Born in McLennan, Alberta, February 29th, 1936, died peacefully at home on December 3rd, 2007.
Leaving behind, a loving wife Gail. Sons Alan (Debbie), Darin (Cheri), Ron (Emily) and daughter-in-law Shannon. Six grandchildren with one more on the way.
Survived by brothers Normand, Paul, Marcel, Denis, Henri & Guy; sisters Tina, Cecile, Yvonne, Doreen and special sister-in-law Yvonne; several twisted sister-in-laws, and many relatives, also close family friends.
Pre-deceased by both parents Auguste & Germaine; brothers Lionel, Richard & Camille; and sister Helen.
Roger was a heavy duty diesel mechanic for 40 years and was a long time member of the Legion. He enjoyed his many trips to Yuma and made lots of friends while there.
The Family would like to thank Doctor Loughhead, nurses and all the Hospice workers for their kind support.

It is with great sadness that the Bowerman family announces the passing of our dear mother Frances Patricia Norma Bowerman (nee Allan) after a short illness.
Fran was an extremely good wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Fran was always full of life with a great love and compassion for others and was a dedicated member of her church and her community.
Fran will be laid to rest on Wednesday December 12th at St. Columba Presbyterian Church in Parksville, B.C. by her dear friend, The Rev. Robert Kerr.
Fran is survived by Doug, her loving husband of 50 years, her 4 children MaryJane (Sergio), Joanne (Craig), Allan (Nancy) and David (Tanya), her 9 grandchildren: Chelsea, Cailey, Adam, Coel, Luke, Brooke, Khiana, Benjamin, Jason and her sister Helen Allan.
Fran was pre-deceased by her brothers Ben and Don Allan. Fran was born in Toronto and spent her childhood in Montreal. She spent time in Flin Flon, Manitoba before moving to Kitimat in northern B.C. where she married Doug, worked and raised her family until 1977. Fran, Dpoug and family then moved to Sherwood Park, AB before retiring to Qualicum Beach in 1990. We all love you Fran and will miss you dearly but we take comfort knowing you are in Gods hands. Born March 15, 1913 in High River, Alberta and long-time Qualicum Beach resident, Walter passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 1st, 2007.
Survived by his loving daughters, Helen and Jean (Alberta), stepdaughter Holly (Nanaimo) and stepson Kerry (Qualicum Beach), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also remembered by his special friends, Dilys, Ed, Johnny, Betty and Dennis. The family would like to thank the staff at Trillium Lodge for their care and kindness.

William passed away Nov. 30th in palliative care at Nanaimo Hospital. Bill battled with lung cancer for 2 years. followed by a massive stroke.
He is survived by his wife Diana, married 54 years. Living in Parksville, the last 20 years. Also four sisters and their families in Ontario. Betty Harris, Barbara Wirsching, Ruth Shaw and Helen Bray.
Bill was raised on a farm in Pickering, Ont. by his grandparents. Drove big 18 wheelers all across Canada and the U.S. for years. Also worked as a construction machinist in B.C. including the tar sands in Alberta and the Revelstoke damn in B.C. A passionate and courageous man, known to speak his mind. Dedicated to his friends and family. After retiring, he still continued to work with his pick-up truck locally. Constantly, creatively, renovating his house and garden. He was an original. He was my hero and he will be missed by many.
Cremated Dec. 5th at Yates, he requested no service.

passed away peacefully at Sagebrush Lodge in Osoyoos, B.C. on November 28, 2007 at the age of 89 years. She was born at Denni-son Station (Aldergrove), B.C. on September 26, 1918 as the youngest of ten of a pioneer family. Phyllis was pre-deceased by her husband John in 1990, and her son Gordon in 1990, her ve brothers and four sisters. She will be dearly missed by her sons Jack (Cecile) of Kamloops, and Tom (Barb) of Qualicum; daughters Joan Osborne of Sandbach, Eng-land and Louise (Ed) Fossen of Rock Creek, BC; daughter-in-law Jane (Gordon) Pope of Campbell River.; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. Mom made everywhere she lived beautiful with her owers and love of gardening. Her many friends were always special to her. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Our sincere thanks go out to the staff of Sagebrush Lodge for their loving care and friendship that they gave our mother and the sup-port extended to the family.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 4th at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church in Osoyoos. Interment will follow in the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery with a reception held afterwards in the lower church hall.

