GIBSON - 1921- 2007 - Jack Edwin Gibson beloved husband of Mrs. Vera Gibson of Red Deer passed away peacefully, on Friday, December 7, 2007, at the age of 86 years. Jack was born on January 18, 1921 at Estevan, Saskatchewan. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Vera of Red Deer, a son, Randy Gibson of Taber, Alberta, two daughters, Donna Young (Lou) of Innisfail, Alberta, Lynn Gibson of Calgary, Alberta, four step-children, Ted Krossa (Silva) of Mirror, Pat (Wayne) Hunt of Creston, British Columbia, Shellbea (Brad) Paulsen of Endiang, Alberta, Rose (Stan) Hand of Ponoka and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jack was predeceased by his first wife, Corre, a son Dale, his father, Orine and his mother, Lillian. A Funeral Service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Alto-Reste Cemetery. STERLING - 1924 - 2007 - Mrs. Betty Jane Sterling, beloved wife of the late Mr. George Arthur Sterling of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at Harmony House, Red Deer, on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at the age of 83 years. Betty is survived by, a son, Gary Sterling of Red Deer, a daughter, Shauna McLennan of Fort McMurray, three grandchildren, Elias George Sterling of Vancouver, Darren McLennan of Toronto and Duane McLennan of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband, George Arthur Sterling. A Funeral Service will be held at Living Stones Church, 2020-40 Avenue RR3, Red Deer on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Betty’s honour may be made directly to the charity of ones choice. HALLET

HALLET - 1925 - 2007 - Mr. Edward William Hallet, predeceased by the love of his life, Orme "Mac" Hallet of Red Deer, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 1, 2007, at the age of 82 years. Ed was born on August 16, 1925 at Hardisty, Alberta. He looked forward with eager anticipation to all family gatherings. He enjoyed fast ball, not only as a player, but as an umpire and fan. Ed had many interests, bowling, coaching, calling bingo and of course being the number 1 supporter and fan of his grandchildren's activities. Ed was an avid Rebels, Queen's and minor hockey fan. Ed was a dependable community volunteer and very active in his Church. He performed for many productions with the Central Alberta Theater in his earlier years. A kind and gentle friend of all people and animals. Ed is survived by seven children, Joanne (Elton) Kelln of Sherwood Park, Louise (Donald) Lee of Pakistan, Terry (Debbie) Hallet of Calgary, Bill Hallet of Red Deer, Carol (Rick) Severson, Laura (Graham) Moore all of Red Deer, Val Hallet of Edmonton, sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He will also be greatly missed by Laura and John May of Sherwood Park, special friend Iris Meeres of Red Deer, a brother, Carl (Sandy) Birks and family, two sisters, Mary (Emile) Bernard of Westlock and Margaret Coffin of Sherwood Park. Ed was also predeceased by his father, Thomas Louis, his mother, Mary Hallet, two brothers, Louis Hallet, John (Grace) Hallet and a nephew, Robert Hallet. A Prayer Service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer on Sunday, December 9, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass in celebration of Ed's Life will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508-48A Avenue, Red Deer on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. An Interment will be held on Tuesday December 11. McTAVISH

(KANTEN) McTAVISH - 1920 - 2007 - Mrs. Iva (Kanten) McTavish of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at the age of 87 years. Iva will be lovingly remembered by her second husband, Gordon McTavish; and her children, Ken (Joan) Kanten; and Deborah (Larry) Kobza, both of Red Deer. She will also be lovingly remembered by two grandchildren, Nicole (Jeff) Lechelt; and Scott (Angie) Kobza; as well as four great grandchildren. Iva was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Kanten. A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Iva's Life will be held at the Liberty Christian Assembly, 6315 Horn Street, Red Deer on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. A Family Interment Service will take place in the Innisfail Cemetery, Innisfail. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. ROSGEN, Peter

ROSGEN - Peter Allen Rosgen passed away peacefully on the 31st of August, 2007 after a long battle with brain cancer, at the age of 62. Peter was predeceased by his father Wilfred in 1985. He is survived by his wife Barbara; mother Marie; children Mark (Brandi), Greg (Lynnette), Bradford, Kate and David (Meagen); sisters Lorraine (Bob) Gillis, Sharon (Tom) Seaborn and Dianne (Jack) Lowe; mother of his children Anne Rosgen. Peter also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Braelynn, Rhett and Alexa. A celebration of his life will be held at St Anne of the Prairies, Roman Catholic Church in Trochu, Alberta, Saturday, September 8th, 2007 at 11am, reception to follow at the Trochu Baptist Fellowship Centre. Prayers will be held Friday, September 7th at 7:30pm at St Anne of the Prairies. Memorial tributes in Peter's honor may be made to the Kneehill Ambulance or to Three Hills Palliative Care. HAMILL

HAMILL - Mr. Bernard Hamill of Penhold, AB, passed away with family by his side at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, September 2nd, 2007. His memory will be cherished by Peggy his beloved wife of forty-seven years; his sons, John (Susie), Bernie (Angela) as well as his daughter, Mary (Gerald) Beally. Bernard's memory will be further cherished by his beloved grandchildren: Katie (Will), Matthew, Joey, Jocelyn, Natalie, Mark, Julie and Anna. His sisters, Sr. Mary Hamill, Bella Hamill as well as his sister-in-law Hilda Hamill will miss him dearly. Bernard will also be remembered by his niece, Marie (Tom) Thrall, his nephew, Jim (Charlene) Hamill and extended family. Everyone who enjoyed Bernard's company over a daily coffee will dearly miss him, especially his dear friend Don Cruickshank and his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Madge and Bernard as well as his brothers: Henry, Jim and John. At this time of pain and loss it is comforting to know we will support and love one another, as Bernard so well taught all of us through his example in being a member of such a loving family. LADWIG, Fred

