Pat first attended St. Margaret's in Victoria and then McTavish Rd. School. She moved with her parents to Arizona where she attended high school in Casa Grande.
After graduation she returned to BC attending BCIT-Broadcasting then moving to Salmon Arm to work at the local radio station. It was at this time she met her future husband Jim, they were married in Enderby on April 29, 1972. Moving to Cobble Hill in 1974, they lived there until moving to Abbotsford in 1977 where Pat returned to her career in radio. Pat decided to further her education in 1989 attending Fraser Valley College where she actively participated in the campaign to have it designated the University College of the Fraser Valley. Transferring to Simon Fraser University she received her Bachelor of Arts 1st Class Honours in 1995. She went on to receive her Master of Arts in History in 1999. Pat had a passion for horses all her life, riding for pleasure and competitively. Her other pleasures were reading and traveling with her husband, visiting more than 40 countries, many more than once. In 1992 she entered into her courageous battle with recurring brain tumours that would ultimately take her from us.
