After a short battle with cancer, Pierre David Lantaigne of New Liskeard died April 1, 2004 at the Temiskaming Hospital.
Mr. Lantaigne was born in Belle Vall e on May 8, 1947 to Th r se Labont and Gabriel Lantaigne.
Mr. Lantaigne was the founder and a coordinator and worker at Northern Star Consumer/Survivor and Family Network. He had many talents, enjoyed people and travelling. He devoted the last years of his life to helping people with a mental disorder. He was loved and will be missed by many people.
Mr. Lantaigne is survived by his daughters Carole (Bill) and Claire (Rick); sister Th r se Johnson; stepsisters Mariette Tourigny (Ludger), Claudette Tourigny and stepbrother Roger Lauzon.
He was predeceased by his parents Therese and Gabriel and brother Aim' Lantaigne.
The funeral was arranged by Perrin Funeral Chapel in New Liskeard with the service conducted at Paroisse Sacr Coeur by Father Turcotte.
Pallbearer was nephew Eddie Johnson.
Cremation has taken place with interment at the Belle Vall e cemetery in the summer.
The funeral was followed by a lunch in the church basement as well as at the Northern Star Consumer/Survivor and Family Network. It was a memorial gathering for the members and public.
Donations were made to the Cancer Society and to the Northern Star Consumer/Survivor and Family Network at the church.
The family thanked Dr. Hurtubise, Dr. Corbin, the staff and especially the nurses in palliative care in Mr. Lantaigne s final moments.
Richard Joseph No l LaForge
Richard Joseph No l LaForge died tragically on May 31, 2004 at about 11:02 p.m. on Highway 11. He was 24.
Mr. LaForge was predeceased by his sister Jennifer, his grandmother and grandfather LaForge.
He is survived by his companion Rebecca MacDonald of Kitchener, father Rick and stepmother Bonnie LaForge of Charlton, mother Roxanne and stepfather Mike McDonald of Kitchener, sisters Michelle Kennedy (n e LaForge) of Milton, Ren e LaForge of Cambridge and Chantalle LaForge of Charlton, brother Christopher LaForge of Regina, stepbrothers Jeremy and Jared McDonald of Kitchener, grandparents Joseph and Jacqueline Larocque of Cache Bay, stepgrandparents Tom Demarell, Alva Briggs, Emily and Tom Irvine of Englehart, many aunts, uncles and cousins, soon to come nephew and many, many friends.
He is greatly missed and in our hearts forever.
Fleur De May Garreau
Fleur De May Garreau of Latchford died June 7, 2004 at the Temiskaming Hospital.
She was born May 27, 1924 in Rutherglen to John Doyle and Zolica Ouellette.
Mrs. Garreau is survived by her husband Ed; sons Ren of Latchford and Gordon (wife Vicky) of Sudbury; daughter Liza (husband Don Willett) of Haileybury; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Georgina Garreau.
The funeral will be at Buffam L veill Funeral Home in Haileybury on Thursday, June 10 at 4 p.m. Father M.J. Scully to officiate.
Cremation will occur.
In memory contributions to Temiskaming Palliative Care or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
Albert Bond
Albert Bond died June 6, 2004 at the Temiskaming Hospital at the age of 76.
He was predeceased by his parents and grandson Gino St. Onge.
Mr. Bond is survived by his loving wife Estelle; children Yvon (and Mariette) Bond, Ginette (and Ren ) St. Onge, Nicole (and Paul) Chowzun, Louise (and Romeo) McLean, Noel Bond, Alain (and Colleen) Bond, Kim Bond and Stella Bond; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church on Saturday, June 12 at 4 p.m. with Father Lafond officiating.
Memorial contributions to the Temiskaming Lung Association or the Diabetes Association will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

Conrad Lauzon
Conrad Lauzon died suddenly at the age of 65 on June 4, 2004 at the Temiskaming Hospital.
Mr. Lauzon was predeceased by his parents, brothers Serto and Jean Marc and brother-in-law Tony Arseneault.
He is survived and sadly missed by his wife Jeannine (n e Baril); son Gilles (wife Corrie); granddaughters Ashlyn and Kelsie; siblings Serge (and Pauline), Alexis (and Georgette), Vincent (and Carmen), Huguette Arseneault, Paulette (and Charles) Gris , Danielle (and Georges) Boucher and sister-in-law Rita Lauzon.
A memorial mass was held at Holy Cross Catholic Church on June 7. Father Germain Turcotte officiated.

