Hainsworth (nee PRICE), Elizabeth Maud passed away peacefully on January 28th, 2008 in Parksville B.C.
Elizabeth was born in Swansea, Wales April 28th, 1923. Joining the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force at the advent of World War II, she met the love of her life in York, England, Canadian Airman Bill Hainsworth from Kitchener, Ontario. They were married in Swansea Wales February 14th, 1944, the beginning of a wonderful marriage lasting more than 63 years. Their first son, Robert John, was born in 1945 in Swansea, Wales. She followed her husband to London, Ontario as a War-Bride in 1946. Their second son, George Bruce, was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario in 1952. After Bill’s graduation as a Geologist, She followed him to Northern Canada, finally settling in the Vancouver area. Elizabeth was very active in theatrics and ran her own business, Liz’s Lingerie Shop in Vancouver, for many years. Her proudest accomplishment was being the co-founder of the Greater Vancouver Mining Women’s Association, where she remained active for many years. Survived by her loving husband, Bill, two sons Rob and George, three grandsons, Kaleeg, Shane and Micheal, and five great-granddaughters Ella, Heulwen, Madison, Avery and Bridget.

A Service will be held at St. Edmund’s Anglican Church in Parksville, on Sunday February 3rd, 2008 at 2:00 pm.

ADAMS, George passed away at Eagle Park in Qualicum Beach on April 13, 2008. George was pre-deceased by his parents Charles and Annette, brother John and sister Dorothy. Survived by his loving wife and best friend Mel, daughters Janice and Tracy (Dave); grandchildren Shaunah, Ryann (Rhea), Kristen (Dave), Sammy (Ryan) and Judd; great-granddaughter Madison; sister Bernice (George), brother Gerry (Gina); many relatives and friends in B.C., AB, SK, & ON. The family of the late George Adams would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr's DeSai, McIntrye, Schneidereit, Bandali, Hay, Pistone and Gemmel for the care and kindness given to George. Also a Special thanks to the staff at Eagle Park for the warmth, care and compassion for George and his family. A celebration of Peggy's life will be held April 20th, 2008, at Beach Acres in the Grove Room.
Survived by her loving husband Brian of 42 years. Sister Donna (John), of Castlegar. Uncle Les Smith, Sister in law, Carol (Richard), of Cranbrook. Brother in law, Doug (Tracy), of Windermere. Niece Laurie (Darren), of Winfield and many more nieces and nephews.
She will be missed. Her bubbly personality touched everyone she knew. She will be sadly missed by many friends and family

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Anne at NRGH on April 9.
Predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth. Survived by her loving husband of 50 years Fred and her sons Scott, Paul (Linda), and Grant and her 2 grandsons Seth and Owen.
Anne was born in Duncan and after graduating from VGH in nursing she went into her father’s practice.
Anne was very active in her church and her community of Qualicum Beach prior to her struggles with MS.
Anne was always there for her family and others.
Special thanks to all the doctors that helped Anne over the years and to the staff at NRGH.

NEWTON, W. George passed away peacefully on April 7, 2008 at his home in Parksville at the age of 85.
George was pre-deceased by his loving wife Gladys in 1991, sisters; Ethel Holding and Ruby Doll, brothers: Alf, Roy and Mike. He is survived by his sister Olive McKenzie, his brother Lloyd and a great many nieces and nephews.

Stark, Joe passed away April 5, 2008 in Nanaimo Regional Hospital after a brief battle with Mesothelioma.
Joe will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Glenna, son Terrence (Kathleen), daughter Joanne, grandchildren Andrew and Emily, brother John (Shirley), and sister Luisa, many nieces, nephews, and other family, as well as countless dear friends.
Born February 26, 1930 in Vancouver, B.C. After graduating from Vancouver Technical High School in 1948, Joe worked as a shoe repairman and as a commercial fisherman. In 1958, he began a 31-year career with the Municipality of Burnaby, starting as a labourer in the Waterworks and Sewers department, and later, becoming a Works Inspector. In 1989, he retired and moved to Parksville, B.C., where he enjoyed sport fishing and gardening.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at the Quality Resort Bayside, 240 Dogwood St., Parksville, B.C.

SKAARUP (nee Jensen), Gudrun Kjems Saturday, 05 Apr 2008

With family at her bedside, Gudrun Skaarup lost her battle with cancer on April 5, 2008 at the age of 64. Gudrun was pre-deceased by her parents, Jens and Ester Jensen; and her brother Jens Jensen. She is survived by her husband, Willy, son Eric, daughter Linda (Travis) and two grandchildren, Dayna and Evan and will remain in the hearts of her friends and family forever.
A celebration of Gudrun’s life will be held at the Yates Funeral Home (15-1000 Allsbrook Road, Parksville) on Saturday April 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. for all friends and family wishing to attend.
Our gratitude is expressed to the team of doctors, nurses and caregivers who guided us every step of the way. A special thanks to the staff at Eagle Park for treating Gudrun with the dignity and respect she deserved.
