Throughout her life, Marie volunteered at the Providence Creche, now known as the Providence Child Development Centre. Besides her loving husband, Marie is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. NEILSON -- Antonia (Toni) Neilson (nee Kohout) of Brentwood Care Centre, passed away on December 12, 1997 in her 90th year. Antonia will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Karen (Fred) Gould of Nanton; her sons, Don (Isabel), Gerald, and Paul (Dolores); as well as her sister Anne Topak, all of Calgary. Also surviving are her eight grandchildren, Scott (Margo) Neilson of Vancouver, Valerie (Craig) Coulombe of Calgary, Shawna and Sharon Gould of Nanton, Robert, Eric, Kevin and Lesley Neilson of Calgary; and her nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Anton and Barbara Kohout and by her sisters, Mary Tupkal, Helen Mayer and Mildred Laidlaw. Antonia was born on October 13, 1908 in Michel B.C. and moved from the Crowsnest Pass to Calgary in 1928 to train at the Maxine Beauty School. She worked for the Hudson Bay and Eatons beauty salons in Calgary before retiring in 1974. Toni was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and enjoyed the many friendships she made through various groups including Time Out, Grace Bethany Group, the Mary Marthas, the choir, bible classes and the Westside Seniors. NELSON -- Mr. Andrew Nelson of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Sunday, December 14, 1997, after a brief illness, at the age of 92 years. Andrew was born in Denmark in 1905, and at the age of five, moved with his family to the state of Washington. He worked in the logging industry and served in the National Guard. In his late teens, Andrew moved to Calgary, where he has since resided. He served with the R.C.A.F. for five years during World War II, both in Canada and overseas. Following his wartime service, Andrew was employed for twenty years with Mannix, and then went into pipeline construction and inspection. Andrew is survived by a son Robert Andrew; and a daughter and son-in-law, Marguerite and Volk Stoll, all of Calgary; three grandchildren, Derek (Linda), Michael (Joan) and Randall; and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Teela and Kyrie. He is also survived by a sister Lily Moldenhauer of Edmonton. Andrew was predeceased by his wife Gunda in 1981, also by five brothers and three sisters. OAKES -- (nee Badley) Minnie Jean (Dianne) passed away quietly on Saturday, December 13, 1997 at the age of 80 years. She was predeceased by her husband Theodore, son Terrance and a brother Kenneth. ROBERTSON -- Mrs. Isabella Wilson Robertson of Black Diamond, Alberta, passed away on December 14, 1997 at the age of 81 years, beloved mother of Marlene (Gordon) Goss, Okotoks and Betty Stewart, Turner Valley. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Robertson was predeceased by her husband William in 1952, her son Allan in 1993, sisters, Margaret Wharry in 1987 and Agnes Christie in 1981. Born in Calgary, Mrs. Robertson had resided in Black Diamond since 1937. ROBINSON -- Alice Robinson (nee Hamerl) of Calgary, passed away at the Rosedale Hospice on Sunday, December 14, 1997 after a courageous battle with cancer. Alice was born in Heisler, Alberta and worked in Camrose and Calgary as a dental assistant. She met her husband Doug in Calgary and married in 1948. Alice always enjoyed looking after her home and entertaining friends. Alice is survived by her family, three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Edna and Peter Maciborsky of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Jean and Wallace Comeaux, of Anchorage, Alaska and Doris Hamerl of Grande Prairie, Alberta. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Derril Maciborsky, Grande Prairie, Alberta, Joan and Randy Hoffman, Grimshaw, Alberta, Terri and Butch Currier, North Pole, Alaska and Michael Comeaux, Anchorage, Alaska. SHARPE -- Mr. Edward Alexander Sharpe passed away following a courageous battle with heart disease. He is survived by his loving son Barry; as well as his two sisters, Marie O'Bertous and Betty Pope; his brothers, Harold and Tom. He was predeceased by his brother John. Ed was born in Calgary and served overseas from 1939 to 1945 during World War II, following the war he continued his career in the R.C.A.F. He was active in the Masonic Lodge and the Star. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. His family was very important to him and he will be lovingly remembered by them. SINCLAIR-FURGESON -- M. Jane Sinclair-Furgeson, beloved wife of Peter Kim Furgeson of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on December 16, 1997, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 45 years. Jane was born April 14, 1952 in Owen Sound, Ontario and received a Bachelor of Administration from the University of Regina in 1992. She made a significant contribution to the financial institutions that she worked for including the Royal and Credit Union. Jane provided expertise in the area of loans and employee training programs because she enjoyed dealing with people from all walks of life. She cherished those weekends with Peter at Lake Windermere at the Marina. Besides her loving husband, Jane is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Paul Salvatore of Brooks, Alberta; stepdaughter Roni-Jean Furgeson and stepson Cameron Peter Furgeson, both of Canmore, Alberta; mother Grace Sinclair of Brooks; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug and Joey Sinclair of Brooks, Alberta, Steve and Lee Sinclair of Calgary; and sister Anne Miller of Regina, Saskatchewan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. SOLBACH -- Kurt Eugen passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Saturday, December 13, 1997 at the age of 67 years, with his wife Edeltraut of forty-four years at his bedside. He leaves to mourn his son Wolfgang; and daughter Marion Whitmore; as well as his two favorite grandchildren, Christopher and Michelle. He will also be missed by his brother Erwin (Esperanza) Solbach of El Paso, Texas; and his sister Ingrid (Rolf) Baptist of Gunn, Alberta. He was a very caring, loving and gentle parent. He loved to hear and play all kinds of music. On any occasion all of his friends would be known to drop by and sit around with Kurt, playing music from dusk to dawn. STEWART -- Blanche Stewart, beloved wife of Mr. Clifton Stewart of Calgary, passed away after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer at the Rockyview Hospital, on December 15, 1997 at the age of 75 years. Blanche loved to travel to see friends and relatives across Canada and the U.S.A. Her great love was to drive out into the back country on a Sunday afternoon. She will be remembered affectionately by all she touched. She will also be remembered for her courage and strength, her sense of humour and spirit during her life and illness. She will be greatly missed by her husband Clifton and the families, relatives and friends, spread across Western Canada. STINSON -- Jeffrey Todd Stinson passed away tragically on Saturday, December 13, 1997 in Cochrane at the age of 29 years. Prematurely born June 7, 1968, prematurely departed December 13, 1997. Jeff was an active local businessman, the owner of Atomic Excavating Ltd. Jeff was well-known and respected by all who knew him. He loved his work and was proud of his achievements. In his few spare hours, he loved to relax with his friends and family. He will always be remembered as a friend to everyone and willing to help whenever needed. Jeff's memory will be cherished by his loving parents, Ken and Maureen; his sister Shauna; and his wife Dallas. As well, Jeff will be sadly missed by his many relatives and friends.
