PLUMLEY John (Jack) - 1925 - 2006 - John (Jack) Plumley, beloved husband of Ruth Plumley of Cochrane passed away on October 1, 2006 at the age of 81 years, of prostate cancer. Jack was born on February 1, 1925 in Athabasca, AB. He graduated in 1951 from the University of Alberta with a degree in Agriculture and had a long career with the provincial government. Jack had a lifelong love of horses and was a founding member of TRAC. Besides his wife, Jack is lovingly remembered by his three children Evelyn (Steve) Carlyle, Jim (Aldis) and Meg (Gerald); six grandchildren, Rachel, Seth, Jamie, Alex, John and Sarah. He is also survived by two sisters, Norah (Jack) Hook, Lois Mundy, and their families. A private family gathering will be held. RAMAGE, David - 1926 - 2006 - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at the Didsbury Care Centre at the age of 80 years. Dave was born in Edinburgh, Scotland May 19, 1926 and immigrated to Canada at a young age, making his home in Central Alberta. He owned and operated Dave's Sheet Metal both in Red Deer and Calgary. He was a master tin smith for fifty-five years. Dave will be lovingly remembered by his wife Anne of fifty-seven years from Crossfield; daughter Carol Wilkie of Calgary; sons, Kevin (Sylvia) Ramage of Balzac, Andrew (Lori) Ramage of Red Deer; grandchildren, Kyla (Darren), Erin (Jake), Jeremy, Ryan, Niamh, Maitland, Langley and great-granddaughter Hudsyn. He is also survived by his brothers, Allen, Eric, Gordon, Donald and Steve; his sisters Kay Douglas and Ann Ramage; half brother Archie Allen as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Ann and Andrew; brothers Angus and Robert; son-in-law Gene and many half brothers and sisters. KLEMMER - It's with sorrow that we announce the passing Sharon Ann Klemmer (nee Jennings). Mom passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospital October 4th, 2006, at the age of 64 years. She was the youngest of seven children, born on December 7th, 1942 in Trochu, AB. Mom spent most of her childhood in and around the Three Hills area. After her high school years she spent sometime working in the City of Calgary, as well as a few years in Sarnia, Ontario. She then settled back into Three Hills to raise her family. Mom and Dad started Three Hills Light Oilfield and mom later opened a craft store as this was one of her many passions. Getting out of town and heading to Pine Lake was where Mom and Dad like to spend their summers, gathered with family and friends. Three years ago mom's dream came true when they made Pine Lake their home. Sharon was predeceased by her parents Mary and Fred Jennings. Two brothers: Earl Jennings, Bill Jennings and two sisters: Pat Evans and Margaret LaRoy. She will be lovingly remembered and missed everyday by her husband Ron Klemmer and her children: Tracie (Alex) Barker, Bill (Robyn) Klemmer, Heather Lowen and Leanne Klemmer. Her grandchildren whom she cherished: Trent Klemmer, Emily, Mackenzie and Ethan Lowen and Shelby Klemmer. Two sisters: Belva (Gordon) Neumiller of Three Hills and Doreen Jennings of Vancouver and numerous nieces and nephews. On October 6th, 2006 a private family service was held. LONG - George Thomas "Tom" Long passed away suddenly at his home on October 3. 2006. Tom was born in Lacombe on February 13, 1934, eldest son of Paul and Ina. He attended school at Lakeside and Lacombe. At a young age he was employed with Flint Rig Oilfield Construction for 3 years. After that Tom started his own business raising cattle, until his passing. At the age of 8, he began pitching fastball at school and until the age of 28, he pitched for the Blackfalds Red Sox. He enjoyed sports such as curling, hockey, football and figure skating. