- Shop now for incredible insights into your wellbeing -BAUMANN - Willi Otto passed away at the Bowcrest Nursing Home on June 12, 1997 at the age of 89 years after a long illness. Mr. Baumann is survived by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Gertrude; by their son Egon and wife Lieselotte; his grandson Terry, wife Linda and their children, Katie and Christopher, all of Nelson, BC; his granddaughter Ramona of Calgary; a brother Heinrich Baumann of Stuttgart, Germany; and many other family and friends in Germany, Edmonton and Calgary. Mr. Baumann emigrated from Germany in 1951 and practiced his toolmaker trade until his retirement in 1975. He will be very much missed. CHAMBERS - Nora Chambers passed away at Foothills Hospital on December 14, 1997 at the age of 76 years. Predeceased by her husband Howard in 1967 and by a brother John Heuman, Nora is survived by two daughters, Barbara Worwood (Don Parker) of Aldergrove, B.C., and Janet Kennedy (Steve) of Vermilion, Alberta; four grandchildren, Krista, James, Kyle and Derek; four brothers, Harry Heuman (Stella), Albert Heuman (Margaret), Jim Heuman (Olive) and Tony Heuman (Julie); three sisters, Elsie Maunier (George), Marianne Glazer (Ed) and Barbara Garvey (Terry); and numerous other friends and relatives. In her younger years, Nora served in the Armed Forces, General Services Division. She married her partner and best friend Howard, and together they built a home and raised two daughters. Nora maintained the family home until the time of her passing. She was employed with the federal government for a number of years, retiring in the late seventies. Nora enjoyed gardening, her family and friends, and travelling. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses on Unit 101at the Foothills Hospital. CHANDLER - Robert John passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 1997 at the Foothills Hospital, at the age of 70 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lilyan; three sons, Bob (Anna), John (Mary Ann) and Lee (Linda); grandchildren, Tamara, Zachary, Jessica and Mark; one great-granddaughter Kayla. Bob was born in Bow Legs, Oklahoma on October 8, 1927. He retired from a lifelong career in the oil and gas business. He was much loved and will be dearly missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 15, at 1:00 p.m. at the CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 - 4 Street N.W. (within Queen's Park Cemetery). CHASE - Robert Perley (Bobby) Chase, of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 1997 at the age of 62 years. He is the loving father of a daughter Erin Jill of Fredericton, New Brunswick. He is also survived by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Weldon, Max and Joyce, all of Fredericton, N.B., Buddy and Shirley of Calgary, Alberta; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Joan Coates of Fredericton, N.B. and Maxine and Mac Campbell of Nackawic, N.B. FINCH - Derek Charles Finch passed away at his residence on November 11, 1997 at the age of 58 years. Derek is survived by his loving wife Lorna; three daughters, Michelle (Ken) Baker, Valerie (Darrel) Foat and Christine; and three grandchildren, Jennifer, Nicole and Bradley. Also survived by his brother Allan; sister Rita; and several nieces and nephews. Derek was born in 1939 in London, England. He enlisted in the Parachute Regiment in England from 1957 to 1960. Derek joined the Calgary Police Service in 1966 and retired in 1996 after thirty years of service. He was well-loved and respected and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He was a kind, caring, sensitive and generous man who was always there for his family. Derek had a passion and love of hobbies which included woodworking, model airplanes and reading. FITZGERALD - It is with great sadness we announce the death of Lorna "June" Fitzgerald, who passed away suddenly at Gresham, Oregon, on June 3, 1997 at the age of 79 years. June was born on June 12, 1917 in Lethbridge, AB. She attended school in Cardston, AB. and obtained her hairdressing certificate in 1936 in Calgary. She married Arch Fitzgerald on October 4, 1937 in Calgary. They moved to Medicine Hat, AB. in 1938 and to Calgary in 1951. June held many positions in the Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) Church in her lifetime and was well known for her expertise in making homemade chocolates. She conducted many seminars demonstrating this art. June is the loving mother of two daughters and a son-in-law, Dianne and Eldon Rasmussen of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Valerie Fitzgerald of Calgary; her son and daughter-in-law John and Bonnie Fitzgerald of Gresham, Oregon; as well as eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. June is also survived by her three sisters, Melba McMullin of Vancouver, B.C., Wanda Duce of Lethbridge, AB., and Eunice Robuliak of Mississauga, ON.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Arch, in 1980 and also by two sisters, a brother and her parents. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. MONTFORD - Mrs. Ruby Charlotte Montford, of Okotoks, passed away at home on October 18, 1997 at the age of 80 years. Ruby is survived by her loving husband Bob; her children, Barb (John) Schwarz of Calgary, Bobby (Judy) of St. John, NB, Ron (Phyllis) of Calgary, Terry (Lucie) of Strathmore, Marsha (Jim) McKenzie of Okotoks, Fred (Bev) of Black Diamond, Doug (Yvonne) of High River; as well as numerous loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruby is also survived by four sisters, one brother and her faithful dog Buddy. MONTGOMERY - Allen "Al". On November 27, 1997, Mr. Al Montgomery, of Edmonton, passed away at the age of 60 years. Al is survived by his loving wife and best friend Barbara; two daughters, Christal (Brent) Schmitt and Sheri Montgomery; two grandchildren, Emily and Nicholas; two sisters, June (John) Wutzke, and Dorothy; one brother Bob (Betty); as well as other family members, Joyce Montgomery, Vera McRorie, Doreen Atkinson and family, Gloria (Ray) Persson and family. Predeceased by his brother Bill and sister Eileen. Al was born and raised in the Lacombe-Rimbey area. He worked and lived in Edmonton and Calgary.
