After completing his MBA one and half years ago, Stew was employed at Trans Canada Energy and taught a management course at the University of Calgary. He was looking forward to finishing his PhD. He loved coaching his hockey team and sharing time with his family, at their many activities. Stew is survived by his best friend and wife, Debbie; and his beloved children Riley, Shea, Grady and Hayley. He is also survived by his parents, Ev and Joe Fairbanks; brother Cal; sister Pam and Marc Bonneau; nieces, Claire and Christine; and his Grandma Vena, all of Calgary. He will also be missed by his in-laws, Joan and Norm Clark of Millarville; and sisters-in-law, Cindy and Jim Roberts of Calgary, Carole and Leroy Goodreau of Pincher Creek; and brother-in-law Bob and Mary Ann Clark of Victoria. Jamie, Samantha, Carley, Brett, Keegan, Josh and Sarah will also miss their Uncle Stew very much. FUCHS -- Robert Carl (Bob). On December 20, 1997, Robert Carl (Bob) Fuchs of Chestermere, Alberta passed away at the age of 57 years. Bob is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Millie of Chestermere, Alberta; a sister Jean (Kirby) Eastwood of Edmonton; four nieces, Shelley, Desiree, Debbie and Darlene; three nephews, Michael, Troy and Brett; his extended family, Andy (Brenda) Bilon, Mary (Gary) Hewitt and Jenny (John) Phillips; also many cousins and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry in 1987 and Johanna in 1994, also one brother Ted in 1971. JENSEN -- J. Carl passed away peacefully after a very fulfilling life on December 21, 1997 at the age of 86 years, joining his beloved wife, Anna Marie, where they will be together forever. He is the loving father of Sven (Ruth), Osa (John "Bud"), Alice (John), Paul (Verna) and Eric (Michelle). Carl is also survived by eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and his brother Johannes in Denmark. KELLY -- Ruth Doris, passed away quietly at the Victoria General Hospital on December 20, 1997 at the age of 83 years. She was born at High Bluff, Manitoba on June 28, 1914. She was predeceased by her daughter Nora on September 21, 1975, and was married to her surviving husband (Robert Harry Kelly) on October 29, 1933. She is also survived by three sons, Robert (Barb), Jim (Rose) and Michael, all of Victoria; also two sisters, Helen Knott (Reg) of Calgary and Grace Beck (Jack) of Summerland, B.C.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother-in-law James A. Kelly (Jean) of Calgary; and two sisters-in-law, Mamie Wilkins (Lloyd, deceased) of Lethbridge and Helen Wilkins (Jim, deceased) of Gabriola Island; and many nieces and nephews. She spent most of her life in Calgary and for the past thirty years enjoyed her winters with her husband in California. She was a long-term member of the Glencoe Club in Calgary and sang in the Calgary Chapter of the Sweet Adelines. She and her generous nature and likeable spirit will be greatly missed by her family and friends. PACKER -- Mrs. Marie Theresa Packer (nee Schwipple), passed away at the George Boyack Nursing Home on December 19, 1997 at the age of 89 years. Marie was born June 5, 1908, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was an avid bowler with the Chinook Golden Age Club. Marie enjoyed traveling throughout the province with her friends, participating in bowling tournaments and was very proud of her accomplishments. She was the loving mother of two sons and a daughter-in-law, C. Gordon and his wife Corinne, and Keith Garry, all of Calgary; two grandchildren, Susan and her husband Bryant Petkau, and Terry Lynn and her husband David Schmidt; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Taryn, Erica, Eden and Evan. She is also survived by a sister Anne Sullivan of Winnipeg. Marie was predeceased by her parents, and a sister Emma Haywood. RISLER -- Mr. Francis (Frank) Robert Risler, beloved best friend and husband of Mrs. Kimberley Risler of Innisfail, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 20, 1997, at the age of 34 years. Frank was born May 11, 1963, in Lethbridge and moved to Calgary in 1965. He later moved with his family to Crossfield and attended school there, as well as Airdrie. After high school, Frank moved to Fort MacMurray for six years where he apprenticed as an industrial electrician. Frank and Kim were married in 1985. In Calgary, Frank enrolled in the Industrial Instrumentation Technology Program S.A.I.T. Following his graduation, he began working for Amoco Canada at the Crossfield gas plant. In 1995, he was transferred to Innisfail. Besides his loving wife, Kim, Frank is survived by a son Anthony, age eight; and four daughters, Brittany, age nine, Laurissa, age seven, Mattison, age four, and Eden, age eighteen months; and his sister-in-law Brandy Paris. He is also survived by his parents, Bill and Dene Risler of Crossfield; and his mother-in-law Elsa Jackson and family; as well as Robert Jackson; two brothers and two sisters and their families, Jim of Airdrie and his sons, Greg and Brad; Maureen and Terry Parkinson of Courtenay, B.C. and their sons, Bill and Michael; Rick and Jennifer Risler of Olds and their daughters, Staci, Jillian and Danielle; and Linda and Tony Backs of Crossfield and their family, A.J., Jayden and Chelsea.
