Ronald McClaskin of Calgary passed away Thursday, August 9, 2007 at the Carewest Sarcee Hospice, following a short illness.
Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sandra and two children Hannah and Aaron as well as by his parents Bob and Dorothy, brothers and sisters and many other relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Leyden's Funeral Home (17 Avenue and 2 Street SW) on Saturday, August 11, 2007 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Mr. Stewart Ralston Dyckman
December 1, 1909 - August 12, 2007
Stewart Dyckman died peacefully in his 98th year.
He was predeceased by his wife “Timmie” Winifred and his grandson Peter Machida.
He is survived by his son Alan Dyckman of Seattle and daughters Dr. Helen (Norm) Machida of Calgary, Anne (Ron) Cudmore of Ireland, and Claire Dyckman of Seattle.
He will also be missed by his sister Frances Newsom of Dallas, and his grandchildren Rob and Heather Machida, Kris and Mark Cudmore and Chantae Dyckman.
Born in Dallas to a Canadian mother and American father, Stewart had fond memories of a Texas childhood with summers in Ontario, four years at Harvard, a bachelor decade in New York City where he met his wife Timmie, and some years in Dallas before moving to Calgary with his young family in 1952.
His passions were family, family travel and camping, farming, hunting, fishing, dancing and creative discourse or “snip” with his grandkids.
He served as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy in the Pacific.
His business career included Chase Manhattan Bank, the Republic National Bank of Dallas, Proctor and Gamble, and almost thirty years with Norcen in Calgary.
Stewart loved teaching Sunday School in Calgary and in Seattle; sponsored several families to the US and Canada; and visited the elderly during his retirement years in Seattle.
He felt most thankful for a very full life.
The family thanks the caregivers at Wentworth Court.

A Celebration of Stewart’s life will be held on Friday, August 17, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Leyden’s Chapel of Remembrance (17th Avenue and 2nd Street SW).

SORENSON, Dixie
January 8, 1947 - August 11, 2007
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mrs. Dixie Sorenson after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Dixie will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Ralph, children: Greg (Lowella), Nicole (Mike) Hudon, Denise (Patrick) Henry, five grandchildren as well as her siblings, other family and a host of friends.
In keeping with Dixie's wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 17, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road.
Mr. Adolf Heintz Yeske

YESKE, Adolf Heintz - On Sunday, August 12, 2007 Adolf Yeske of Namao passed away at the age of 61 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; two sons, Shawn and Travis; three brothers, Arthur (Nancy), Alfred (Dorothy), Max; three sisters, Laura (Don) Elmore, Frieda (Egil) Frantzen, Elsie Mar.
He was predeceased by his brother Walter.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton.
Cremation has taken place.

Mrs. Victoria Peace Paquin
November 8, 1918 - August 21, 2007
On August 21, 2007, Victoria Paquin passed away at the age of 88 years.
She is survived by loving sons, Rick and his wife Anna and Joe; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Paquin.
A Memorial Service will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home, south of Wye Road, on Range Road 232, on Monday, August 27, 2007 at 10:00 am.

Mr. John "Jack" Walter Swinton
October 6, 1934 - August 19, 2007
John (Jack) Walter Swinton, 35th of that Ilk, Architect and Artist, dies at 72
Jack Swinton of Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully from cancer on August 19, 2007, at the age of 72.
He will be lovingly remembered by Marlene, his wife of fifty-one years, his sister Marilyn Bevans, and his son Rolfe, 36th of that Ilk.
Jack spent most of his professional career designing buildings and public spaces to serve Albertans.
He founded Swinton Architects in 1970.
He designed numerous hospitals, courthouses, fire stations and schools.
He was passionate about designing public housing projects, finding elegant ways to create inviting, liveable homes for people.
He won several awards for his work.
He was also very sensitive and appreciative of people's spiritual needs, designing a number of religious buildings and won a major award for his design of a synagogue.
Jack was for many years an active member of the Calgary Burns Club and the Rotary Club of West Calgary.
In his retirement he turned to his other passions, that of being a visual artist and sculptor, as well as gardening.
He created an oeuvre of magnificent fluid abstract wood sculptures, and nurtured his own peaceful green oasis in the centre of the city.
Jack was born in Edmonton on October 6, 1934.
He graduated from University of Montana in architecture in 1963.
He lived and worked in Vancouver and Kelowna before settling in Calgary in 1967.
A celebration of Jack's life will be held Saturday, August 25,2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Glencoe Club (636 – 29 Avenue SW, Calgary).
