RITCHIE - Daryl Gordon Ritchie of Calgary, passed away December 5, 1997. Daryl is sadly missed by his loving wife Brenda; and his daughters, Candice and Megan; and by his parents, Larry and May Ritchie of Regina; his sisters, Linda of Melville, Saskatchewan, Leesa of Sebring, Florida; his brothers, Leslie and Alan of Edmonton, Ronald of Saskatoon and Laird of Warman, Saskatchewan; his father and mother-in-law, Adolph and Mary Goettel of Edmonton; his brother-in-law Aaron of Edmonton; and his sister-in-law Carol of Lacombe, Alberta. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Florida. Daryl enjoyed a long and distinguished service with the Canadian Armed Forces reserves, reaching the rank of Major.Daryl had achieved many successes in life receiving his law degree from the University of Saskatchewan. He was recently admitted to the Alberta Bar and entered into private practice.Daryl lived his life for family and friends. A kind, generous man who will be missed by those he touched. LOEWEN - Henry Peter Loewen, beloved husband of Gwen Loewen, of Calgary, passed away peacefully at home Christmas Day, 1997, at the age of 72 years. As well as his wife, he will be sadly missed by their children, Joanne Jonsson (Carl), Ronald Hornby (Lea), Doris Rousseau, all of Calgary, and Donna Saunders (Leonard) of Lethbridge; ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, John, Peter, Cornelius and Martin; and sisters, Margaret, Justina, Sally and Susie; and many other relatives and friends. Henry was predeceased by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral Services will be held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 44 Street and 8 Avenue S.E. on Wednesday, December 31, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Gordon Ellison officiating. RUIZ - Emeterio Fontanilla, peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 1997, at the Foothills Hospital, at the age of 75 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Salud; by his three daughters, Perlita, Nenita (Gani) and Mercy (Lito); by his grandchildren, Relwin and Matt; as well as by his many other relatives and friends in Canada, the United States and the Philippines. MACKENZIE - Ruth Mackenzie of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on September 30, 1997, at the age of 99 years. She is survived by four children, two daughters, Margaret (Ross) Glass and Eileen (Ewan) Ferrier; two sons, Gordon (Ulla) Mackenzie and Bill (Rosalind) Mackenzie, all of Calgary; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband Thomas in May, 1997. She was born in Scotland on July 26, 1898 and was married to her husband Tom for sixty-nine years. Ruth and Tom enjoyed may years of hunting, fishing and outdoor activities in the West, with a special love for the mountains. Ruth was a loving wife, and mother, and will be sadly missed. She was an outgoing, caring person who touched everyone she met, "To know her was to love her". The family wish to thank Dr. G. Gould for his care and concern, as well as the staff of the Cedars Villa Nursing Home, and Unit 61 at the Foothills Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church (3704 - 37 Street S.W., Calgary) on Friday, October 3, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. D. Murdo Marple officiating. RUNDLE - Helen M., known to her friends as Phoebe, passed away December 7, 1997 at the age of 80. She was a resident at the Maple Hill Extended Care Facility in Langley, B.C. She is survived by her son Gordon and his wife Tara; and her three grandchildren, Annette, Bobby and Susan. She also leaves a brother J.W. Gibbons, and a sister Grace Brown. Memorial Services will be held at Queen's Park Cemetery in July (12/16/1997).

MORIN - Gilles R. Morin, beloved husband of Ms. Cyndy Iampen of Calgary, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 2, 1997, after a terrible accident at the age of 37 years. Gilles was born on March 22, 1960 in Cornwall, Ontario and moved to Calgary in 1990. He was a very beautiful person who touched the lives of many people especially his wife Cyndy and their three children, Keanan (three years), Haley (one and a half years) and soon to be born child due in March near his birthday. Gilles most favorite moments were spent lazing around with his family on Sunday mornings; spontaneously dancing with his wife and kids; and passionately loving those dear to him. Besides his wife and children, Gilles is survived by his mother and father, Annette and Arthur Morin of Cornwall, ON; three sisters, Lise Gault and Lynn Markell of Cornwall, ON and Nicole Morin of Robinsonville, NB, and their families. He is also remembered by his extended family, Fran and Tim Clark of Calgary; Cori Iampen of Saskatchewan; Marcy Bufford and family; Sandy Richter and family of St. Albert, AB; Perry and Debbie Froats; Danny and Nicole Le Blanc and their families, all from Cornwall, ON; as well as countless other friends too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his big brother Robert Morin. We all feel very blessed to have known his love and selfless compassion. He is truly missed. MORRIS - Mr. John Alexander Morris, beloved husband of Mrs. Grace Morris of Calgary, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 19, 1997 at the age of 66 years. Born March 7, 1931 in Opel, Alberta, John was a well-known pioneer of the oil and gas industry. He was employed by Can-Tex Drilling from 1949 until 1979, retiring as Vice President. John was married to his wife Grace for forty-two years. Besides his wife, John is also survived by his five children and their families, Cynthia and Ross O'Donnell, Carmen and Lori Morris, Bev and Al Garbutt, Pamela and Kirby Morrow, and Mark and Kerry Morris. Grandpa John dearly loved all his grandchildren, Naomi, Colin, Justin, Avalon, Stephen, Noel, Richard, Lauren and Matthew, and they will miss his bright smile and warm hugs. He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers, Mildred Komarniski, Nick Morris, Richard Morris, Sonia Grandish and Mary Matthews.
