Ricky John Kocajda, late of Abbotsford, formerly of Laval, Quebec passed away on January 2, 2008 at the age of 43, at MSA Hospital.
He is survived by his son Shayne, his father John, mother Rita, ­sister Nicole (Bob) and their children Scott and Brian.
Ricky a.k.a. “Rick” loved life, ­traveling and most importantly his son Shayne. Rick was a true free spirit and he will be deeply missed.
Please join the family to celebrate his life on Saturday, January 5, 2008 from 3:30-6:00 p.m. in the tea room of Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC.

Mr. Henry Neufeld passed away on March 7 2008 at the age of 92 in Abbotsford B.C. He was pre-deceased by his infant daughter, Parents and 8 siblings. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Sara, daughter Almut (Gerd) Loewen of Abbotsford, son Hartwig (Tina) of Lone Butte, son Hugo (Helen) of Aldergrove, daughter Edith (Egon) Fedrau of Abbotsford, daughter Kathy (Hartmut) Walde of Langley, son Ted (Elvena) of White Rock, son Karl (Johanna) of Surrey, 33 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held on March 12 2008 at Maclure Mennonite Cemetery with Pastor Ernst Janzen officiating, and a memorial service followed at King Road Mennonite church with Pastor Heins Schartner officiating.

Early morning, March 6, 2008 a wonderful brother, son and nephew. James Percy Saunders, better known as "Jim, " peacefully passed away in his sleep. Born in 1951, Jim was 57 years old at the time of his passing. Jim was pre-deceased by his father, mother, brother, brother-in-law (Larry Becker) and many friends.
Formerly a resident of Sardis; Jim is survived by his sister Edna Becker, Aunt Marg, Boyd, Uncle Jim and Aunt Don Baker, cousins and his extended family at Grant Street East, Clearbrook. A graveside service for Jim Saunders will be held early summer.

NIKAIDO, "Frank" Kosaku passed away peacefully at home at the age of 78 on March 6, 2008. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 40 years, Toyoko. Frank is survived by 5 sisters, 3 brothers and is pre-deceased by his parents and 4 sisters. Funeral Services will be held at Aldergrove United Church located at 2623 272 Street, Aldergrove on Thursday March 13, 2008 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers or Koden donations made in Frank's name to the BC Cancer Agency, Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation or to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

Katherine Anne Carter (Murphy) passed away after a brief and courageous battle with cancer, with her husband Chris, and friend Ernie by her side, at the age of 48. She is survived by her loving husband Chris Calverley, mother and father, Noela Langtree and Roy Murphy, sister Peggy Murphy (Steve and nephew Jesse Wheeler), aunts Joan, Margaret and Bernice, and uncles George and Chuck. Kathy will be fondly remembered for her work with school children; especially for her loving, kind and gentle spirit and her ready smile. She loved and valued her friendships. Her family and friends will never forget her unconditional love, support and generosity. She will be greatly missed. A “Celebration of Life” service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 32420 7th ave, Mission, B.C. A special thanks to the nurses and doctors at both Mission and MSA Abbotsford hospitals, especially Leah. Donations may be made to the Mission Hospice Society.

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dad Menno Toews at his home in Chetwynd, BC on March 4th, 2008.
Menno was born in Steinbach, Manitoba on August 24, 1943. Shortly after that, his parents move the family to British Columbia. They first settled in Rosedale and eventually the Abbotsford area where Menno's father started a family business that is still owned and operated by the Toews family today.
He is pre-deceased by his parents Peter and Katherine Toews.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chetwynd Baptist Church. Pastor Bill Evans officiated. Interment was held in the Tuscola Mountain Cemetery.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. After a 2 year battle with cancer, Gerry passed away suddenly but peacefully at the age of 66.
He is survived by his loving wife, Hazel, daughter, Karen (James), grandchildren, Caleb and Hannah and mother-in-law Agnes. He is survived also by his siblings, Wessie (Jelle), Theo, Lieuwe (Elaine), Marijan and John (Elise) and numerous nieces and nephews in Holland and England. He is pre-deceased by his parents and older sister Rika.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 7 at 4 p.m. at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 2597 Bourquin Crescent East, Abbotsford, B.C. 604-859-6902. Reception to follow.

With Deep sadness we announce the passing of our Mom, Wife, Oma, Sister, and Friend, Martina Vanderstarren. Mom fought with strength and courage to stay with us as long as she could and died peacefully on March 2, 2008. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John; sons Alex (Frances), Rob (Mary), Andy (Gaby), John (Cheryl); daughter, Wendy; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and sister, Ria & sister-in-law Riet in Holland.
Martina was born July 4, 1931 in The Netherlands. She came to Canada with her husband John and young son Alex in 1956 and settled in Ontario. In 1974 they moved their family to BC and came to Abbotsford in 1979. All who knew Mom will remember her wonderful sense of humor and her deep love for her children, grandchildren, and husband. We will love and miss you all the days of our lives, Mom. God Bless

Edward "Ed" David, passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife, Linda. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Prince George Rotary Hospice House. He was pre-deceased by his father David Koop & brothers Harold & Samuel (Sam) Koop. Ed is survived by daughters; Tracy (Vin), son by choice, & Cara, granddaughters; Tamara & Kayla, mother Hulda, sisters; Esther (Roland), Gloria( Fred), Joy (Walter), Sharon(Mike), Faith (Cliff), brothers Dan (Doris) & Paul (Jan), sister-in-law Jean & numerous other relatives and many, many friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15 at 11 am, at Northside Community Church, 33507 Dewdney Trunk Rd. Mission.
