Mrs. Evelyn Fjordbotten
January 23, 1915 - September 17, 2007

Evelyn passed away peacefully at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre in Claresholm, Alberta on September 17th at the age of 92 years with family members by her side. "Grandma” as she was known by many, had a big smile and a warm hug for everyone. She always had a twinkle in her eye. Evelyn was born January 23, 1915 in Pendleton, Oregon the fourth daughter of Fred and Elma Enbysk. Her parents moved to Alberta and Evelyn joined them in Granum in 1935. In 1936, at the age of 21, Evelyn married Artun Fjordbotten. Four children were born of this union, LeRoy (Deanne), Larry (Karen), Janet (Glenn Jeske) and Gail (Linda). Evelyn has 14 beloved grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and by her extended family, Randy (Kim) Lee. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Art in 1989 and by her three sisters, Myrtle Hepler, Mayme Robinson and Glenda Enbysk. For the past six years, Evelyn has been a resident of the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre where she received extraordinary care and love. Evelyn was hard working, fun loving and very caring. She loved her family, her church, chocolates and ice cream. She also enjoyed traveling, shopping and visiting with friends and family. Visitation at Leyden’s Funeral Home, 4079 1 Street West, Claresholm, Alberta on Friday, September 21, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. Private family graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2007. A Celebration of Life to be held at the Granum Lutheran Church at 2:00 pm with lunch to follow at the Granum Drop-In Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Granum Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 101, Granum, Alberta T0L 1A0 or to the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre, South Unit, Box 700, Claresholm, Alberta T0L 0T0. Arrangements entrusted to LEYDEN’S FUNERAL HOME, 4079 First Street West, Claresholm, AB T0L 0T0.

Mrs. Sharon Joan Haynes
November 7, 1956 - September 18, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mrs. Sharon Haynes at the age of 50 years after a courageous battle with cancer.
Sharon will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Jerry, daughter Karlie (Jon) Carter and son Ryan, her siblings Geraldine (Wayne) Engel, Jim (Janice) Bishoff and her parents Jack and Dorothy Bishoff.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday September 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton.

Mrs. Maureen Patricia Campbell
May 8, 1948 - September 15, 2007

Maureen passed away unexpectedly in her home on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at the age of 59.
Maureen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 5 years Colin Stumbourg, her parents Ollie and Alec Collins, her brother Bob (Heather) 2 sisters Charlotte (John), and Heather Cador.
Maureen was predeceased by her first husband Jim Campbell and will be dearly missed by their three children Jai-Lee (Cameron), Scott (Karen) and James (Melissa) Campbell. Maureen leaves behind 9 loving grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at South Side Memorial Chapel 8310-104 Street.
In Lieu of floral tributes donations may be made to the Bissell Centre, 10527-96 Street Edmonton, AB T5H 9Z9.

Mrs. Mary Winnifred Bennett
March 10, 1910 - September 17, 2007

Mary Winnifred Bennett (nee Bell) passed away at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre on September 17, 2007 at the age of 97 years with her sons John and Ralph and daughter-in-law Sharon present at her side. She was a dear mother and mother-in-law to John, Elk Point, AB and Ralph and Sharon (Thomson), Nanaimo, BC. Mom was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother to Elaine and Andy Bradshaw and Stephen, Julie, Nathan and Belinda of Calgary, AB; and John and Kim (Briggs) and Liam of Prince George BC. Also surviving are her brother-in-law, Tom Morkin and his family, and Purcell and Sacha nieces, nephews and cousins. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles V. Bennett in 1999 after 60 years of marriage; infant son, Arthur, 1946 and daughter-in-law Mary (Loftus), John’s wife in 1988, her three sisters, Helen Morkin, Rita Sacha, Anna Mae Purcell and her brother Joe Bell. She was born March 10, 1910 in Westfield, Huron County, ON to John J and Anna Mae (Redmond) Bell. Mom attended school in Meadow Creek and Claresholm, AB and Westfield and Goderich, ON, graduating in 1926 from the Goderich Collegiate Institute. Too young to enter U of A, Edmonton, she took a business course and dancing lessons in Calgary. She worked as a secretary for the Town of Claresholm before entering U of A in 1928 where she attended Normal School and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1932. She taught school in Claresholm until July 9, 1938 when she married Charlie and moved to Calgary, living there until 1942. They moved to Westfield, ON to assist on the Redmond family farm coming to Claresholm in early 1944. Mary taught at Claresholm High School at various times over the years. Mary was an active member of the CWL. Her great loves were dancing and gardening, bridge, music and reading clubs. She lived at home until January 2004 and then moved to the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre where she continued to enjoy life and remained cheerful to the end. Friends and family are invited to attend a Prayer Service on Monday, September 24, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church, 344-50th Ave. W, Claresholm, AB. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church with Father Malcolm D’Souza celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s name may be made to the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre (Box 700 Claresholm, Alberta T0L 0T0) or the charity of your choice.

Mrs. Donna Patriquin
March 6, 1939 - September 19, 2007

On September 19, 2007, Donna Patriquin passed away at the age of 68.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 44 years, Alvin; two sons, Andre (Jenny) and Richard (Kim); as well as the light of her life, four grandchildren, Ryley, Evan, Jordanna and Emily; and long time friends, Joyce McPherson and Sharon Sundquist; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Lester and Gwen McGhan.
The family would like to express their thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Grey Nuns Hospital for their compassionate care.
A Memorial Service will be held at Sherwood Park United Church, 20 Fir Street, Sherwood Park, on Monday, September 24, 2007 at 10:30 am.
Private interment will take place at the Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stollery Children's Hospital.

Mary Zawadiuk
July 21, 1927 - September 20, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary Zawadiuk at the age of 80 years.
Mary will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by her husband George, daughter Delilah (Joe), daughters-in-law Arlene and Wenxin, grandchildren Adam, Jeffrey, Carley and Jared and her brother Ed (Rose) Andriuk as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, brother George, sister Lena, sons Larry and Ladamer, grandson Daniel and two infant children Veronica and Terry.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road. Interment to follow at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
The family wish to extend a heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Dialysis Unit of the Royal Alexandra Hospital for all of their compassionate care and support.
Donations in memory of Mary may be made to the charity of your choice.

Mr. Dennis Ernest Popik
September 10, 1937 - September 15, 2007

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Dennis Ernest Popik, of Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 70.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife Vera; daughter Sandra (Oran) Shapitka; son Randy; grandsons Ryan, Justin and Derrick Shapitka; his faithful dog Macie; as well as numerous friends and relatives. Dennis was predeceased by his parents Fred and Tina Popik and his sister Mildred Oseychuk.
