Orville passed away peacefully in Fort St. James B.C. on July, 27/07.
Predeceased by wife Shirley and 3 brothers, Bill, Bud and Marvel.
Orville leaves behind Daughter: Catherine (Rod), Grandson: Rob (Christa), Great Grandson: Daynen, Granddaughter: Cambria.
Son: Grant, Grandsons: Joel and Scott (Charlie Ann).
Brother: Merle, Sisters: Alberta and Doreen.
Survived by friend Paulene.
Orville lived by his own set of values, loyalty and devotion to his family. He devoted his time to the community and was involved with Rotary, “Regional Director Area “C”, Chamber, Health Board and many more!
A Memorial Service was held Friday 11am FSJ Senior Secondary School.
In lieu of flowers, donation to the Auxiliary to Stuart Lake Hospital.

Born February 10, 1952 passed away suddenly at Stuart Lake Hospital.
He is survived by his loving partner Gladys, his faithful companion Mandy, son Nigel (Marlene), daughter Nicole (Thomas), Mom & Dad (Barb & Bert), brothers Richard (Brenda), Gary (Bonnie), Peter (Ellen), sister-in-law Pat (Larry), brother-in-law Gordie and granddaughters Faith & Tiah and many numerous nephews and nieces.

Sheehan, Robert Melvin (Bob) Sunday, 02 Mar 2008

It is with sorrow that the family of Robert announce his passing on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the age of 90 years. For 60 years beloved husband of Ethel Sheehan (deceased). Dear father of Margaret Lacerte (deceased) (Mark), Donna Prince (deceased) (Walter), Evelyn Tokio (John), Shirley Doucette (Norman), Melvin, Gordon (Shirley), Bobby (deceased), Joanne Peltier (Jerry), Bryce (Tammy), Sheldon (Barb), Dale (Dana), Marilyn (John Klassen).
Grandfather to 40 children, great-grandfather to 15 children and great-great-grandfather to 2 children.
Robert is survived by his sister-in-law Violet Weinhardt, and his brother-in-law, Donald Suter - both of Edson, Alberta.
Bob was born in Manly, Alberta in 1917. He worked in the farming and forest industries throughout Alberta. In 1945 Bob married Ethel Suter and after brief stays in Dunster, Crescent Spur and Prince George they moved to Fort St. James. Bob worked in the sawmill as a millwright until his retirement in the early 80’s. He resided in Fort St. James for the remainder of his life.

Words cannot express our very sincere then you for all the love, prayers and support that was shown to our families. Thank you to all, who visited, called, sent flowers, cards, food and kindness.
Thank you to Dr. Joshua, the Staff at Stuart Lake Hospital and Staff at Stuart Nechako Manor for your caring and professionalism with Betty and our family during her stay.
Our thanks continues especially to our children, grandchildren and our families, long time friends, neighbors, Rev. Roy Andrews and Gwen, Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #268, Fort St. James Volunteer Fire Department, Auxiliary to the Stuart Lake Hospital, for all the much appreciated love and support.
Thank you to all whom honored Mom’s memory and assisted us in getting through our difficult times.

Juozaitis, Fred Saturday, 01 Mar 2008

Born in 1942 on a farm in Kamsack, Saskatchewan to Verna and Joe Juozaitis.
Fred was the eldest of six children. The family moved to Wardner, British Columbia in the late 1950’s and on to Cranbrook in the early 1960’s.
Throughout his working years, Fred was involved in various activities. He was a manager of the Sullivan Hotel in Kimberley, a camp cook for his guide/outfitter brother, Joey and a Drug and Alcohol Counsellor in Native Communities. Fred spent almost 20 years in the bosom of AA and it’s members.
Fred is survived by his brothers Francis (Norma) of Cranbrook, and Chris (Patti) of Sechelt, and his sisters Maryann Juozaitis of Oliver and Vikki Gibson of Cranbrook.
Fred spent the last months of his life under the tender loving care of the amazing staff at Joseph Creek Care Village.
Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.

