GEORGESON, LYDIA
Lydia Georgeson passed away peacefully at Arrowsmith Lodge, in Parksville, on October 11, 2007, at the age of 84. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Clarence, who's patient love sustained her over the last difficult years. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Betty Trites, Nanoose; Joyce Elmore and Bonny Butler, Nanaimo; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Lydia was born and raised near Alliance, Alberta, attended Normal School in Edmonton, and spent her first year teaching in Grand Prairie. She returned to teach near her home, married Victor Van Hecke in 1944 and moved to Edmonton. The family moved to Richmond in 1955 where Lydia taught school for several years. Victor passed away in 1964. Lydia married Clarence Georgeson in 1966 and moved to Vancouver Island in 1974 where she happily lived out her life.
Many thanks to the nurses and care aids at Arrowsmith Lodge for their care and great compassion throughout her stay.
Lydia will be missed by her family and friends. No service will be held as requested.

passed away in Qualicum Beach at the age of 87. Waiting for him is his wife Eileen. Born in Strasbourg, Saskatchewan, he is survived by sons: Jim (Tracey) and Ron (Bev), grandchildren: Jim (Caroline), Lindsay (Jason), and Jamie. Also great-grandchildren: Keaundra, Dean, Sierra and James.
Jim served 5 years in the Navy and was discharged in 1945. A year later he met and married Eileen and had two sons, Jim and Ron, and moved to Minnedosa, Manitoba where he was a projectionist for the Lyric Theatre.
The family moved to Clear Lake, Manitoba in 1960 where Jim became the electrician for Riding Mountain National Park, where they lived until retirement. He and Eileen enjoyed many years vacationing in the Gulf of Texas and in 1972 moved to Qualicum Beach.
A special thank you to his caregivers at The Gardens who treated him with such love and compassion.
Your presence in our lives will be greatly missed and forever in our memories.

At the age of 63, delivered from the ravaging throes of cancer into the arms of Jesus on October 10, 2007.
Deeply and sorrowfully missed by the “loves of his life”, wife Susan and son Todd. Also loved by his 2 Aussie brothers and their families, and by Susan’s family.
Heartfelt thanks to the amazing love and support from the nurses, doctors and staff at the Palliative Unit at NRGH. Also blessings and thanks to Dr. Waite, Oceanside Hospice and Home Support for all their help.
Memorial service at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 795 W. Island Hwy, Parksville on Wednesday, Oct. 17th at 2:30 pm. Reception following in the church hall.

STRUGNELL, Roger William Monday, 08 Oct 2007

Roger was born in Burnaby B.C. on June 13, 1924 and passed away peacefully on Monday October 8, 2007. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Irene. He also leaves his son, Dean, his daughter Stacey(Craig), grandsons, Graydon, Duncan, and Lachlan, and many nieces and nephews.
The Strugnell's moved to Vancouver Island in 1970. Then built the Resort & Trailer park and he became "Bowser Bill". After living in Bowser for 36 years they moved to Qualicum Beach.
Roger was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Bowser Branch #211 and when in good health was an active volunteer.
Friends and neighbours are invited to a Tea on Saturday October 13 from 2pm to 4pm at the Bowser Legion Hall. In lieu of flowers a donation to the First Open Heart Society of B.C., or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Born February 7, 1928 at Theodore, Sask. we lost her on October 8, 2007 at home in Parksville, B.C.
Beth was pre-deceased by her father William (1976), mother Margaret (1955), brother Hugh (1978), sister Muriel (1999), sister Morah (1925) and sister Phyllis (1999).
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Albert, daughters Carol of Fort St. John and Sandra of Parksville, son Wayne (Leanne) of Airdrie, AB; granddaughters Kirstine of Taiwan, Kimberley (Ashley) of Wembley, AB, Kayleigh (Dustin) of Red Deer, AB and Kathlyn of Kelowna; great-grandchildren Bailey and Keeley of Wembley, AB. She is also survived by her sister Florence (Ted) of Viking, AB and brother Ross (Janice) of Leduc, AB along with many brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Theodore, Beth went to Normal School at Moose Jaw, Sask. before taking her first teaching job at Coulson where she met her future husband. She then went to teach at Carlyle for two years before they were married in Theodore on July 12, 1949 and went to live on the Machan family farm near Antler. Here their daughters were born before they moved to Port Alberni in 1955. Here their son was born and when he started school Beth went back to teaching, substituting at first.
While teaching full time she completed her Bachelor of Education (1976) and taught primary school for 16 years in the Alberni School District. Al and Beth decided they wanted to retire in Parksville and so bought a home there in 1978 and commuted until their retirement in 1984. Upon retirement they indulged their passions – travel, family, golfing, curling, gardening, bridge and church work.
A Celebration of Life service will be held October 15, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Knox United Church, Parksville, B.C.

Della Beatrice Anderson passed away peacefully at Trillium Lodge nursing home on Sunday, October 7th 2007 in her 93rd year. Wife of the late Geuel Anderson, mother-in-law of the late Michael (Mickey) Markwick, dear mother of Carol Markwick, she will be missed dearly. She was a member of the Golden Agers of Nanoose when they were active.
Memorial will be held at a later date in Ontario.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, William and Gladys Exley, and her brother Earle Exley.

Our much beloved husband, father and Opa passed away in Nanaimo on October 7, 2007 at the age of 89.
Evert was born in Soest, Holland on Feb. 7, 1918. He and his wife Tina immigrated to Canada in 1948. They moved to Qualicum Beach in 1956 and ran the Qualicum Poultry Farm for almost 30 years.
Evert was pre-deceased by his daughter, Alice and survived by Tina (wife of 60 years), children Evert(Carol), Mary (Lee - pre-deceased), Betsy, Allan (Cathy), John(Angela), and grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
No service by Evert’s request.

Born November 16, 1928 passed away peacefully in the presence of her family at the age of 78 years.
She will be sadly missed by John, her husband of 54 years, Children: Cindy (Bob), Kathy (Mike), Geoff (Melissa), Michael, Barbara-Anne. Grandchildren: Jennifer(Ike), Melanie, James (Kestin), Dustin (Misty), Eric, Adam, Julie, Ryan, Michael, Brandon & Cameron. Great-grandchildren: Colton, Ashley, Savana, Emmalynn, Hayley. One brother Alec Tranfield, and two sisters, Frances Tranfield and Rose Hopkins, as well as nieces and nephews. Her Aunt Queenie and family.
Our very special thanks to the doctors and nurses at NRGH and the Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and care of Cynthia.
There will be no service at Cynthia’s request. We will miss her and love her forever.
