ALLAN -- H. Stewart Allan passed away peacefully at the High River Hospital Nursing Home on November 3, 1997.
Stewart was born in Caley, Alberta on January 20, 1911.
He worked in Calgary in radio/television electronics for RCA and Zenith before settling back in Nanton in 1979.
Stew was a fisherman, a golfer, a curler, a musician and a "gentle" man who many knew as Ham Operator VE6BE.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Olive; a son Donald (Mary Jo) Allan of Calgary; a daughter Carol (Wayne) Long of Nanton; grandchildren, Steve (Adeline) Allan, and Janice Allan, and great-grandchild Chas Allan Atkinson, all of Calgary; grandchildren, Shauna Walker of Billings, Montana, and Jay Long of Bozeman, Montana; as well as a sister Alberta Coutts, Nanton; and brothers, Bill Allan, Vancouver, and Dave Allan, Mount Vernon, Washington; and sister-in-law Margaret, wife of brother Jack who died some years ago.
Funeral arrangements by Snodgrass Funeral Home to be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 7, 1997 at the Nanton United Church.
In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Society.

BROOKS -- William (Bill) Brooks passed away suddenly at the Foothills Hospital on November 3, 1997, at the age of 79 years.
Bill is lovingly survived by his wife Fay, and is the loving father of Karen (Gerry) Brown, Gary (Sheila) Mason, Kim Brooks, all of Okotoks, AB, and William G. Brooks of Cochrane, AB; his four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brother Norman (Dyllis) Brooks; and his sister Loreen Durch; as well as numerous nieces and cousins.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, his one brother, and his one sister.
Bill worked in his later years of his life for MacKillop Fertilizer Co. for eleven years.
He was a life member of the Order of Elks, Lodge No. 31, Okotoks.
He loved the outdoors and sports and especially dancing the Jitterbug.
He will be sadly missed by family and many friends.
The Memorial Service will be held from the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Friday, November 7, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment to follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
Donations may be directed to the Kidney Foundation of Canada (1717 Macleod Trail S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 2N8).
Arrangements and Cremation entrusted to MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY and FUNERAL HOME, 17 Avenue S.E. at Garden Road (3 km East of 68 Street S.E.). Telephone: 403-272-5555.

BROWN -- In loving memory of Gordon William Brown of Grande Prairie, Alberta who passed away suddenly October 20, 1997 at the age of 44 years.
Gordon was born and raised in Calgary, graduated from the University of Alberta and was employed by Alberta Forestry Services for eighteen years serving in High Level, Slave Lake, Lac La Biche, Fort McMurray, St. Albert and Grande Prairie.
He is survived by his wife Bernice; three children, Kristian, Andrea and Myles; one twin brother Graham (Sharon); two sisters, Linda (Ron) Oates, Carolyn Sage, all of Calgary.
Gordon was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Brown, his sister Margaret, grandparents, Rev. James Brown and Ethel Brown, and William and Louise Anderson.
The family and Rev. Michael Ward invite all family and friends for a celebration of Gordon's life, to be held at Central United Church (139 - 7 Avenue S.W.) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8.
Memorial donations are welcome for the trust fund set up for Gordon's children by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (A.U.P.E.) through the Alberta Treasury Branches or to the library at Central United Church.

CHOPPEN -- Marie (Knight). On Monday, November 3, 1997, Marie peacefully passed away.
Marie dedicated her life to being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
The memory of her will be especially cherished by her loving husband Jim, and family, Judy (Brian, Scott, Kelsey), Gloria (Rick, Kieran, Jamie-Marie), Barb (Ken, Lindsay, Abbigail), Debbie (Mike, Lauren), Jim (Sharon), Nancy (Michael, Gregory, Derek), Chuck (Lue) Knight; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Mary, and four brothers (Alf, Lyman, Stanley, Elwin).
Flowers gratefully declined.
Donations in memory of Marie to the M.S. Society, 11203 - 70 Street, Edmonton, T5B 1T1 or Diabetes Society, AFDR, 12834 - 163 Street, Edmonton, T5V 1K6.
Those wishing to celebrate Marie's life are invited to a Memorial Service on Friday, November 7 at 2:00 p.m.
Prayers and viewing on Thursday, November 6 between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m.

DANIELS-GRENIER -- Craig Douglas Daniels-Grenier passed away peacefully at the Agape Manor Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer, on October 30, 1997 at the age of 36 years.
Craig is survived by his beloved wife Joan.
He also leaves to mourn, his brothers, Gordon and Albert (Grenier), and sister Donna, father Anglebert and stepchildren, Kevin and Cheryl.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at FOSTER'S FUNERAL HOMES "Garden Chapel", 3220 - 4 Street N.W., on Wednesday, November 5, 1997 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 1307 - 14 Street S.W., on Thursday, November 6, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jesus Timato of Sacred Heart Church, Celebrant.

GLADWYN -- Joyce Enid. It is with the most profound sense of loss that the family of Joyce Enid Gladwyn (nee Morris) announce her passing from this earth on November 1, 1997 at the still young age of 72 years.
Joyce will be sorely missed by her loving husband Arthur, with whom she spent fifty wonderful years; and by her son Keith; and grandsons, Evan, Nigel and Graeme.
She also leaves behind her brothers, John (Jannette) Sparks of Calgary, and Kenneth (Glenis) Morris of Nottingham, England; as well as sister-in-law Beryl (Doug) Dance of Malvern, Worcester, England.
Joyce was born in Birmingham, England on February 11, 1925 and went to her final rest peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Joyce had a special love for life that was contagious to all of those who had the privilege to know her.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the wonderfully caring staff of the Agape Manor Hospice.
A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1635 - 17 Avenue S.W., on Wednesday, November 5, 1997 at 11:00 a.m.
Interment to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial tributes in Joyce's name may be made to the organization of the donors choice.