McRitchie, Bruce Friday, 18 Jan 2008

Bruce Robert McRitchie passed away at Regina General Hospital in Saskatchewan January 11, 2008 at age 82. Bruce was born August 11, 1925 in Brant Township, Ontario. In August 1945 Bruce married Ruth Rodtka. In 1965 Bruce moved his family to Robbtown to operate a small business. In 1969 the family moved to Fort St. James, Bruce worked for Bill Isaacson, Farm’s Sawmill and Takla Forest Products before moving to Lumby in 1976. There he worked at Tolko until retirement. In 1992 they returned to Fort St. James. Ruth succumbed to cancer in 1993. Bruce married Mary Purves in 1994 and divided his time between the Fort and Regina. Bruce was pre-deceased by his parents, a sister, brother and first wife. He is survived by his wife Mary, children: Leonard (Debbie) Yakima, Washington. Diane (Jim) Mortenson, Fort St. James. Elaine (Ken) Kerr, Fort St. James. Neil (Sandra) Grand Forks. 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also a sister, Muriel, nephew Raymond (Wanda) Strickland of Hanover, Ontario. A memorial service to be held at a later date.

Goodwin, Jannette Thursday, 17 Jan 2008

Jannette Goodwin passed away suddenly on January 17, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Headquarters (Comox) B.C. on September 14, 1934. She moved to Vanderhoof B.C. at 6 years of age where she lived until she met her husband Roy.
They relocated to Fort St. James in1954 where they made their home and raised their family.
Jannette is survived by her husband Roy of 52 years, her daughters Pam (Andy) Little, Vicki (Bill) Legebokoff, and son Mike (Angela) Goodwin. Her grandchildren Shannon (Brent) Rosa, Eric Little, Ryan, Cody and Shelby Legebokoff, Carla, Dallas and Lane Goodwin. Her great-grandchildren Ridge and Mia Rosa. Sisters Violet Smith, Marie Fairbrother and brother Fred (Pat) Schultz along with numerous other family.
She was the heart and strength of our family and will be sadly missed, forever loved and never forgotten.
Special thanks to Dr. Joshua for his care and compassion and to the nursing staff at Stuart Lake Hospital.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Stuart Lake Hospital Auxiliary or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Sheldon, Roy (Rocky) Monday, 12 Nov 2007

Rocky passed away in Kelowna while being cared for by wife Kathleen, daughter Roxanne and son David.
He was pre-deceased by parents Harold & Pearl, sister Joyce & brother Gordon. Rocky obtained his nickname while playing hockey. He played for the Notre Dame Hounds, Lethbridge Native Sons, Nanaimo Clippers, Swift Current Indians, Penticton Vees, Williams Lake Stampeders, and the Prince George Mohawks. In 1954 he moved his family to Williams Lake and he embarked on a 39 year career with B.C. Railway. It took him to Prince George in 1961 and Fort St. James in 1971 which he loved and considered his home. During this time his first 2 grandchildren were born Dylan Paulson and Fife Halvorson. Some 25 years later he was blessed with 2 more grandkids Ryan & Morgan Richardson, and 3 great-granddaughters Olivia, Rylee & Julia Paulson. All of them became a big part of his life when Rocky had to leave the Fort due to ill health. Although his physical body had left the Fort his memories and desire to return remained strong. The family will be holding a celebration of Rocky’s life at the Legion in Fort St. James on December 28th from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

Doug was born August 8, 1928 and passed away on September 28, 2007. He spent all of his 79 years in Fort St. James and on the surrounding lakes and rivers with the people and work that he loved.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, their daughter Joan (Gerald), grandchildren Rob and Miranda Burdeniuk, son Greg, extended family and many friends.
Doug’s generous spirit and wonderful stories will live on in our hearts and in the little town that was so special to him.
His family would like to thank the many people whose kindness and help has been greatly appreciated.
