BAUTISTA - Magdalena Bautista (nee Landa) passed away at age 74, on November 22, 1997. She is survived by her loving husband Teodoro; her sons, Lito (Lynda), Tony (Myrna), Alex, Benjamin (Ceres), Augusto, and Jamie (Ochie), (her son Oscar predeceased her); her daughters, Veronica (Rolly) and Aida (Lito); her sister Idad of the Philippines; her cousin Severo Derige (and his family) of Toronto; as well her twenty-one grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28, 1997 at Pierson's Funeral Homes, 4121 - 17 Avenue S.E. CHAMBERLAIN-DeROOSE - Eleanor Mary (Lindy) Chamberlain-DeRoose (nee Whiteman), beloved wife of Mr. Oscar DeRoose of Anglemont, B.C., formerly of Calgary, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, B.C. on July 4, 1997, at the age of 66 years. Eleanor was born in Edmonton, AB, on October 24, 1930. She obtained her Bachelor of Education in Calgary and went on to obtain her Masters of Education in San Francisco, California. She taught elementary school and worked with the visually impaired at Elboya Elementary and worked as Vice Principal at Cappy Smart Elementary until her retirement in 1986. Through her love of curling and her heart for people through community and social functions, Eleanor easily made life long friends. Along with her love of life, Eleanor instructed numerous sewing classes and sat on many committees in the community of Anglemont, B.C., where she lived out her dream retirement. Included in these was her work to improve medical and palliative care in the area. She is survived by her second husband, Oscar; her mother Catherine Whiteman; a brother Frank and his wife Jan Whiteman; a sister Margaret and her husband Kelly George; two daughters, Reny and her husband Gerry de Jong, Heather and her husband Dave Eamon; a son Jim and his wife Judy Chamberlain; six grandchildren, James, Scott, Blake, Jared, Kelly and Tyler; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Eleanor was predeceased by her father Edward Whiteman and her first husband Leonard James Chamberlain. She was loved by all whose lives she touched and will be sadly missed. LoVECCHIO - Antonine (Lena), passed away peacefully after a long illness at Carewest Glenmore Park on December 22, 1997 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by her husband Joe LoVecchio; dear mother of Catherine and Frank O'Brien of San Bernardino, CA, Trene and Dale Green of Mill Creek, WA, and Sal and Liz LoVecchio of Calgary, AB. Sister of Frances Piazza of Toronto, ON and Mary Comella of Calgary, AB. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be concelebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307 - 14 Street S.W.), today, December 24, 1997 at 12:00 noon with the Rev. Jesus Timajo and the Rev. Stanley A. Henke, Celebrants. The family wishes to thank the staff at Carewest Glenmore Park for the wonderful care they have given Lena over the past three and a half years. LOVETT - Joan (nee Bolinski) of Calgary, passed away peacefully on December 6, 1997 at the age of 55 years. She is the loving daughter to Josie Toner, and mother to Kevin (Judy), Kenneth (Louise), Karen, Korry and Kolin. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer, Whitney, Alex and Amy; her sisters, Linda Zoller, Debbie (Bruce) Jonas; special cousin Sharon Robson; and nieces, Colleen (Jarrod) Johnston, Chrissy and Corri Zoller; and nephews, Bruce and James Jonas. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and her special cat Charlie (nee Shadow). LOW - William Gould, at Mississauga Hospital, on Saturday, December 13, 1997 in his 69th year. Beloved husband of the late Lois. Dear step-father of Ruth Meinecke and her husband Guy Gibbons of Montreal, Karen and her husband Larry Thomas of Calgary; and "Grandpa Bill" to David, Andrew and Jessica. Also loved by brother Richard and his wife Dorothy of London, Ontario; their four children; and brother-in-law and close friend Chris Doscher and his wife Sonya. Bill was a Chartered Accountant with Hyde Houghton in Montreal. He moved to Toronto in 1979 to strengthen and establish their Toronto office. He became the firm's managing partner, retiring in 1991 to do consulting. He loved golf and was an active member of Mississauga, Royal Montreal, and Dataw. He was proud of his Scottish roots and was a life member of the St. Andrew's Society. Memorial Visitation with family members will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17 at TURNER & PORTER "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga (Highway 10, North of QEW). BUTTS - Amelia (Millie) Butts (nee Schlegel) of Calgary, passed away at the Extendicare Cedars Villa Nursing Home on Monday, November 10, 1997 at the age of 81 years. She is survived by a daughter Fran (Gary) Abele of Palmdale, California; five grandchildren, Cathy Burton of Arcola, Saskatchewan, Kenneth and David Yearley, and Karen and John Gillis Jr., all of California; five great-grandchildren; a brother William (Marion) Schlegel of Guelph, Ontario; a sister Mary (Ray) Chisholm of Kelowna, British Columbia; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband William Butts, son John Gillis, grandson Kevin Gillis, and a sister Susan Andrews. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Fish Creek Chapel" (14441 Bannister Road S.E.), on Friday, November 28, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined.
