MITCHELL, Thelma

MITCHELL Thelma Elizabeth (nee Beswitherick) passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on August 27, 2007. Thelma was born in 1924 at Hummerston, Manitoba where her father was employed by CNR. The family lived in a number of small towns in southern Manitoba. She later moved to Manitou, Manitoba and there met and married Ivan (Mitch) Mitchell. In 1956 Ivan, Thelma and their daughters moved to Alberta where they spent 30 years in Calgary. Thelma spent her time raising her girls. Her door was always open. They retired to Victoria in 1986 where many happy years were spent re-uniting with old friends and making new ones. Thelma spent much of her time playing cards and golfing and most importantly, enjoying frequent visits from her grandson. They returned to Alberta in 1998 to Red Deer. Ivan passed away in 2004 and Thelma moved to Victoria Park Lodge in the spring of 2006. She quickly found a happy home and made many new friends. It was a great joy for her to be here to welcome two baby girls, Alyse and Isabel into the extended family this year. Thelma is survived by three daughters; Judy (Jim) Allan, Joanne Haselden and Terry Mitchell all of Red Deer, dearly loved grandson, Jason Haselden of London, England, brother-in-law, Bob Gugin and sister-in-law, Marge Young both of Manitoba and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Ivan Mitchell, sister, Helen Gugin and parents, Rob and Cassie Beswitherick. The family would like to thank Dr. Begley and the nurses on units 32 and 33 for their care and kindness in these final weeks. Thank you also to her friends, including the staff at Victoria Park. There will be no funeral service. The presence of her absence is everywhere.

PATENAUDE

PATENAUDE Mae Patenaude passed away October 11, 2006 at the Didsbury Hospital at the age of 87 years. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cremona Congregational Church with Reverend Ian Mason officiating. Memorial donations may be made directly to S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance. As a tribute to Mae Patenaude, a tree will be planted in the Heartland Tree Memorial Park, Olds. GOMEZ

GOMEZ Mr. Luis Gomez of Red Deer, met his Lord and Saviour, after passing away on Monday, April 3, 2006 at the wonderful age of 102 and one half years. Luis was born on September 12, 1903 at Mexico City. He immigrated to Canada with his wife, Alicia in 1975 to be close to their daughter, Lou. Luis loved life and music. His hobbies included painting, photography, watching videos of his beloved Mexico, beating his daughter at a game of chess and participating in most of the recreational activities offered by Barrett Place and lastly, The Pines Lodge (Assisted Living) in Red Deer, where he resided. Luis was loved and respected by the Hispanic Community where he made faithful friends; he also made many friends within his adoptive Canadian Country. Luis will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of his family and many dear friends. A Chapter Complete A Page Turned, A Life Well-Lived, A Rest Well-Earned. Luis will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Lou, son-in-law, Richard, grandson, Carlos, two beloved great granddaughters, Cherilynn and Nichole and their mom, Beth. Luis was predeceased by his beloved wife, Alicia in 1988. A Public Praise and Worship Service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820 - 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. A Public Celebration of Luis's Life will be held at the Hispanic Church "Fuente de Vida", 4519 - 53rd Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, April 7, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Red Deer Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta. DALWOOD, Earl

DALWOOD Earl Dalwood passed away on April 2, 2006 at the age of 66 years. Earl was born on March 11, 1940 in Eston, Saskatchewan and moved to Red Deer in 1958. He is lovingly remembered by his 3 children, Correne (Rob) Campagne, Rhonda (Everett) Conway and Tamara Dalwood; 5 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Glenn (Linda) and Clayton (Rose) and his very dear friend Pat Graham and her family. Earl was predeceased by his son Derry, brother Lloyd and both parents. After working for Weyerhaeuser in Drayton Valley for many years, he retired to Red Deer. A Memorial Service will be held at the Moose Hall Lodge, 307 - 37565 Highway 2 South, Red Deer, AB on Friday, April 7, 2006 at 1:00 pm. BERGMANN, After

