WILLIS - 1946 - 2006 - Judith "Barbara" Willis of Red Deer, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at the age of 60 years. Barbara was born on June 11, 1946 at Hilda, Alberta and grew up in Hilda and Medicine Hat, Alberta. Barbara worked at the Michener Centre for a number of years and very much enjoyed her work there. She will be sadly missed by her close friend, Gordon Moore and her beloved Mitzi. Barbara leaves to mourn her loss, her daughter, Karen Hagen (Dan) of Montreal, Quebec and her sister, Elaine Walsh (Kenneth) of Red Deer. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Lillian Fredericks. WOODROW, Alice Ellen - Mrs. Alice Ellen Woodrow, beloved wife of Mr. Allan Woodrow of Red Deer, passed away suddenly at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at the age of 70 years. Alice was born on October 30, 1934 on the Family Homestead at Pine Lake, Alberta. She grew up on the farm at Pine Lake and attended the Bellgrove School. Alice was a loving and gracious lady who devoted her life to her family and helping others. Her life was centered around caring for the family she loved, looking after her home and working on the farm. Alice had a heart of gold, she always welcomed each guest into her home with her special warmth and hospitality. She always enjoyed going for coffee with friends at Patty's Family Restaurant where they would share good times together. Her favorite hobbies were gardening, knitting and playing cards. Alice had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She had a special place and love in her heart for animals. She adored and treasured all of her furry and feathered friends, from her fancy birds to her prized blue cow collection. Alice will be sorrowfully missed but lovingly remembered forever in the hearts of her family and dear friends. Alice leaves to mourn her loss, her loving children, sons, Chuck (Gladys) of Penhold, Keith (Brenda) of Red Deer and Steve (Edie) of Blackfalds, her daughter, Donna (Norman) of Red Deer, her grandchildren, Tammy (Trevor) of Blackfalds, Barbara and Jessica of Red Deer, Lee of Blackfalds and Patricia (Patrick), Darlene, Heather and Carl, all of Red Deer and her great grandchildren, Donavan and Xander, both of Red Deer. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters, Florence (Don) Guthrie of Belwood, Ontario, Norma (Bruce) Hasti of Trochu, Alberta and Beth (Orville) Van Slyke of Sylvan Lake, Alberta and her brother, Percy (Sandy) Denie of Pine Lake, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Alice was predeceased by her father, Charlie Pierce in 1984 and her mother, Daisy Pierce in 1996. A Celebration of Alice's Life will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 4929 - 54th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverend John McKay officiating. BAREHAM, Walter
BAREHAM, Walter - Mr. Walter Clifford Bareham of Penhold, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, November 4, 2004 at the age of 70 years. Walter was born on August 20, 1934 at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. In 1953, he moved to Taber, Alberta and then to Red Deer in 1964. He worked at Travelaire Canada in Red Deer from 1966 until 1977 and then went into the Construction Industry, where he worked until his retirement in 1998. Walter enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to play pool. He especially enjoyed the challenge of beating his opponent at pool. Walter will be very sadly missed but lovingly remembered in the hearts of his family and dear friends. Walter leaves to mourn his loss, his son, Vern (Evelyn) Bareham of Eckville, his daughter, Cindy (Neil) Lemley of Picture Butte, Alberta and their families. Walter will also be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, Doug, Harold, Steve, Wayne, Dale, Darrell, Bryan, Bernice, Jackie, Peggy, Sharon, Linda and Charlotte, as well as numerous other relatives and good friends. Walter was predeceased by his step-father, Larry, his mother, Mona, his father, Herbert, a son, Clifford on December 17, 1983 and his wife, Dixie. HARRINGTON, Erin - February 26, 1961 - November 1, 2004
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Erin Jane Harrington at the age of 43 years of age in Strathmore, Alberta. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Jennifer Muir of Calgary, her sisters Wendy Niemetz of Red Deer, Shauna Kenworthy (Fred Carr) of Strathmore, her brother Tim Harrington (Donna) of Calgary and sister Cathy Duford of Red Deer. She was loving Auntie Jane to Amanda Harrington, Bret and Tom Kenworthy and Adam and Kaylyn Niemetz. She was pre-deceased by her parents Bob and Carol Harrington. Erin was a very warm and articulate lady who loved the outdoors and had a special flair for renovating and decorating. She touched many lives and will be remembered for her gentle compassionate nature, her incredibly quick wit and a beautiful sense of grace and strength that stayed with her until the end. The family would like to thank Dr. David Piesas and the Acute Care nursing staff at Strathmore Hospital plus the Home Care nurses in Strathmore for their wonderful care and compassion during her illness. At Erin's request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any branch of the S.P.C.A.

