PALMATIER -- Burton Lee (Burt) Palmatier, of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Tuesday, December 16, 1997 at the age of 83 years. Burt was born December 28, 1913 in Picton, Ontario to Lee Burton and Bessie Palmatier. Following his education, he gained employment with Toronto General Trust. In 1942, Burt married Wilma Shaw and shortly thereafter joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as a radar technician serving in North Africa. Following his return to Canada in 1951, Burt moved to Calgary in 1951 where he continued with Toronto General Trust. Burt and Wilma raised two children, Susan and John. Wilma passed away in 1975 and three years later Burt retired. In 1976, he married Ann Rutherford, who passed away in 1986. He is the loving father of a daughter and a son-in-law, Susan Cook and Kent of Whitby, Ontario; a son and daughter-in-law, John Palmatier and Ramona of Kelowna, British Columbia; two grandsons, Sean and his wife Lisa, and Jamie Cook; two great-granddaughter, Katharine and Emily Cook. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Park Memorial Chapel" (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), today, December 18, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 114, 1212 - 1 Street S.E., Calgary, Alberta T2G 0G8 or to a charity of the donor's choice. PAULSON -- David Jasper Paulson of Calgary, formerly of Banff, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on December 14, 1997 at the age of 82 years. He will be sadly missed by his family. PERRY -- Mr. Norman (Allen) Perry of Elnora, passed away in the Peter Lougheed Centre on Tuesday, December 16, 1997 at the age of 74. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, December 19, 1997 at 2:30 p.m. from the Elnora Community Hall with Reverend Catherine Holland officiating. ROSS -- Charles David Ross (Chuck) passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on December 15, 1997. He is survived by his wife Kally; father Jack; daughter Lisa; sons, John and Randy; grandchildren, Joshua and Isabel; and sister Nancy McDonald. Chuck was born in Toronto on March 12, 1942. While at Viscount Bennett High School he was recognized for his leadership qualities and in 1959 won the Harry Hood Football Award. He graduated from the University of Calgary and started his teaching career at Rideau Park School. From 1979 to 1985 he was Principal of Crescent Heights High School; 1985 to 1987 Associate Superintendent; 1987 to 1994 Principal of Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alternative Cancer Research Foundation, Suite 4615 Canterra Tower, 400 - 3 Avenue S.W., Calgary T2P 4H2. The family invites you to join in a Celebration of Chuck's life at the Red & White Club, McMahon Stadium (access from University Drive N.W.) at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 20.

WHEELER -- John (Jack) Wheeler of Calgary (Claresholm), beloved husband of Sharon, passed away on December 15, 1997 with his family at his side. He is survived by his loving children, John, Debora, Sharyl; his son-in-law Chris; and his two wonderful grandchildren, Melissa and Tyler. John also leaves to mourn, three brothers and five sisters in Newfoundland; as well as his brother Hubert in Calgary to whom we would like to give special thanks. He also has left a whole world of family and friends behind. WILLIAMS -- Mrs. Adelene (Dolly) Nicena Williams passed away at the Forest Grove Care Centre, Calgary, Alberta, on December 17, 1997 at the age of 73 years, beloved mother and mother-in-law of Marilyn and Christopher Kwashuk, Rimbey, Alberta; and beloved grandmother of Lori Reid, Canmore, Alberta and Brian Reid, Calgary; and great-grandmother of Wiley. She is also survived by her mother Viola Isley, Calgary; a brother Gerald (Jean) Isley, Langdon, Alberta; and a sister Grace (Cliff) McMahon, Phoenix, Arizona; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John Raymond Williams on January 5, 1997, and by her father Clifford George Isley in 1966, and by a grandson Raymond. She was born, raised and educated in Vermilion, Alberta where she married John Raymond Williams in 1946 and farmed in Claysmore District near Vermilion. She was employed with the Alberta Treasury Branch in Vermilion, then came to Calgary in 1975 and was employed at the Chinook Branch in Calgary until her retirement. She was a member of First United Church in Vermilion and McDougall United Church, Calgary, as well as a Charter Member of the United Church Women. Funeral Services will be held at McDougall United Church (8516 Athabasca Street S.E.) on Saturday, December 20, 1997 at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Bryan Derksen officiating. Interment will take place in Vermilion Public Cemetery. If so desired, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta (1825 Park Road S.E. Calgary, Alberta T2G 3Y6) or the Canadian Diabetes Association (114, 1212 - 1 Street S.E. Calgary, Alberta T2G 0G8) or a charity of your choice. ARRASCUE -- John Paul Arrascue, beloved infant son of Romy Chavez and John Onofre Arrascue, passed away suddenly December 16, 1997 at the age of six months. As well as his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Alejandro Chavez and Gilda Serpa and Segundo Arrascue and Rosa Murga, all of Lima, Peru; two uncles, Robert Chavez of Calgary, and Christian Chavez of Peru; and other relatives and friends. BIRTLES -- Blanshard (Birt) Birtles passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital on Tuesday, December 16, 1997 at the age of 80 years, after a brief struggle with cancer. He was predeceased by his loving wife Esme, with whom he spent many happy years. He is survived by his son Robert (Bob) Birtles; his daughter Sheila McLean; and his stepson Ken (Toby) Knight; his grandchildren, Teresa Rogers, Sandra Dalm, Spencer Villam and Heather Birtles. DOUGAN -- Mary Florence Dougan of Calgary, passed away at the Cross Bow Auxiliary Hospital on December 17, 1997 at the age of 96 years. Mary was born and raised in Oxford, Nova Scotia. She married Francis L. Dougan of Moncton, New Brunswick in 1950 and lived in that city until 1989. She moved back to Calgary with her sister Margaret, where she resided until her passing. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Mary's Seniors and the Catholic Woman's League. She is survived by a sister Margaret Jeffers of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband Francis, and two brothers, Robert and Darrol.
