GEORGE, Arthur of Nanoose Bay, B.C., born January 12, 1921 passed suddenly on February 15, 2008.
He is lovingly remembered by his son, David (Donna) of North Vancouver, his daughter Margaret of Qualicum Beach, eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Arthur is pre-deceased by his wife Edna and daughter Elaine.
There will be no service by request.

Died after a short illness on Feb. 13, 2008. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years Doreen, daughter Chris, sister Verena, brother George and families. Jack worked for three decades in the oil industry in Western & Northern Canada & around the world. He retired in 1981 to his bit of paradise in Parksville. He will be missed for his ironic sense of humor and dedication to work & family. He volunteered in his community and was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus & the Mid-Island Esso Annuitants. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Eagle Park, and Drs J. Walker and Atherton.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Church of the Ascension, Parksville, followed by a gathering in the adjacent Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to SOS D69, P.O. Box 898, Parksville, B.C., V9P 2G9 please.

Lucy, Pat and Brian (Hannah) regret to advise Bob has left this world and his loving family and friends. His life started in Port Alberni, B.C., moving to Parksville at age 5 where he grew up with his 4 siblings and learned to appreciate and love the outdoors. He started his working life as a faller for McMillan Bloedel, served in the Air Force for 25 years; his 2nd career was with the CRD, retiring as a Sr. Public Health Inspector in 1993. Bob was pre-deceased by his father, Howard in 1959, mother Clotilde 1979, sister Jeanne Turley 1994, and brother Al 2006. Survived by his wife of 56 years Lucy, daughter Pat, son-in-law Brian, sister Charlotte Sinclair, brother Glen, many nieces and nephews and °adopted° families. Thank you to the wonderful staff on 3 Maple Special Care Oak Bay Lodge, Victoria, B.C. who cared for Bob for almost 3 years. As a passionate fisherman, Bob was a member of the Golden Rods & Reels.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held Saturday, February 23rd, 1 PM at McCall Bros. Floral Chapel, Johnson at Vancouver.
Donations in Bob's memory may be made to the B.C. SPCA or the Alzheimer Society.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was pre-deceased by his sister and grandparents in New Brunswick. John will be sadly missed by his loving wife Angelica, his daughter Meghan and son Sean. He will always be remembered by his parents, Carl and Ruth, his brothers and sisters Joan (Monty) Manhas, Brian (Rowena), Stephen (Patrice), Sheila (Tom) Weegar and his nieces and nephews. John also leaves many wonderful friends, especially Ken and Donna, Bruce, Dave, Gary, Scott and Ken.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 16th at 1:00 P.M. at Po Co Campus, 1477 Lougheed Hwy., Port Coquitlam, B.C.
John will be remembered as a kind and loving son, brother, husband and father. His love and respect for the great outdoors is well known.

passed away peacefully with family at her side on the afternoon of February 10th.
Donna was pre-deceased by her loving husband Jim. She will be remembered and cherished by her daughter Shannon, son Shawn, daughter-in-law Pamela, granddaughter Megan, and grandson Luke.
A celebration of Donna's life will be on Saturday, Feb. 16th at 1 pm at Yates Funeral Home, 1000 Allsbrook Rd, Parksville

Al was born and attended school in Yakima Washington. He enlisted in the Merchant Marine's officers school and graduated as a second mate. He served in the South Pacific Seas during World War II.
After the war he returned to the University of Washington in Seattle to complete his science degree. He continued at the University of Washington for the Fisheries Research Institute in the study of salmon.
Al married Mary in 1959 and together they ran a nursery business in Seattle. In 1970 he and Mary retired and immigrated to Canada, to Jedediah Island ( a 650 acre island) in the Straits of Georgia. Idyllically they treasured Jedediah and remained on the island for 20 years.
In 1995, Al and Mary deeded Jedediah Island to the Province of B.C. to be held in perpetuity as a marine park for all to enjoy.
Al then moved to Nanaimo and then retired to Victoria B.C. He became critically ill and moved to Glenwarren Lodge in Victoria, where he received loving care and attention to his needs.
His wife Mary and stepson Evan were at his side when he left peacefully. He is survived by 2 stepsons, Roger and Evan, many step grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his nieces, Betsy, Pamela, Barbara, Vaugn and Marion, and his nephews, Norman, Philip and David.
A celebration of Al's wonderful life will be held at Fariwinds Golf and Country Club in Nanoose bay on March 1, 2008, at 2 o'clock

Helen E. Finholm (Forsyth) born Feb. 04, 1911 in Scotland passed away Feb. 08, 2008.
Predeceased by her husband Victor, stepson Victor Jr., Brother Jack, sister Elizabeth Cummin, nephews Ernie and Gordon.
She is survived by her stepdaughter Shirley Galloway (John) step daughter-in-law Irene and step grandchildren Vicki Dugas (Terry), Carol Dines (Rick), Cheryl Lyons (Carl), Dona Naylor, Terry Galloway, Kasandra (Charlene) Ryane, Keith Finholm.
There will be no service by request.
Helen is well respected for her determination. She loved gardening. The family would like thank the staff at Trillium for their years of care.
In her memory plant a rose for yourself or someone you love, to enjoy.

She was born in Penclawdd, Wales, and passed away after a long and full life. She spent the last 14 years enjoying her life and enriching ours in Parksville, B.C. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husbands Albert Morris (1974) and Edgar Tucker (1994). She will be dearly missed by her sons Lynne and Howard, grand-children Lori (Dave), Terry (Michelle), Lisa, Christina, Del, Carlee and great-grandchildren, Richard, Jordon, Jeremy, James, Sarah, Justin, Sydney, Liv and Grace.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
