TANAKA, SHUZO - Peacefully at home on Sunday, March 9, 2008 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Grace (Ozawa), father of Norman and Bruce. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at St. Mary's Anglican Church, 2600 Powder Point Road, Nanoose Bay, on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 2:00 pm with reception to follow. Special thanks to Dr. Richard Henderson, Dr. Christopher Jones, the staff of the Nanaimo Dialysis Unit and Reverend Guy Bellerby and the congregation of St. Mary's in Nanoose Bay. LARGE (Clifford), Dorothy Saturday, 08 Mar 2008

Dorothy Large (Clifford) was born at Bannerman, Manitoba on February 6, 1920, passed away peacefully March 8, 2008 at NRGH.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Harry Large, son Christopher (Amy), grandchildren Crystal and William.
They as a family went back to England when Dorothy was six, but only stayed about 9 months. They then came back to Canada and lived in Toronto for a short time before coming back to Manitoba and lived at Killarney and went to school there during the war years and until 1955 she lived in Winnipeg. In 1955 they moved to Nanaimo.
She was a member of St. Paul's Church in Nanaimo. December 22, 1962 she married Harry Large and moved to Qualicum Beach to become a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a strong member of St. Mark's Anglican Church in Qualicum Beach and she was a member of the ladies guild and a past president. She was also a member of the W.A for the Qualicum beach branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. She was also a founding member of the Qualicum Beach historical and Museum society. She drove for SOS as a volunteer driver for 25 years. During her working years, she worked for Eaton's stores in Winnipeg, and later the old Eaton's store in downtown Nanaimo, where she was in charge of the shoe department.
If anyone would like to give a donation in her name, they can make it to St. Mark's Anglican Church in Qualicum Beach, or the Salvation Army.
A memorial service will be held at St. Mark's Anglican Church, 138 W. Hoylake Rd, off of Memorial Rd in Qualicum Beach on Friday, March 14, 2008 at 2 pm. Reception will be held in the church hall following the service.

Alexander Por, late of Abbotsford, B.C., passed away at the MSA Hospital on October 27, 2007, after a lengthy illness, at the age of 85 years.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Anna; sisters Emily and Elsie; sons Richard (Judy), Stan (Hellen), Ron (Dianne), Bart (Kristine); daughter Carol; grandchildren Michael (Jennifer), Kelly (Clint), Bradley, Kristopher (Ashley), Brendan, Grayson, Casey, Brianna, Robert, Lexi and great-grandson Jacob.
Alex was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. His sense of humour and willingness to help others will be missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Alex's life will be held on Saturday, November 10 from 2:00 - 6:00 pm at the home of Ron and Dianne Por. 34229 Woodbine Cres., Abbotsford, B.C.

Peter entered the Lord's Kingdom at the age of 73 after a lengthy battle with emphysema. He leaves behind his wife Helen and six children, Perry (Yvonne), Bonnie, Lana (Fred) Flore, Shelley (Rod) Rempel, Rodger (Marsha), Patti (Ed) Cournoyer; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Survived also by one brother and six sisters.
Viewing takes place Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Sevenoaks Alliance Church, Community Room (south entrance) 7:00-8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 2, 2007 at Sevenoaks Alliance Church, 12:00 noon with a luncheon to follow.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Peter's name to Alpha Canada.

Louise died peacefully in sleep with her children at her side. Born in Kenlis, NWT she graduated from UBC in 1922 where she was affiliated with Gamma Phi Beta. She married fellow student, Ernest Clarke in 1925. They raised their 3 children in Abbotsford and were both very active in community affairs. During Louise's tenure as Chair of School District #34, 4 new schools were opened. She will be remembered with affection by many former students from her time as a teacher. She and Ernest enjoyed many travels together before his death in 1975. In addition to her children, Joyce (Wesson), Pat, and Carol (Duffus), she is survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
The family is grateful to all the staff at MSA Manor Home who provided such thoughtful care to our mother during her final years. A private memorial will be held at a later date.

BYLEVELD - Adrian, aged 79, of Courtenay, passed away peacefully at the home of his friends, Bill and Pat Huddleston, following a brief illness. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his family in Holland and New Zealand and many friends. In his leisure, Adrian practised his skill as a talented artist.
A Memorial Mass will take place on Thursday, December 6th at 9:00 am from Christ The King Roman Catholic Church, with Father Paul Murphy, Celebrant.

Esther Ruth Senft, born on November 7, 1919, to William and Annie Senft, passed away October 26, 2007 at the MSA Hospital in Abbotsford after a fall 8 weeks prior.
Esther married Robert Senft on October 29, 1938 and to this union was born 2 sons, Ron and Ken.
Esther was pre-deceased by her husband Robert George on December 11, 1997, also her parents, William (Annie) Senft, sister Edna and a brother Edwin. She is survived by her loving family: children, Ron (Elpha) and Ken (Shirl); 3 grandchildren, Sheldon, Cameron (Kaylene) Senft, Shannon (Dacey) Schmidt; 6 great-grandchildren, Shayla, Carrissa, Whitney, Brandon Senft, Madeline and Ella Schmidt; 6 sisters, 3 brothers; 2 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in-law and all their spouses, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Esther was a member of the Sevenoaks Walking Club, and Sevenoaks Alliance Church.
A Graveside Service was held on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Musselwhite Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at Sevenoaks Alliance Church. If friends so desire donations may be made to Alliance Church Missions.

Trevor James John Ewing passed away suddenly on October 25, 2007. Trevor will be sadly missed by his mother, Tamilee Bye, his father John Ewing, his sister Faith, his maternal grandparents Warren and Sharon Grosland, his paternal grandparents, Charles and Winifred Ewing, uncle Rick (Sandy) Ewing, aunts Dorothy and Danielle, extended family and many, many friends.

Dietrich went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Monday October 22, 2007. He will be sadly missed by Katherine, his wife of 62 years, and his children Lorna (Rod) Jones, Wanda (Warren) Nikkel, Rob (Joy) Rempel, Karen (Allen) Giebelhaus and Steve (Ruth) Rempel as well as 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dietrich was pre-deceased by his sister Irma Willms and brother Ernie Rempel. He is survived by 3 sisters Annie Peters, Katie Willms and Helene Klassen and one brother, Menno Rempel.
Born in Russia, Dietrich emigrated to Canada as a child, he lived and worked in the Abbotsford area for most of his life. As a pioneer in the South Poplar community during the Depression, he attended South Poplar and Mt. Lehman Superior schools. Most of his working years were involved in the construction industry, both locally and around the province.
More than anything else, Dietrich loved his family. He loved his wife and his children. He loved each of his grandchildren and prayed for them individually each day. He leaves a legacy of love for his family and devotion to Jesus.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 25 at 2:00 pm in Central Heights Church, Pastor Nick Dyck officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mennonite Brethren Mission Service International (MBMSI).
