Roy McKerricher of Quesnel, B.C. passed away on January 30, 2008 at G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital.
Roy was born December 9, 1930 in Bengough, Saskatchewan.
He is survived by his wife Audrey, children Troy and Marvee, grandchildren Ryan and Joey, Sonja,
Shalyn and Shandra and great-grandchildren Treysen, Kaiden and McKayla.
Donations in Roy’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
We would like to thank all those who were there with Roy.

Lawlor, George Wayne Tuesday, 29 Jan 2008

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Wayne Lawlor after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). He was born March 13, 1944 in Powell River and passed away January 29, 2008.
George loved life. He enjoyed the outdoors, his land, his horses and his family. He will be missed by his three children, Darla (Aaron) Hammer, Blake (Chandra) Lawlor, and Kent (Tina) Lawlor, his mother Lillian Bow, his wife Debbie and her three sons, his sisters Sharon (Dave) Fookes and Shirley Lawlor (Howie Vestvick) and his brother Bud Lawlor (Lynn Christensen), grandchildren Colby, Lane, Kade, Travis, Aubree and Samantha and his entire family.
George spent most of his life in the Bouchie Lake community. We would like to thank the Bouchie Lake Rec Commission for the donation of the Bouchie Lake Hall where his Celebration of Life was held on Feb. 2, 2008.
Thank you to the Home Support workes for their tender loving care, as well as his wonderful friends, neighbours and family.
Covey, Hibbert Allan Sunday, 27 Jan 2008

Hibbert Allan Covey, known as Bert, passed away January 27, 2008 at McKinney Place at the age of 76.
Bert was born July 17, 1931 in Swift Current, Sask., one of seven children, where he went through school.
At the age of 16 he left to join the circus and ended up in Quesnel where he met and married his first wife, Doreen. They had two children, Les and Kathy.
He worked at various jobs in and around Quesnel, the last being the Dept. of Highways.
In 1958 they sent him to work in Wells for three days which turned into 30 years.
In 1979 he married Irene and in 1988 they both retired and moved to Oliver.
Bert is survived by his wife Irene, son Les and daughter-in-law Kris, sisters Verona and Judy and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be at Grahams Funeral Home in Oliver, Saturday, February 2 at 3:30 p.m. followed with a tea at the Oliver Senior Centre.

The family of Melina Koziel sadly announce her sudden passing on January 25, 2008.
A memorial service for Mel will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Church, 2244 Ash Ave., with Stew Motteram officiating.
A reception tea will follow the service downstairs in the church.
We welcome all friends and family to join us in this celebration of life.

Noreen E. Mohan passed away January 21, 2008 at G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital at the age of 76.
She is survived by her loving husband Thomas, son Daniel Mohan, daughter Lorraine Short (Rick), sons Michael Mohan (Karen) and Edward Mohan and nine grandchildren, two sisters Eileen Batty and Penny Hawkins.
She will be missed dearly by her loving family and friends.

Julia Johnson, our mother, was involved in a tragic car accident that ended her life on Friday, January 18, 2008. She was 62, newly retired and full of zeal for life.
A devoted mother, loving grandmother, spirited friend, generous neighbor, inspiring colleague and exceptional teacher, she will be cherished and dearly missed by her family, friends and community.
Julia is survived by her daughter Andrea (Marc) of Edmonton AB, son Neal (Angela) of Florida USA, mother Ann Kotyk of Kenora, ONT, sister Rose (Terry) of Poplar Bay ONT, niece Heidi (Hardy) of Spokane WA, soon to be 4 grandchildren and 1 grand niece, aunt Annie of Elliot Lake, ONT, aunt Francis and aunt Kay of Winnipeg MB, She is pre-deceased by her father Bill Kotyk of Winnipeg (1997).
Julia Ann Johnson was born in 1945, grew up in Timmins and Schumacher, Ont and attended Teacher’s College in North Bay ONT. Quesnel B.C. has been her home since 1980, where she taught in many areas of School District #28.
Julia earned her degree from SFU in 1995 and a Master’s from Gonzaga University in 1999.
As a teacher, she enriched the lives of students and colleagues alike, inspiring many with her passion for learning and zest for living.
Julia sang wholeheartedly and served joyfully amidst the congregation of St. Andrew’s United Church. She wrote with wisdom and inspiration for the BCTF column “On Being Well”. Julia spearheaded the Wellness Committee locally, fostering community and care among the teachers of the district.
Julia was an enthusiastic supporter of the Canadian Cancer Society and the Palliative Care team. Her smile and humor brought comfort to many in extended care.
A celebration of her life was held at the Quesnel Senior’s Centre on January 29, 2008, officiated by Reverend Teri Meyer and arranged by Clayton’s Funeral Home.
A memorial scrapbook is being made in tribute to her life.

Catherine A. Speer was born in Vancouver, B.C. on October 2, 1918 and passed away peacefully January 15, 2008 at her son’s home.
Catherine was pre-deceased by her husband Vern Speer and son Bob Speer (Valerie).
Catherine is survived by her son Ted Speer (Suzie), sister Edythe Field (Philip), grandchildren Lindy Gilson (Mike), Steve Speer (Debbie), Jamie Speer (Carol), and Barb Speer, Angie Speer, Gwen Fichtner (Jeremy), Richard Speer (Wendy) numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Home Nursing and Home Care of Quesnel and Dr. Grapes of Quesnel.
In lieu of flowers donations to Canadian Cancer Society and Palliative Care are appreciated.
A memorial service will be held at St. John the Divine Anglican Church on January 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Quesnel.

David Lockyer passed away suddenly on January 15, 2008 in Kelowna, B.C. at the age of 60 years.
Survived by his wife Coreen of Kelowna; father Frank (Kate) Lockyer; sisters Linda and Doraka Lockyer all of Victoria.
There was an informal gathering held on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 11:00 am from the Family Center of Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, B.C.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to B.C. Heart and Stroke Foundation #4-1551 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 9M9.
There will be a celebration of David’s life held in Quesnel in early June. Date to be announced.
