PLAMONDON, Louis Joseph
On May 20, 2001 Mr. Louis Joseph Plamondon of Ponoka, Alberta, formerly of Bonnyville, Alberta, passed away at the age of 50 years.
Louis is survived by his loving mother: Alice of Bonnyville, AB; common-law wife: Barb of Ponoka, AB; two sons: Louis (Jr.) of Edson, AB, Jamie of Edson, AB; daughter: Diane of Edson, AB; two brothers: George (Debbie) Plamondon of Willingdon, AB, Jerry Plamondon of Bonnyville, AB; five sisters: Irene Plamondon of Edmonton, AB, Laurette (Art) Plouffe of St. Paul, AB, Rhonda (George) Lamoureux of Red Deer, AB, Maryanne (Ted) Beck of Blackfalds, AB, Annette (Armand) Gaugler of Caroline, AB. Louis was predeceased by his father: Henry; three brothers: Felix, Johnny, Joe; two sisters: Dianne, Rita.
A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, May 24, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Memento Funeral Chapel, Bonnyville, Alberta with Father Real Levasseur officiating. Cremation followed.
Arrangements were in care of Memento Funeral Chapel, Bonnyville and Cold Lake (780) 826-3113. Don, Elda and Jeff Thackeray, Funeral Directors. ‘Continuing the Family Tradition’

ULANICKI, Mike
On Friday, May 18, 2001 Mr. Mike Ulanicki of Bonnyville passed away at the age of 92 years.
Mike will be sadly missed by his loving wife Madeline of Bonnyville, sons: Roman (Joan) of Bonnyville, Tom (Doris) of Bonnyville, daughters: Mary (Amil) of Edmonton, Helen (Tom) of Iron River, daughter-in-law Jean of Bonnyville, sisters: Mary Chubey of Edmonton, Olga Sawchuk of Edmonton, brother: Nick (Anne) of Bonnyville, nine grandchildren: Delores, Kathy (Hayward), Kelly (Denis), Terry (Kelly), David (Andria), Roxanne, Rachel (Andrew), Curtis, Kevin and seven great grandchildren: Stewart, Lisa, Crystal (Braden), Jordon, Michael, Kristen, Jaelyn and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mike was predeceased by his parents, Natalia and Roman Ulanicki, mother and father-in-law, Sophia and Alex Lubas, brother: John Ulanicki, two grandchildren, Susan and Robert, and two brothers-in-law: John Chubey and William Sawchuk.
Prayer services were held on Sunday, May 20, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Elias Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Bonnyville, AB.
Funeral service was held on Monday, May 21, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elias Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Bonnyville with Father John Lipinski officiating. Internment followed at the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were: Roland Ulanicki, Dan Chubey, Nick Paskaluk and George Hutskal.
Pallbearers were: David Kicia, Terry Kicia, Curtis Wakulchyk, Kevin Wakulchyk, Jordan Tracy and Michael Kicia.
Donations in memory of Mike may be made to the St. Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Building Fund or the Bonnyville Palliative Care Program, c/o 4304 - 50 Ave., Bonnyville, AB T9N 1C4.

BUSH, F. David
On Wednesday, August 1, 2001, Mr. F. David Bush of Bonnyville, Alberta passed away at the age of 71 years.
Dave was one of four sons born to Francis and Harold Bush. He completed his undergraduate degree at McGill University and his MBA at Western. He chose accounting as his career path and relocated from his hometown of Montreal to open his own business in Bonnyville in 1977. He always took an active role in the community, even winning the Bonnyville’s Citizen of the Year Award in 1988. He was always involved in his children’s early sporting endeavours through coaching and administrative roles. His hobbies included squash, soccer, singing and an active lifestyle.
Dave is survived by his special friend: Lily Bodnar of Bonnyville, his loving children: two sons: Ron of Bonnyville, Robert of Bonnyville; three daughters: Beverley (Rob) Potter of Edmonton, Barb (David) Dauphinais of Edmonton, Brenda (Phil) Lavoie of Sherwood Park; brother: John Bush of Montreal, PQ; aunt: Winnie of PQ; fourteen grandchildren: Lily’s children: Lori (Patrick) Wright of Spruce Grove, Val (Brad) Metrunec of Bonnyville; Lily’s three grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dave was predeceased by his parents: Harold and Frances Bush; two brothers: Bill and Allan.
A Service of Remembrance was held on Saturday, August 4, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s United Church, Bonnyville, Alberta with Reverend David Lehmann officiating. Cremation has taken place.
Honorary pallbearers were: Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 183 members and Bonnyville Lions Members.
Memorial tributes in memory of Dave may be sent to the Bonnyville Lions Club towards the purchase of a Handibus.