LADWIG, Fred - 1942 - 2007 - Frederick Paul Ladwig went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, August 31 at the age of 65 years. Fred was born at Broadview, Saskatchewan to Fred and Margery Ladwig. Fred is survived by his loving wife Sandra, his children Susan Hocken (Dean), his son Fred Jr. (Norma-Jean), his step children Tricia, Barry and Jody Pope and his special and wonderful grandchildren Freddie & Derick Ladwig, Sierra & Hailey Hocken, and Bradley Pope. Fred is also survived by his sisters Jo-Anne (Ken) Wigmore and Jacquie (Ken) Fargey, by his nieces and nephews, Tammi-Jo Wigmore, and Chris (Teresa) Wigmore, Michael, Brooke and Bailee, and by his brothers-in-law George (Pat) Butler and Wayne Doan and cousin Tom Shearer. Fred was predeceased by his parents Fred and Margery and his son William (Billy). Fred has owned and operated Central Alberta Paint & Supply Ltd. (CAPS) and Ladwig's Automotive Ltd. for several decades. Numerous loyal and loving friends will recount memories of their long association with Fred. He will be greatly missed by his many friends at the "Alberta Pattern Dancers" where he danced three evenings a week. Funeral Services will be held at Crossroads Church (southwest corner of 32 Street and Highway 2) on Friday, September 7th at 1:00 p.m. Lunch will follow the service at the Crossroads Church. Family and friends are asked to drive their Hot Rods to the Crossroads Church as a tribute to Fred. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that anyone wishing to make a donation send their wishes to Knox Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund. RYAN (LOUGHLIN) - 1943 - 2007 - Maureen Fay Ryan, of Lethbridge unexpectedly passed away, with Lisa, Shannon and Therese by her side, at the Foothills General Hospital, Calgary, on Monday, September 3, 2007, at the age of 63 years. Maureen was born on December 20, 1943 at Red Deer, Alberta. She is survived by two daughters and their families, Lisa (Mark) Taggart and their children, Delaney and Sara all of High River, Alberta, Shannon (Billy-Joe) Chrapko and their children, Shawna, Tyler and Mackenzie all of Stirling, Alberta, her mother, Fay Loughlin of Edmonton, a sister Therese (Len) Erickson, six brothers, Dennis (Rosanna) Loughlin, Ted (Terri) Loughlin, Michael Loughlin, Terry Loughlin, Ron Loughlin, Pat (Shasi) Loughlin, sixteen nieces and nephews. Maureen was predeceased by her father, John and a brother, Robert. A Prayer Service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer on Friday, September 7, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508-48a Avenue, Red Deer on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta. EASTMAN -1915- 2007 - Mrs. Vera Eastman passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, August 26, 2007. Vera was born on December 13, 1915 at Vancouver, British Columbia. RODWAY, Theresa

RODWAY - Theresa Leona Rodway (nee Robitaille) of Red Deer passed away at the Rimbey Hospital on Friday, August 1, 2007 at the age of 90 years. Theresa was born in Parry Sound, Ontario on November 15, 1916. She came to Red Deer in 1954 and in 1956 she married Ernest Arthur Rodway and has resided in Red Deer ever since. Theresa is survived by one son, Arthur and his wife, Roberta, one daughter, Marie and two grandchildren; James and John. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest in 2001. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (5508 - 48A Avenue) on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Paul Kavanagh Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Red Deer Cemetery.

MITCHELL, lma

MITCHELL - Thelma Elizabeth (nee Beswitherick) passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on August 27, 2007. Thelma was born in 1924 at Hummerston, Manitoba where her father was employed by CNR. The family lived in a number of small towns in southern Manitoba. She later moved to Manitou, Manitoba and there met and married Ivan (Mitch) Mitchell. In 1956 Ivan, Thelma and their daughters moved to Alberta where they spent 30 years in Calgary. Thelma spent her time raising her girls. Her door was always open. They retired to Victoria in 1986 where many happy years were spent re-uniting with old friends and making new ones. Thelma spent much of her time playing cards and golfing and most importantly, enjoying frequent visits from her grandson. They returned to Alberta in 1998 to Red Deer. Ivan passed away in 2004 and Thelma moved to Victoria Park Lodge in the spring of 2006. She quickly found a happy home and made many new friends. It was a great joy for her to be here to welcome two baby girls, Alyse and Isabel into the extended family this year. Thelma is survived by three daughters; Judy (Jim) Allan, Joanne Haselden and Terry Mitchell all of Red Deer, dearly loved grandson, Jason Haselden of London, England, brother-in-law, Bob Gugin and sister-in-law, Marge Young both of Manitoba and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Ivan Mitchell, sister, Helen Gugin and parents, Rob and Cassie Beswitherick. The family would like to thank Dr. Begley and the nurses on units 32 and 33 for their care and kindness in these final weeks. Thank you also to her friends, including the staff at Victoria Park. There will be no funeral service. The presence of her absence is everywhere.