G rard Etienne Martel
G rard Etienne Martel died in the comfort of his home, with his loving family at his side, on June 6, 2004. He was 80 years old.
Mr. Martel is survived by his loving wife Laurette Goudreault, children Marcellin (and Debbie), Lionel (and Linda), Michel (and Cathy), Nicole and Jocelyne (and Rosaire Levasseur), and by 10 grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church on Saturday, June 12 at 11 a.m. Father Lafond will officiate.

Maurice Perron
Earlton resident Maurice Perron died May 21, 2004 at the Englehart and District Hospital.
He was born in Earlton on March 2, 1934. Mr. Perron loved music and played a number of different instruments. He also loved horses and hockey.
Mr. Perron is survived by his siblings Rollande Huppe, Jeannette Guilbeault, Yvette Rivard, Fernand (Gabrielle) Perron, Lucien (Jeanne d Arc) Perron, Therese Gauthier and Cecile Garand, all of Earlton, Gilbertte Guilbeault of Tracy, Quebec and Marcel (Norma) Perron of Timmins.
The funeral was arranged by McDonald Funeral Home in Englehart. The service was conducted at St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church in Earlton by Father Gilles Leblanc on May 31.
The family thanked the doctors and staff at the Englehart and District Hospital for their good care of Mr. Perron over the last year.
Philippe Denis
Philippe Denis died peacefully on May 28, 2004 at the Temiskaming Lodge in Haileybury at the age of 91.
Mr. Denis is survived by his beloved wife Marie Paule Julien and their children Fran oise (Edgar), Rolande (Serge), Denyse (John), Claude (Marie), Luce (Eddy) and Helene, 26 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son Yvan and his daughter Pauline.
The funeral service was held at Sacred Heart Church in New Liskeard. Father Firmin Lafond officiated.
Interment was in the family plot in Notre Dame du Nord, Quebec.
Pallbearers were Maurice Denis, Sylvain Denis, Michael Tripp, Denis Jacques, Florent Lachapelle and Michel Rh aume.
The family of Mr. Denis conveyed their sincere thanks to family, relatives and friends for their many acts of kindness during the loss of a dear husband and dear father, the late Philippe Denis, for flowers, cards, food, donations and words of comfort.
Special thanks to Dr. Don Davies, the nurses and all the staff at the Temiskaming Lodge, Perrin Funeral Chapel, Father Firmin Lafond and the ladies who prepared and served the lunch.

James Robert Taylor
James Robert Taylor of Port Charlotte, Florida died October 1, 2003 in Port Charlotte. He was diagnosed with bile duct and liver cancer on July 3 of that year.
Mr. Taylor was born in New Liskeard to George and Grace Taylor in 1940 and moved to the United States with his mother, father and sister Nancy Griffin in the early 50s. The family would return to Twin Lakes for summer holidays where Mr. Taylor built his last cottage in 1997. His family plan was to return every summer to the place he loved so much.
Mr. Taylor, an airline pilot for Pan American World Airways and Delta Airlines, married his wife Tamra in Kaneche, Hawaii, in April 1980.
Gerda Katherine Valtins
Gerda Katherine Valtins died June 5, 2004 at the Temiskaming Hospital at the age of 81.
Mrs. Valtins was predeceased by her parents, her husband Arvids, son Victor Hugo and sister Edith Lehnert.
She is survived by her loving children Ingrida Monika (husband Terry Fowler), Peter Edward Valtins (wife Pat), Zigfried Roland Valtins (wife Rhonda), Rudolph Arvids Valtins (wife Claire), Victoria Gerda (husband Gordon Wrights), Brigitta Angelica (husband Jim Hoover), Regina Veronica (husband David Hornbeck), and Edith Gloria (husband Wilfredo Martinez); grandchildren Scott and Jeffery, Teagan and Torey, Kayla, Dieter, Drue and Hailee, Allyson, Kelsie and Beth, Kate, Christopher and Jaime, Pierce and Penning, Chantal and Austin; and great-grandchildren Kelle-Lynne and Aidan Torin; and brother Hugo Blumenberg.