BATTLE, Carolyn Grace - Carolyn Grace Battle (nee Steele) of Red Deer, passed away after a courageous fight with cancer at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at the age of 48 years. Carolyn was born on December 29, 1955 at Calgary, Alberta to Keith and Beryl Steele, who immigrated to Canada from Glasgow, Scotland in 1954. Carolyn will be very sadly missed but lovingly remembered by her mother, Beryl and her host of many friends. Carolyn was predeceased by her father, Keith on January 31, 1998. SMITH, Elizabeth Theresa - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Smith of Sylvan Lake passed away on October 19, 2004 in Red Deer, Alberta at the age of 73 years. Mary was born on January 13, 1931 in Vegreville, Alberta. She was married to Harold (Sam) Lenox Smith on June 11, 1952. Mary was predeceased by her parents Joann Smith in 1975 and Paul Smith in 1983, son Miles Allan in 1976, her brothers Oliver in 1992 and Donald in 2000. Mary is survived by her husband Sam of 52 years, children Berverlie (John) Raffa, Donna (Clark) Layden, Carole Gerrard, Garth (Char) Smith, four granddaughters, two grandsons, numerous nieces and nephews and two great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed in the hearts of all who knew her. She was the most warm, compassionate, generous, loving wife, mother and friend. The Funeral Service for the late Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Smith will be held from the Memorial Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 11 A.M. with Reverend Glen Simmonds officiating. CHRISTENSEN, Barbara
CHRISTENSEN - Barbara Christensen passed away in Nanaimo, B.C. on Dec. 3, 2007 at the age of 87. She left to mourn her daughters Elsie, Irene, Shirley (Clint) and Loretta, grandchildren Kelsey (Jenni), Jade (Shelly), Kyle, Kailen Shayla, Brad (Catrina) and Shelley (Tim), son-in-law Denis (Gail), numerous great grandchildren, and a very special friend Jackie. She was predeceased by her loving husband Bill of 40 years, also by her son Kenneth in 1980 and daughters Joyce in 1983 and Barbara Ann in 1984. A memorial service will be held December 7, at 11 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovia's Witness, 11 Bennett St. Red Deer. Interment to follow at Olds Cemetery.

GROSS nee VICZKO - 1955- 2007 - Debra Mae "Deb" Gross, beloved wife of Larry Gross of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, December 2, 2007, at the age of 52 years. Deb was born on July 8, 1955 at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She grew up and was married in 1973 in Pierceland, Saskatchewan. Spending time in Slave Lake, Medicine Hat and Camrose before Deb and Larry settled in Red Deer in 1985. Deb had the entrepreneurial spirit, running a very successful business 'It’s Party Time'. She loved spending time golfing, traveling and gardening. Deb is survived by her loving husband, Larry Gross of Red Deer, son, Jody Gross of Calgary, Alberta, her siblings, Brian (Delphine) Viczko of Hungary/Albania, Berni Viczko (Brian Watson) of Biggar, Saskatchewan, Lori (James) Gross of Innisfail, Alberta, Cheryl Viczko (Rod Simpson) of Red Deer, Alberta, Tony Viczko of Edmonton, Alberta and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by her mother, Pauline, her father, Anton and a brother, Jim.
