passed away in the comfort of her home in Waterways at the age of 82 after a courageous battle with cancer. Gerry was predeceased by her parents Oscar and Mabel Hawthorn; husband Tim (Lloyd), daughter Maureen, son Ron (Howard). Her memory will be cherished by her loving family; Gerry will be lovingly remembered by her son Stuart of Vancouver, B.C.; daughter Patricia (Reg) of St. Alberta, AB; son Jim (Deb) of Cambridge, Ont.; son Hugh (Joan) of Fort McMurray, AB and daughter-in-law Anna Furber of Sackville, N.S.; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Our mother/grandmother has requested that no funeral or memorial service be held on her behalf and cremation has taken place. Her remains will be placed in the Fort McMurray Cemetery with her husband and two children. In lieu of flowers, if one so wishes donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Palliative Home Care Unit.
ROSE, HENRY THOMAS
Henry Thomas Rose of Tumbler Ridge, B.C., formerly of Fort McMurray, Alberta, born in FlowerÕs Cove, Newfoundland on May 31, 1936, passed away suddenly on Sept. 4, 1999 at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton due to complications from surgery. Henry leaves his loving wife Sylvia of 37 years; his son Shawn (Carol); his daughter Sharon Dutka; his grandchildren Matthew, Tahnee, Lee, Leah and Jared, all of Fort McMurray; his sisters Rosalind (Abe) Way and Estelle (Grant) Way; his brothers Lloyed (Gertie) and Clyed Rose, all residing in Newfoundland. Henry also leaves behind his mother-in-law Elizabeth Powell of Edmonton, numerous other relatives and countless friends, as well as his two treasured puppies Mitzi and Shona. Henry was predeceased by his father Archibald, his mother Agnes, his brother Norm and his sister Norma. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999 between 7 and 9 p.m. at South Side Memorial Chapel, 8310-104 St., Edmonton. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999 at 11 a.m. at St. MaryÕs Anglican Church, 11203-68 St., Edmonton, with Rev. George Morris officiating. Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 16102 Fort Road. In lieu of flowers, donations in HenryÕs memory may be made to the Childrens Health Foundation of Alberta. STAUDINGER, EDWARD PETER
The death of Mr. Edward Peter Staudinger, 80 years, of Lake Lenore, Sask., occurred at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Humboldt, Sask. on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999. Ed will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Emgarde (nee Baun) Staudinger of Lake Lenore; seven children: Valerie (Jim) Wilsevich of Red Deer, AB; Richard (Brenda) Staudinger of Fort McMurray; Eugene (Vivian) Staudinger of Saskatoon, Sask.; Mark (Donna) Staudinger of Calmar, AB; Neil Staudinger of Fort McMurray; Mary (Wesnoski) Staudinger of Kelowna, B.C.; and Owen (Hildegard) Staudinger of Lake Lenore; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and foster children; one sister Irene (Adolf) Danielson of Humboldt; and by many nieces and nephews. A prayer service will be held for Ed at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Lake Lenore on Friday, Sept. 3, 1999 at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be offered fromSt. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999 at 10 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Fr. Andrew Britz, OSB. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church. LAUZE, GERALD PAUL
July 23, 1933 - August 29, 1999
Dearly missed and forever loved by his wife Shirley, three sons, three daughters, 12 grandchildren, two brothers and one sister. Service to be held Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in the Pas, Man. where Gerald was born and raised. LAROUE, PATRICK GORDON THEODORE PERCY
passed away in his sleep after a valiant battle with rheumatoid arthritis and then lung cancer. Pat was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., relocated to Fort McMurray, AB in 1980 and then to Boyle, AB in 1986. His memory will be cherished by his loving wife Sandra, his children Kimberly (Harvey) Sorochan, Christopher, stepson Shawn (Evelyn) Vancoughnett, Debbie (Gaetan) Boulanger, his sisters Gail (Bunny) (Norman) Robidoux, Georgette (Susie) (Ray) Robidoux of Fort McMurray, Geraldine (Gerry) (James) Gaudette, Edie (Robert) Lemieux, Linda Laroue, Adele Laroue, Christine (Vince) Nicole, all of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; brothers Wayne Laroue of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. and Keith (Pete) (Lyne) of Toronto, Ont.; grandchildren Felicia and Ashley Sorochan, Meaghan Bohay (Laroue) and Joseph Boulanger; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by his parents John and Georgette Laroue. Arrangements by Robert Anderson Funeral Home, Fort McMurray, Alberta. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial was done by Rev. Allan Bonertz in Boyle, Alberta.
LUND, JOHN SAMUEL
On Aug. 23, 1999 Mr. John Lund of Boyle, Alberta passed away suddenly at the age of 42 years. He is survived by his daughter Allyson Lund; fiancee Ellen Knowles and her children Michael and Deanna; father and stepmother Ken and John Lund and her children Randy, Glen, Dale James and families; one sister Theresa (Dave) and their children Mathew and Justin Yee; one brother Ken (Felice) and their children Kyle and Kaitlyn Lund; uncles and aunts Trueman (Hazel) Lund, James (Mary Jane) Lund, Robert (Theida) Lund, Martin Lund, Beverly Hitz, Blanche Keep, Ray (Carol) Hagen; as well as numerous other relatives and many friends.