Born in Winnipeg on February 5, 1936, Pat slipped away with grace and dignity in the early hours of November 25, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Lovingly remembered and honoured by her husband Raul of nearly 53 years, son James, son Mike (Suzanne), daughter Julianne (Gabe), son Bill (Monica), son Christian (Karen), grandchildren Jessica, Erika, Natasha, Kimberley, Axel, Hannah-Lise and her many friends in the communities of Parksville, Qualicum and Nanaimo. Pat was a very special lady with the gift of humour, compassion and a love of dance, music and her garden. She insisted - and was successful on living a full life with all of what life had to offer. She had a pioneering spirit second to none and we will sorely miss her. The Bernoe family would like to especially thank her doctor, Dr. Richard Henderson who showed such care and compassion for Pat before and during her illness - thank you. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Margie at Community Care Services for her support and care for Pat - thank you.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 30 at 1 pm at the First Memorial Funeral Chapel at 1720 Bowen Road Nanaimo. Pat was a long-time supporter of the Salvation Army and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army in our community in her name.

Born in Quesnel, B.C., February 8th, 1927, surrounded by loved ones passed peacefully into the arms of His Savior and Lord Jesus on the evening of November 25th, 2007. He will be tremendously missed and is survived by his wife Vivian Lockhart, daughters Sheila Lockhart, Carol Bednarski (Ted), Catharine Pollock (Ron), Alison Lockhart (Tony Vickery), his ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many dear friends. Alan was a man of great faith who valiantly and steadfastly stood for the truth. An educated gentleman, veteran, historian and writer, he applied his life experience and knowledge with passion to every aspect of his life. The family name in latin 'CORDA SERATO PANDO' means ~ one who breaks open locked hearts. We invite all who knew Alan, to celebrate his life at St. Marks Anglican Church, 138 W. Hoy Lake Rd, Qualicum Beach where we will commend Alan to the Lord Jesus on Saturday, December the 8th at 1:30pm. Our family would like to extend our thanks to Dr. Rachael Carson and the fourth floor nursing staff of the Nanaimo Regional Hospital. Born in Nanaimo, B.C. June 20, 1918 Paula passed away peacefully Nov. 24, 2007 in Parksville, B.C. aged 89.
She was pre-deceased by husband Vince Walters and 2nd. husband Robert Stephen.
Left to remember her are her children Judy (Ken) Hackwell, Ted (Sylvia) Walters, Helen Fletcher, and Vicki Walters, sister Helen Allen (Malcolm) and brother Ross (Bette) Margeson; three nieces and one nephew in the United States, grandchildren Rick (Tawny) Walters, Valerie (Rob) Kinglin, Allison (Dave) Kopek, Susan Claydon, Sheri Hackwell, Dawnmarie (Michael) Philip, Timothy Fletcher, Brendan Fletcher and Great-grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan, Kurtis, Jeffrey, Cami, Parker and Nathan.
Paula was raised and educated in Nanaimo and lived most of her life on Vancouver Island. She was an avid reader and life-long learner with artistic talents that took shape in her beautiful gardens everywhere she lived and in her water colour paintings and photography. A member of the Victoria Outdoor Club, she loved the outdoors, oceans, mountains, hiking and camping on Vancouver Island. Paula sang in many choirs from school days to Parksville Baptist Church choir, travelled to Israel and Europe before her retirement from the Department of Education with the B.C. government. She added adventure to life by learning to fly land and float planes with the Victoria Flying Services.
Through her resiliency, resourcefulness and determination, Paula survived many of the difficulties that life presented to her. Paula was a Christian and member of Parksville Baptist Church.
Family and friends are invited to a service of remembrance on December 3rd. at 2:30 Parksville Baptist Church, 550 Pym Rd. Parksville, B.C.

Forrester, Hal passed away peacefully after a valiant battle against ALS (Lou Gehrig Disease) at the age of 86 on Dec. 7th, 2007 in the City of Parksville.
He is survived by his loving wife Janette, sons Bob (Shelley), Bill (Laura), Brian (Terri), daughter Meril (Rick), and his nine precious grandchildren.
At his request, there will be a private family funeral.