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Paul in 1957 and his mother Ina in 1987. He is survived by his brothers, Larry (Dorothy). Ted, Ken, Glen (Bette) of the Lacombe area. His special nieces and nephews and their spouses, Paula (Mike) Law, Lynda (Chad) Bouchard of Lacombe, Lori (Brett) Edginton of Springbrook, Dave (Karla) Long of Medicine Hat, also his great nieces and nephews, Traci & Ryan Law, Justin & Daniel Bouchard, Walker & Houston Long and Mollie Edginton, also his faithful dog "BEAR". NEIS - Edward "Ed" James Neis of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006. Ed was born May 16, 1929 in Lacombe, Alberta and grew up in the Delburne area. Ed married Nellie Wilson in 1950 and settled in Delburne where he managed the Co-Op store. In 1960 he started working as an Assessor for the County of Red Deer until his retirement in 1988. Ed and Nellie enjoyed family camping trips and the times they spent at their summer home at the lake. In his spare time he could be found in the garage working on one of his many creations. Ed was an avid sports fan and enjoyed passing the winter months cheering on the local hockey teams. He had season tickets for local hockey since the Rustler days and enjoyed going to the Rebels home games or listening to out of town games on the radio. Ed is survived by his loving wife Nellie; daughter Debbie (Bruce) Marriott of Vermilion; three sons Clint (Lesley) of Pigeon Lake, Doug (Debbie) of Red Deer and Brian (Brenda) of Cochrane; grand children, Craig (Lisa) Marriott, Bobbi Marriott, Travis (Lindsey) Neis, Christie (Jared) Seida, Jennifer and Devon Neis, Madison, Carly and Dylan Neis; six great grandchildren and sister Kay Metz of Tilley. Ed was predeceased by his father Clarence Neis, mother Idella Barkley, sisters Claris Paton and Harriett Bowman and grandson Mark Marriott. A Celebration of Ed's life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287-67A Street, Red Deer on Friday, October 6, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. For those who wish to pay their respects, viewing will be held from 12:00 noon to 12:50 p.m. prior to the service. MacKENZIE - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father Duncan MacKenzie on Monday, March 27, 2006 as the result of a motor vehicle accident at the age of 73. He is survived by his daughters Lynette (Malcolm) Scherer of Medicine Hat, Myrna (Rob Carpenter) MacKenzie; son Terry MacKenzie; grandson Craig Scherer and granddaughter Kendyl Scherer all of Calgary. He is also survived by his mother Catherine of Eckville; sister Marjorie Stevenson of Red Deer; brothers Bill (Darleen) MacKenzie of Westbank, B.C. and David (Mary) MacKenzie of Eckville. Duncan is also survived by his step-grandchildren Danielle and Kristen Bonnamour; two sisters-in-law Doreen Frewin and Yvonne (Jacques) Lachaine all of Calgary. Duncan was predeceased by his wife Shirley in 1981; father Simon in 1994; mother and father-in-law Morley and Annie Emmett and sister-in-law Rita. Duncan was born on December 26, 1932 in Drumheller and raised on the family farm in Eckville. Dad started working for the Coca-Cola Co. in Red Deer in the late 1940's. He later started working for the Federal Government in Red Deer, in the early 1960's. Dad furthered his career with the government and moved to Calgary in 1967 until his retirement to the Sylvan Lake / Eckville area in the mid 1990's. POLAY - Mrs. Ruth M. (Walters) Polay of Lacombe, passed away at the Red Deer Nursing Home on Friday, January 6, 2006 at the age of 89 1/2 years. Ruth was born near Lousana, Alberta on the home farm on July 7, 1916. She loved flowers and gardening and was always busy with numerous crafts, projects and community activities. Ruth will be very deeply and sadly missed but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of her family and dear friends. Ruth leaves to mourn her loss, her seven daughters; Joan (Wallin) Gibson of Delburne, Dorothy (Lloyd) Feil of Lousana, Shirley (Ed) Paradowski of Sherwood Park, Carol (Oris) Rodger of Three Hills, Lorraine (Ivan) Walker of Red Deer, Marlene (John) Buckland and Gayle (Dan) Thomsen, all of Lousana, son-in-law, Bert (Ruth) Paton of Calgary, twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-eight great grand children and two great great grandchildren. She will also be very sadly missed by her sister, Ruby (Harvey) Johnson of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, three brothers, Harvey (Kathi) Kitto of Washington, United States, Norman (Flo) Kitto of Campbell River, British Columbia, Lawrence (Sandy) Kitto of Vancouver, British Columbia, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
