SLAGHT - 1932-2007 - Mary Doris (nee Fruttarol) passed away peacefully on August 25, 2007. Lovingly remembered by her husband Edward and their three sons, Brant (Cathy), Marc, Paul and three grandchildren. At Mary's request there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lacombe Hospital.

GROSE - Ada Grose (nee Gustafson) of Clive passed away at the Rimbey Care Center on August 29, 2007 at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by her husband Gordon, she leaves behind three children; Victor (Colleen) of Grande Cache, Jim (Faye) of Clive, and Sharon (Don) Badry of Red Deer, two sisters, Ellen Grose of Lacombe and Martha Clark of Coquitlam, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. WALKER, Myrna Eleanor nee Holmen - Myrna Walker entered into rest on August 29, 2007. She was born in Bentley, Alberta, on June 17, 1940 to Morris and Clara (Vig) Holmen. Myrna is survived by her loving husband Wilbert 'Jim' Walker and their children Debra & Michael Straney, Carey & John Paul Yoos, Roger & Nicole Walker, and Robert and Brenda Walker; their six grandchildren Michael James, Christopher, Dane, Alisha, Garett, and Crystal; two great grandchildren Matthew and Jacob; and one sister Frances (Dave). Myrna was predeceased by her parents, brothers Andrew, Clifford, and Melvin; sisters Anna, and Fern. A Funeral Service for the late Myrna Walker will be held at the Bentley Christian Centre, Bentley, on Friday, August 31, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. Interment will follow at the Vig Cemetery. NELSON, Henry
NELSON - Henry Nelson, beloved husband of Madeleine Nelson of Red Deer, found peace on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at the age of 75, after facing cancer with his characteristic easygoing nature. He was born March 16, 1932 at Fort Vermilion, AB. Henry will be lovingly remembered by his wife Madeleine, his children Debbie Neis, nee Newans (Doug) and their children Jennifer and Devon (Tonia), Donna Valckx, nee Newans (Lou) and their children Aime'e and Nadia (Gerald) and great grand- daughter Hailey Miller, David Newans and his children Tanner, Skylar and Kayla, Dianne Carless, nee Newans (Eddy) and their children Morgan, Justin and Spencer. Henry is also survived by his siblings: Joyce Heather, Dan (Gertie) Nelson, Joe (Marie-Anne) Buzdegan, Arlene (Art) Nicklin, Verna Priebatsch and Glen Buzdegan, and nieces and nephews. Also mourning Henry's passing are lifelong friends Gunnar & Edith Hansen & family and good neighbors Fudd & Iris Holtz. Henry was predeceased by his mother Sybil Buzdegan, Uncle John Nelson, Auntie Florence and Uncle Frank Howse and Brother-in-law Stuart Heather. Henry worked his early years in the west country, in farming, forestry and the oil patch. He then began work at Michener Center. Even though he had little formal education he was able to achieve his journeyman certificate in Culinary Art. Henry with his kind and gentle soul embraced life with all of its trials and tribulations. He accepted the cards he was dealt and leaves us with the memory of his treasured grin. GASIOR - Margaret Gasior of Red Deer passed away at Red Deer Regional Hospital on Friday October, 6, 2006 at the age of 85 years. She will lovingly be remembered by her two sons; Terry Gasior and Rick (Joan) Gasior, her daughter, Dana (Dennis) Miller. She will always be remembered by her nine grandchildren; Jordan, Adrienne, Laurie, Sherylin, Heather, Jennifer, Rob (Andrea), Daryn and Keri-Lynn. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Bernie in 2001.

HOCKENHULL - On October 7, 2006, Mr. Alfred Hockenhull, of Ponoka, passed away at the age of 83 years. He is survived by his wife Isabelle; children Jean Shaw (Robert) of Goldbridge, BC, Darlene Cooper (Trevor) of Calgary and Derek Hall of Ponoka; sisters and brother Gwen Duffy of Lacombe, Velma Rumpel of Bow Island and Bill Hockenhull of Blackfalds; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents William and Mary Hockenhull, sister Hazel Orange and three brothers - in - law. HENDRICKSON
HENDRICKSON - 1949 - 2006 - Mr. Jerry Hendrickson, beloved husband of Mrs. Madeline Hendrickson of Red Deer, passed away suddenly, as a result of complications from pancreatic cancer, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the age of 56 years. Jerry was born on December 17, 1949 at Camrose, Alberta. He was born and raised in the farming area just northwest of Camrose. In 1978, Jerry graduated from Lutheran Theological Seminary in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. From there, he served as Pastor to a variety of congregations in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. He moved to Red Deer with his young family in 1989. Jerry worked in a number of different positions: salesman at Northwest Motors, representative for Watkins Products and most recently as companion to seniors and the elderly for Community Care Home Health. Jerry's sons, Nick and Daniel were the centre of his life. He loved his sons dearly and was very proud of them and their accomplishments. Jerry had a strong and vibrant faith in God. He was a loving and dearly loved husband. Everyone who knew Jerry, remarked on his kind and gentle nature. He will be greatly missed. Jerry leaves to mourn his loss, his loving wife, Madeline and his two sons, Nicholas and Daniel and their mother, Jane (John) Ferguson of Red Deer. He will also be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, Douglas (Ann) of Camrose, Alberta, Ron (Joan) of Calgary, Alberta, Shirley (Elwood) of Courtney, British Columbia and Ellie (Darrell) of Edmonton, Alberta, as well as his numerous beloved nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Olga and Lawrence Hendrickson. A Public Funeral Service will be held at Sunnybrook United Church, 12 Stanton Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. with Diaconal Minister Jan Richardson officiating. Cremation will follow at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. Interment will be held at a later date. TRANGEN, ERIC ERNEST - On October 6, 2006, Mr. Eric Trangen of Bashaw passed away in the Bashaw Health and Care Centre at the age of 73 years. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Mary of Bashaw; children: Ramona Howe of Vernon, Cameron (Ayu) Thacker of Houston, Texas, Shelly (Don) Bjarnason of Innisfail and Lori Trangen of Bashaw; 10 grandchildren and 4 great - grandchildren, sister Mae Tennant (Harold Reid) of Wetaskiwin, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Dora and Truls Trangen, his brothers Doug and Carl and his sister Margaret. BRIGDEN, Joan
BRIGDEN - Joan Brigden of Red Deer passed away at Harmony Care Centre on Thursday September 28, 2006 at the age of 81 years. Joan was born in Brighton, England in 1925. In 1943 Joan married George Brigden in England and then moved to Canada in 1946 as a war bride. They resided in Calgary and later moved to Red Deer. For many years she worked as a receptionist at Parkland Pet Clinic. Joan was a very active with her family, work and loved taking care of her dogs; until the last three years she suffered from Alzheimer's. She will lovingly be remembered by her daughter Jan (John) Strokappe and two grandchildren; Hank and Ben. She was predeceased by her husband George in 1988. Cremation will take place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
