WAGAR Gwenyth Aileen Wagar was born May 21, 1928 near Snowden, Saskatchewan. She passed away peacefully January 10, 2005 with her family by her side. Gwen was predeceased by her husband, Roland Wagar in June of 2003. She is survived by her children, Gail (the late Don Berg), Richard, Wendy, (Don Church), Doug (Wendy), Penny (Bill Luke), Karen (Robert Bean), daughter in law Lourie Wagar and sisters Beryle Johnson and Doris Dyck. Gwen was blessed with ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. After high school, Gwen attended Bible College in Saskatchewan. She moved to Alberta and settled in Red Deer where she lived for nearly 58 years. Gwen graduated from Red Deer College in the Faculty of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, The Red Deer Nursing Home and Michener Centre Dental Clinic until her retirement. She and Roland enjoyed travel abroad and across North America. They spent many winters in Mesa, Arizona where they met a group of people at their church that they fondly called "the gang". They were always anxious to get back on the road to see their winter pals every fall. Both Gwen and Roland were founding members of Living Stones Church and always lived their faith. Nothing gave Gwen more pleasure than the time she spent with her children and their growing families. Although Gwen's illness interfered with her retirement plans, she handled her condition with the same grace and humour she handled her life. She will always be known as a very "classy lady" and a warm and nurturing mother. She will be deeply missed by those who love her. Thank you to the many caregivers that have lightened Gwen's burden at The Richard Parson's Auxiliary Hospital and Bethany Care Collegeside. A special thank you to Harriet Malone who's loving touch and kind words graced Gwen's later years. A celebration of Gwen's life will be held at Living Stones Church (2020 40th Ave) Red Deer on January 13, 2005 at 2:00 p.m.
