With great sadness, we announce the passing of our dear brother, Daniel Roy on May 7th, 2015 at the age of 55 years.
Daniel will be missed by many people, including his siblings: Pierre Roy of Edson, Alberta, Irma (Michael) Bradley of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Rene (Sally) Roy of Fairview, Alberta, Luc Roy of Peers, Alberta, Marc (Ann) Roy of Shining Bank, Alberta, Clement (Kimberly) Roy of Edson, Alberta, Helene (Peter) Mochniuk of Wildwood, Alberta, and Matthew Roy of Toad River, British Columbia.
There are numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives left to mourn as well.
Daniel was predeceased by his mother Marcelle Roy in 2012, his father Rosario Roy in 1998 and his eldest sister Johanne (Joe) Carreiro of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
A Prayer Vigil will be held on Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 at 7:00 PM at The Foothills Memorial Chapel in Edson, Alberta with Rev. Kimberly Roy officiating.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Thursday, May 14th, 2015, at 11:00 AM from Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edson, Alberta with Father Gardener, Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Edson, Alberta .
WEEKES (nee Giebelhaus) Edna Martha
April 11, 1925 – October 3, 2014
Edna passed away at the Alpine Summit Senior’s Lodge in Jasper on October 3, 2014 with members of her family at her side.
Edna was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend to many who enjoyed a meal or visit in her home.
Edna’s occupation was as a Home Economics teacher but she did more than teach cooking. She was well-loved and respected and touched the lives of many students throughout the years at the Jasper Senior High School.
Edna was also a big supporter of the local cultural scene, her church, and an avid golfer with her husband Donald.
Edna is predeceased by her husband, Donald, her parents, her sister Mildred Bell and brother Harold Giebelhaus.
Surviving with many loving memories, are her brothers, Reuben and his wife Elsie, Earl and his wife Penny, and her sisters, Ruth Pederson, Dorothy Corser, and Lorraine Frolich and her husband Matt, plus many dear relatives and friends.
A “Celebration of Edna’s Life” will be held at the Jasper United Church on Saturday, November 8th at 1 PM with Rev. Dawn Hermann officiating.
Cremation has already taken place.

Edith Diane (Durr) Bendall
Born: Thu., Mar. 7, 1946
Died: Tue., Oct. 7, 2014
We regret to announce the passing of Edith Diane Bendall of Edson, Alberta on October 7th, 2014 at the age of 68 years.
Edith is survived by her loving daughter Deborah Ann and her husband David McKay of Edson Alberta and their family; son Glen and his son Donavan, son Clark (Amanda) all of Edson, Alberta and daughter Tina (Sid) and their children Cassi, Amelia and Ryley all of Edmonton, Alberta.
Also surviving is her mother Mrs. Martha Durr of Medicine Hat, Alberta and her siblings, sister Dixie (Brad) Becker and family of Edson, Alberta, Bonnie (Harvey) Wolfer and family, Cheryl Unreiner and family and Carol (Grant) McDonald and family all of Medicine Hat, Alberta, and her brothers Wayne Durr and Jessie Durr also of Medicine Hat, Alberta.
There are numerous other relatives and a host of friends left to mourn as well.
Edith was predeceased by her husband Glen in 2005 and her father Christian William Durr in 1974
Funeral services for Edith will take place on Saturday, October 18th, 2014 at 1 PM from the Bethel Pentecostal Family Worship Center with Pastor Larry Tollefson officiating.
Interment to follow in the Glenwood Cemetery where Edith will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Glen.
Brian David Keyes
January 15th, 1947 – October 8th, 2014
IT IS WITH BROKEN HEARTS THAT THE FAMILY OF BRIAN KEYES WISH TO ANNOUNCE HIS PASSING on October 8th, 2014 at age 67 with family and friends at his side.
Brian was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his wife Denise, daughter Ronda Kuhn (Donna), son Ryan Kuhn (Theresa) and his two precious grandchildren Alora and Ashton, his mother Beatrice, sister Evelyne (Bob) Wild, brother Lyle Keyes (Irma), sister Lois (Glenn) Haggart, sister June (Pat) McPhee, brother Doug Keyes (Valerie), sister Gloria (Al) Brady, two sisters – in – law Terry Meek and Jackie Quigley, brother – in – law David (Lynne) Dame, and father – in – law Harry Torp and his aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and one adorable great great niece.
Brian was predeceased by his father Ray in 2001.
A “Celebration of Life” will take place at the Carrot Creek Community Hall, Carrot Creek, Alberta on Saturday, November 8th, 2014 at 2:00 PM.

HOLROYD, Doctor Mavis Marie
Born: Thu., May 16, 1957
Died: Mon., Sep. 1, 2014
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mavis on September 1, 2014 at the age of fifty-seven.
Mavis is survived by her loving husband Dave of Edson, Alberta and her sons Ryan Holroyd (Shu-Wei Su) and Scott (Angela) Holroyd. Also surviving is her mother Wanda Edgecombe of Edson, Alberta and her brother Mervin Edgecombe of Calgary, Alberta.
She was predeceased by her father Alexander Harold “Harry” Edgecombe in 1995.
Mavis graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan in 1982. She practiced as a veterinarian first in Wetaskiwin, and then in the Edson area with her husband Dave where they built a home, established a farm, and raised a family together. Mavis was a passionate animal lover and horsewoman in her private life as well. As a member of the Endurance Riders of Alberta for almost thirty years, she ran many races with her horses. She also made numerous trips into Alberta’s wilderness in the company of her family and friends.
In keeping with Mavis’ wishes, cremation has taken place and a family service will be held at a future date.
