Erika passed away into the presence of the Lord on October 30, 2007. Left to mourn is her mother, Margaret Kosack (Thiessen) and cousins, Marg (Mike) Frantz of Oklahoma and Helmut Klassen of Alberta. Predeceased by her father John Kosack on March 15, 1994.
Erika was born in Neuremberg, Germany to her loving parents Margaret and John Kosack. With them, she immigrated to Canada, first to Yarrow, then Matsqui, and finally to Clearbrook where she resided for the past 50 years. Erika was a participant of the MSA Society for Community Living day Program for 52 years and was a member of the Clearbrook MB Church. Erika worked at Wildwood and made wedding flowers. She bowled for 24 years at Dogwood Lanes and loved to ride on the Handidart. She was always happy, well behaved, and touched many with her love for life and people. She will be missed by family, friends, caregivers, and Handidart drivers.
Graveside service was Monday, November 5, 2007 at 9:30 am at the Maclure Rd. Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am at Clearbrook MB Church. Donations in memory of Erika may be given to the MSA Society for Community Living.

Katie passed away January 6, 2008. She is survived by her mother Sue, father John, sister Alexis, grandfather John Kloes, grandmother Belva McKenzie, and many other aunts, uncles and numerous other relatives.
Katie had a strong work ethic and love of people and friends. She had a great sense of humour and was liked by all and loved by many. Her radiance touched everyone. Katie was taken too soon and will be forever remembered.
A celebration of Katie’s life will be held at Bradner Hall, 5305 Bradner Road, Abbotsford Sunday, January 13, 2008 at 2:00 pm.

Helen was born August 23, 1915 and passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Menno Hospital. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband Maurice, and her sister Alice, her only sibling. She will be missed by her special friends and caregiver.
Many thanks to all the staff at the Menno Home and Menno Hospital for the excellent care given to Sylvia. May the Lord bless you.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2008 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford; viewing will be at 9:00 a.m. followed by the service at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Hazelwood Cemetery, Abbotsford.

Bernadette Ann (nee Conway) suddenly passed away on Jan. 4, 2008 at MSA Hospital with her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter at her side.
Born July 31, 1937 in Liverpool, England, emigrated to Canada in 1956. A Leo and truly lionhearted. Loving mother to Ann, Mary (Michael), Stephen (Paula) and Vincent (Charleen); grandmother to Peter (Angie), David, Sarah, Meghan, Bridget, Aubrie and Malcolm; great grandmother to Abigail; sister to John, Bernard, Eugene, Joseph, Philomena and Clare. A gifted lady, Bernadette will always be remembered as a courageous mother who sacrificed, protected and lovingly provided for her family who were the centre of her life. She will always be loved and forever missed by her family, her gal “PALS” and many other friends.

Frank passed into the presence of his Lord on January 4, 2008 at the age of 76 years. He was pre-deceased by two brothers. He is survived by his loving family, Martha, his wife of 55 years; 5 children; Elizabeth (Henry) Penner, Peter (Agnes), Maria (Yuri) Geng, Will (Luise) and Agnes Schmidt; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Also by 2 sisters in Germany and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 8 in King Road Mennonite Church, followed by burial at Maclure Road Cemetery.

Emalyn Burns (Conrad), a very special lady, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2008 with family at her side. Predeceased by her husband Jack King and four siblings. Emalyn is survived by her son David (Sally) King; granddaughters Mary (Rick) Cormier, Liz (Jim) Simpson, Kirsti King; grandson David MacIntosh; 6 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; her sister Maida Christner; nephew Millard (Asami) Christner; niece Ella-May (Dick) Green and many other nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly. Emalyn had a full and wonderful life. Her vivacious personality was appreciated in all communities where she lived, Olds, Vancouver, Chilliwack, and the past 25 years in Abbotsford. B.C. Among Emalyn’s accomplishments she was an independent businesswoman, owning first Suzette's Ladieswear in Vancouver and then Jennifer’s Ladies Apparel in Chilliwack. She was a lifetime Soroptimist, and a choir member at Calvin Presbyterian Church. Emalyn loved to play the piano, travel, she was an avid reader, rockhound and horticulturalist. Above all, Emalyn (Soozie, Grandma, Auntie) cherished her family and friends. She touched many lives and will lovingly be remembered by all.

Sharon was born on February 6, 1939 in Timmins, Ontario. She passed away peacefully after successfully surviving an extensive battle with cancer, only to be defeated shortly after with pneumonia on January 3, 2008 in Prince George, B.C. Sharon is survived by her loving son Richard Lee Oldenborger; daughter-In-Law Lennie Oldenborger; Sharon’s granddaughter Dasha Lee Oldenborger, and her siblings David, Micheal and Colleen of the Wigley family. In Sharon’s last few years, she enjoyed the supportive relationships of her neighbors in Prince George whom became her best friends; Janet and Irvin Bleich, and their grandchildren Autum-Lee, Dawson, and Denae, with further care and support from Karin and Paul Martwig and Gerry and Lynne Bomford. These wonderful people made every effort to support Sharon during her times of illness, when her immediate family was geographically too distant to meet these daily needs. We are eternally grateful to those giving friends/neighbors in Prince George who were so kind and supportive.
Sharon championed the development, design and construction of Galaxy Bowladrome in Abbotsford, B.C. in 1969. She was instrumental in respect to the success of this family operation. Sharon chose the name “Galaxy” with the goal that everyone whom would patronize this establishment would be a star.
My Mother Sharon has positively influenced many people and organizations in her life despite the obstacles that challenged her. We are proud to announce that Sharon has willed a generous amount of her estate to the S.P.C.A. and the World Wildlife Fund. We are confident that her contributions will make this world better for those that can not speak for themselves.

ADOLPH, Dorothy Tressa passed away peacefully in Mission, BC. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Shirley (Tom) Tabian and their children Linda (John) Baker, Sharon Schrieber, Ron (Kathy) Tabian, Carol Neuman and Bob Tabian. Her son Jack (Pat) Swift and their children Jackie Swift and Sara, Shanon Thomson, Dean (Julie) Swift, Sean (Susan) Swift, Danny (Shelley) Swift; daughter Wendy Dubois and son Jeff; son Brian Mullen and his children Aaron, Jake, Nolan and Tressa; sisters Isabel Lang and Muriel Forsyth as well as her 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Dorothy is pre-deceased by husbands, John Swift, Don Mullen, Roy Waterman and Dan Adolf as well as her brother Joe Clifford and great grandson Jamie Martens.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 1921 Griffiths Ave. in Abbotsford at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Dorothy’s name to a charity of your choice.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Timothy Charles Selbie on January 3, 2008. Tim was born May 2, 1960 in Creston, B.C. He passed away after a courageous battle with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Tim was pre-deceased by his father, Raymond and is survived by his mother Alice, his brothers John and Campbell (Lisa), his daughter Nicole and his sons, Dustin and Dillon. He will be fondly remembered for his infectious grin and warm heart. Tim had an incredible gift for carving and many of his works are on display in Crawford Bay. We are very grateful to those friends and neighbours in Crawford Bay and Kelowna who have been so kind and supportive to Tim and his sons.
Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Tim's life Sunday, January 20, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Silverdale Community Hall, 8760 McLean St., Mission. In lieu of flowers, donations to a trust fund for Dustin and Dillon are greatly appreciated.
