. He was born in Stettler on March 28, 1913 to William and Dorothy Shuckburgh. As he grew, he attended school at the Silver Prairie School and finished in Stettler. He was married to June Ferguson in Botha, Alberta on July 31 of 1946 and to this union two children were born. Rex very much enjoyed working the land and raising cattle and he farmed until he retired in 1995. He then moved into Paragon Place in 2006 where he very much enjoyed visiting with his old friends and neighbors. Rex was always very proud to be a part of his community. He was a founding member of the Kinsmen Club of Stettler (1946) and was a member of the Rotary Club for many years. His life of over 100 years was filled with many joys and hardships and through it all Rex always had a kind word and a smile for everyone. He will be missed by everyone who was fortunate to have been a part of his life. Rex is survived by his son Doug (Donita) Shuckburgh, his daughter Audrey Shuckburgh, grandchildren Kevin (Christel) Shuckburgh and Christie (Clint) Greiner, great grandchildren Faith and Cole Shuckburgh and Ava and Summer Greiner. He is also survived by his brother Trevor Shuckburgh of Victoria B.C., and by his sister- in- law Vera Shuckburgh of Edmonton, Alberta. Rex was predeceased by his parents William and Dorothy Shuckburgh his wife June Shuckburgh, sisters Muriel (Charlie) Twiet, Gwen (Emil) Eichhorn, Sylvia (Edsen) Dymond and Vivian (Thomas) Aldchorn and by his brothers Leo Shuckburgh and Richard (Georgina) Shuckburgh. Rex is also predeceased by sisters- in -Law Twyla Shuckburgh, Doris Shuckburgh and Audrey (Joe) Harbison. A memorial service will be held at the end of October and will be announced at that time. Leanna (White) LaRivierre
On Wednesday, November 27, 2019 Leanna (White) LaRivierre of Wainwright, Alberta passed away unexpectedly at her home at the age of 53 years. She is survived by her husband, Joe LaRivierre of Red Deer; her son, Dustin Pashko of Wainwright; two stepchildren, Ryan LaRivierre, Neil (Ashley) LaRivierre and their children, Piper and Sophia; her loving parents, Pete and Sharon Pashko of Wainwright; two sisters, Monica (John) Andersen of Kinistino, Saskatchewan, Junatia Pashko of Wainwright; one nephew and four nieces, Jessica (Mike) , Julianna, Isaiah, Ameilia, Selah; as well as her great niece, Freya. She was predeceased by her infant sisters, Ruth and Rose; maternal grandparents, Harold and Gladys King; paternal grandparents, Nick and Sophie Myshaniuk. A funeral service for Leanna will be conducted on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 3:00 PM from the St. Thomas Anglican Church, Wainwright. Interment will follow in the Wainwright Cemetery. James "Jim" Lake
On Sunday, September 27, 2020 Mr. Jim Lake of Wainwright, Alberta passed away at the Grey Nuns Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 63 years.
He is survived by his loving family; wife, Cathy; three children, Charlene (Mike) Lewis of Airdrie, Alberta, Ryan (Melanie) Lake of Wainwright, Terry Lake of Humboldt, Saskatchewan; seven grandchildren, Mackayla Lewis, Mason Lewis, Emily Lake, Brandon Lake, Tyrell Lake, Harrison Lake, Bailey Lake; brothers and sisters, Murray (Laura) Lake, Donna (Alex) Nichols, Doreen (Jim) Rochford, Ken (Patty) Lake, Debbie (Randy Kellar) Lake; mother-in-law, Josie Laderoute; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Francis (Audrey) Laderoute, Jim (Rose) Laderoute, Janice (Keith) Temple, Delia (Mike) Todd; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Shane; mother, Margaret Lake; father, Ronald Lake; sister, Lorraine Lake, father-in-law, Scotty Laderoute.
A funeral service for family and invited friends will take place on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 2:00 PM from the Royal Canadian Legion, Wainwright. Interment will follow in the Mount Auburn Cemetery. Frederick Harold Baker
Born: Tue Feb 10, 1931
Died: Sun Feb 3, 2013
On the morning of February 3, 2013, Frederick Harold Baker surrendered his soul to God, yearning to "plunge into the sea of light in the world of mysteries". Fred is survived by his wife Jennie, his two sons Larry and Garry Brown, his daughter Traci Baker (Lammerding) , and his grandchildren Matthew, Jaime and Maria Lammerding. He was predeceased by his daughter Maureen Brown. A self-made man, Fred worked hard in whatever endeavor he embraced; from his time as a firefighter, to his success as a salesman and most especially winning top honors in the field of insurance sales. Apart from this he maintained a deep love of horses; racing and equestrian. Though stricken in his closing years, he lived with dignity and acceptance and was grateful for his life. Fred had a great heart and a noble soul, and will be sadly missed by many. Peace be upon thee.