BERGMANN After a courageous battle with cancer, Karlheinz Bergmann passed away peacefully on April 2, 2006 at the Red Deer Hospice. Born July 21, 1931 in Herrenhagen, Danzig (East Germany), Karl grew up on the family farm. He and his family were forced to flee their home in 1945, and eventually immigrated to Canada in 1952. They worked hard in the sugar beet fields of southern Alberta to fulfill a two year immigration contract, and then moved to Calgary where Karl worked in construction, and later owned his own business. After getting married and starting a family, Karl and Ingrid chose to go farming in Acme and later in Innisfail. They retired from farming in 1993 and moved to town, where Karl continued to pursue his passion for financial ventures. During the past 10 years, he was proud to serve as a director of Capital Mortgage Investment Corporation. Karl always enjoyed a good visit, and we have many wonderful memories of family reunions, parties and visiting with family and friends. Karl is lovingly remembered by his wife and partner of 52 years, Ingrid, children Helga (Doug) Price, Karin (Paddy) Douglas, and Dirk. He was also the proud 'OPA' of Joel, Kim, Robin, Kendra, and Tonay Price, and Parker and Kelty Douglas. Karl is also survived by his sister Ilse Bartel, brother Peter (Hilde) Bergmann, and sister Sybille (Lorne) Gustafson. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 6, at 11:00 am at Innisfail Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at noon at Innisfail United Church (4720 48 Ave), Innisfail. STEWART, Karen

STEWART Karen Leah Stewart of Red Deer, Alberta passed away suddenly in Red Deer on March 31, 2006 at the age of 49 years. Karen was born and raised in Red Deer. She enjoyed gardening, working with stained glass, canning, sewing, traveling and renovating her home. Whenever spare time allowed, she liked to spoil her baby grandson Deacon Allan. At the time of her passing, Karen was employed with Dentooms Greenhouses of Red Deer enjoying what she loved best, working with plants and flowers. Karen will be lovingly remembered by her husband Allan (Stewy) and her mother Bernice Johnson. She is also survived by two daughters Charity (Greg) and Jamie (Mark); her faithful pet and companion Jade and one grandchild Deacon Allan; one brother Spencer, all of Red Deer, Alberta; two sisters Elaine of Sherwood Park, Alberta and Linda of Kelowna, B.C.. Also to cherish her memory are numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. Karen was predeceased by her father William Johnson, one brother Philip and son Jeremy Stewart. A Funeral Service for Karen Leah Stewart will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at 1 pm from the Chapel of the Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287-67A Street, Red Deer, Alberta with Brenda Watts, Funeral Celebrant officiating. Memorial donations in memory of Karen may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Central Alberta Chapter, 4322-52nd Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4N 4J9. REGNIER, Daniel

REGNIER Daniel Joseph Regnier passed away at the age of 81 following a lengthy illness. He is survived by his four daughters, Corinne (Garth) Wood, Judy (Dick) Opdendries, Pauline (Roger) Armstrong, Diane (Serge) Hamel, and by eight grand- children. Dan was born in Edam, Saskatchewan February 13, 1925 in a family of nine children. He served in the Canadian Army and then farmed and worked in the Edam area until he moved to Red Deer in 1967. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. At Dan's request there will not be a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alberta Kidney Foundation.

RANGER, Daryl

RANGER Daryl Stacy 1974 - 2006 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daryl, dearest loving husband of Janet (Gallant). Daryl passed away peacefully at the Agape Manor Hospice on Saturday, April 1, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Daryl was born in Red Deer, Alberta and raised on a farm. He graduated from River Glen High School before attending Red Deer College. In 1996 Daryl moved to Calgary to study at the University of Calgary. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1998 and completed his Chartered Accountant designation while working for Price Waterhouse Coopers LLP in Calgary. It was here that Daryl met his future wife Janet and developed many lifetime friendships. Daryl absolutely loved his family and friends. His passions included traveling, playing chess, and spending time with family and friends over a cup of coffee. Daryl was truly a wonderful person with a fabulous laugh and zest for life. He lived his life with such kindness, integrity and compassion that his spirit and love will live on in all who had the pleasure to know him. Daryl was dearly loved and will forever be missed by his parents Raymond (Evelyn) Ranger and June Ranger ( Victor Scott), his brother Jason (Shawn) and their children Makayla, Jordan and Dawson, his step-sisters Melanie (John) Goosens and their family Connor and Kory, and Malory Gessleman. He will also be remembered by his step-brothers Mitch (Fonda) Gessleman and Levi Scott, his grandmother Elizabeth Brown, his mother and father-in-law Vince and Dini Gallant, sister and brother-in-law Danielle Gallant and Jean-Paul Gallant. Daryl was predeceased by his grandparents Lanora and Gaston Ranger, and his grandfather Louis Rhine. Daryl's family express their sincere thanks to the staff of the Agape Manor Hospice for their tremendous support.