KESSLER, Kayliegh Dawn
On Friday, July 27, 2001 Kayleigh Dawn Kessler of of Bonnyville, Alberta passed away at the age of six years. Kayleigh is survived by her parents: Mike and Denise Kessler of Bonnyville, AB, brother Tyler of Bonnyville, AB: sisters: Tiffany Kessler of Bonnyville, AB. Sharon of Bonnyville, AB; grandparents: Herman and Delores Kessler of Bonnyville; Joseph and Sharon Lauzon of Lloydminster, AB; great grandparents Agnes Klassen of Bonnyville, AB.; Eva Geisler of Bonnyville, AB; special friend: Irene Rettman of Thorhild, AB; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kayleigh was predeceased by her grandfather: Colin Funk, three great-grandfathers: Allen Funk, Abraham Klassen, August Geisler; two great grandmothers: Helen Kessler, Myrtle Funk.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 31, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Memento Funeral Chapel, Bonnyville AB with Reverend Robert Adam officiating. Cremation followed the service. Memorial tributes in memory of Kayleigh may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.
Kayleigh’s family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Lavoie, Carole Moon, home care staff and all the wonderful staff and all the other helpful people who cared for Kayleigh.

DESROSIERS, Bernice
On Friday, October 5, 2001 Bernice Elizabeth Desrosiers nee: Blanchard of Bonnyville, passed away at the age of 55 years.
Bernice is survived by her husband Jerome Desrosiers of Athabasca; children, Keith (Irene) Forsyth of Bonnyville, Jay Desrosiers of Athabasca, and Tyler Desrosiers of Red Deer, her grandchildren, Barbie, Kyle and Savannah, her mother Georgette Blanchard of Fort Kent, her brothers and sisters, Ervin (Faye) Blanchard of Loon Lake, SK, Gordon (Karen) Blanchard of Lloydminster, Jenny (Louie) Doonanco of Bonnyville, Diane (Albert) Doonanco of Cold Lake, Rod (Deb) Blanchard of Cold Lake, Brian (Mary Jane) Blanchard of Bonnyville, Linda (Danny) Tizzard of La Loche, SK, and John Blanchard of Fort Kent, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Bernice was predeceased by her father Elgin Blanchard and her nephew, Tiger Doonanco.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Real Levasseur officiating at Northern Lights Funeral Chapel, Bonnyville.

FLATHERS, Kelly
On Wednesday, January 23, 2002 Mr. Kelly Douglas Flathers of Saskatoon, SK passed away at the age of 49 years.
Kelly is survived by his wife Judy of Saskatoon, SK, daughter April (Greg) of Blackfalds, AB, stepson Dallas of Sherwood Park, AB, grandchildren Mackenzie and Cydney, sister Colleen (Hubert) Brien of Cold Lake, AB, brothers Ronald (Eva) Flathers of Ardmore, AB, and Morley (Marlene) Flathers of Bonnyville, AB, and 11 nieces and nephews, and one great nephew. Kelly was predeceased by his parents John and Doris Flathers.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 26, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at Northern Lights Funeral Chapel in Bonnyville with Reverend Jope Langejans officiating. Interment followed at the Rat Lake Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Kelly may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1200 College Plaza, 8215 - 112 St., Edmonton, AB T6G 2C8.

ESPETVEIDT, Louise
Louise Espetveidt (nee Martin) was born on Jan. 12, 1933 in Bonnyville, the second child of Louis and Iley Martin. She was raised on the family farm at the Beaver River (LaCorey) and attended school in the LaCorey area. Louise married Donald Espetveidt and they lived in the Bonnyville area until 1963. Their home was then made at Dixonville, AB where they farmed. Louise and Donald were blessed with five children.
Louise was predeceased by her parents Louis and Isley Martin, husband Donald, brother Bernard “Bud” Martin, daughter Rhonda and son Lenard.
Louise is survived by her son Martin (Lucille) Espetveidt of Grimshaw, AB, daughter Geraldine (Brian) Kristensen of Dixonville, daughter Lorraine (Marc) St. Hilaire of St. Anne’s, Manitoba, grandchildren Vyla (Tony) Trimper, Nels, Shane, Dominique, Leila, Kaitlin, Martin, Nicholas, Noel, Tyler and Katrina, sister Nell Gambell of Westlock, brother Ray (Tina) Martin of Bonnyville, brother Gilbert (Olive) Martin of Bonnyville, brother David (Cheryl) Martin of Bonnyville, and sister-in-law Aida Martin of Calgary.
Louise Espetveidt passed away Jan. 6, 2002 at St. Anne’s, Manitoba. Funeral service was held Jan. 10, 2002 at St. Anne’s, Manitoba.
Memorial service was held on Jan. 12, 2002 at Dixonville, AB. Cremation has taken place, burial to take place at Dixonville, AB.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Society or Strang Presbyterian Church, Dixonville, AB.

FOX, Mavis Elaine
Mavis Elaine Fox passed away unexpectedly on January 28, 2002 at her home in Wainwright, AB.
Born on January 18, 1926 in Edmonton, Mavis spent most of her childhood and teen years in and around Bonnyville, AB before moving to Edmonton, Delta, BC, Vernon, BC and returning to Alberta to Wainwright in 1999.
She leaves to mourn three daughters - Shirley (Doug) Janssen, Bobbi Fox (Larry Hansen) and Healther (Doug) Buck; three granddaughters Carmen, Kristie and Amber and one great granddaughter Natasha, as well as sisters Claire Gaines, Jackie MacGillivray and Eileen Feland and brother Jim Jesney. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Rose Jesney, by her husband, Herman Fox and by brothers Bill Jesney and Bobbie (in childhood).
A graveside service will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of one’s choice.
