passed away in Victoria, BC on May 3, 2008 due to lung cancer at the age of 51.
She will be greatly missed by her family, mother Ingrid, daughter Sara (John), grandsons Chase and Zander, sister Perdita (Ray), niece Tamara (and family), nephew Clint (and family).
There will not be a Memorial Service held in her honour as her friends and family were spread out, instead we ask that you join us on May 31, 2008 at 2:13 pm in your own private 2 minute memorial. Please take 2 minutes to remember her. A memory, a joke or a story.
She fought for 6 years an incredible fight against cancer, and her beautiful, giving soul, upbeat attitude and contagious laugh will be missed by all who met her.

PETERSON, Keith Gerald passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Scotch Creek, BC on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the age of 66. Keith was born in Hanna, Alberta on September 16, 1942 and raised on the family farm in Caroline, Alberta.
Keith is survived by his loving wife, Doris, four children and three step-daughters: Greg (Sheila) Cave, Kamloops, BC, Sherrie (Jim) Ehman, Thousand Oaks, California, Wes (Tammy) Peterson, Vanderhoof, BC, Brad Peterson, Kimberley, BC, Crystal (Brian) Levesque, Scotch Creek, BC, Nadine (Neil) Levesque, Kamloops, BC and Denise Malo-Peterson, Invermay, Sask., mother Elizabeth Heck, Salmon Arm, BC. The pride and joy of his life, his grandchildren, Tyler and Jayla Cave, Meghan and Amanda Ehman, Josh and Jessie Raymond, Tristin and Kayla Korol, Dominic Manuel, and Samantha, Brooke, Sky and Brenna Malo. His brother Walter Peterson and sister Gloria Flower, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. His dad, Jack Heck and his brother in-law, Jack Flower pre-deceased Keith.
The many people with whom he worked with, his hunting and fishing buddies and all the many friends he made over the years will remember Keith and what stories they would be able to tell. Keith was also a member of CASARA and he took great pride in the volunteer work he did with them. Keith loved the outdoors and many of his and Doris days were spent searching for new lakes to fish and camp at. He retired from the Sheriff’s Services in 1999 and moved to Kamloops to be with Doris and also to be closer to his parents.
Keith was a loving caring person and the favorite uncle and grandpa; he is going to be dearly missed by all who loved him.
A visitation and viewing was held on Friday May 9th, 6 – 9 p.m. and Saturday, May 10th, 9 a.m. – noon at Fischer’s Funeral Services, 4060 1st Ave. SW @ TC Hwy. A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 10th, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. also at Fischer’s Funeral Services. There was an open microphone for those who wished to share a story about Keith. A luncheon followed the service.

GAMBLE, John Joseph, 95, Surrey British Columbia, passed away Tuesday morning September 9, 2008 in the company of his beloved wife, Kathleen. Born November 29, 1912 in County Cavan, Ireland he immigrated to Hamilton, Ontario at the age of 16. His career was in the field of commercial photo-engraving and lithography but his real life work was truly his faith, family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Kathleen; three sons, John David Gamble (Vilma Gamble), Courtney, British Columbia, Mark Gamble (Kristine Gamble), Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Tim Gamble of Vancouver British Columbia, grandchildren Jessica, Daniel and Kathryn, two great granddaughters, and special family friend Benilda Morales.
He was preceded in death by his infant son Paul, parents; William and Margaret Ann Gamble, brothers William, and Victor and sister Millie.
A memorial service will be held at White Rock Community Church on Monday September 15 at 3PM followed by a reception at the Church.

On Sept 8, 2008, James (Jim) Grant of Surrey, B.C. passed away among family at the age of 79 years after a brave struggle with Cancer. Jim was born on March 26, 1929 in Sexmith, Alberta. Jim is survived by his wife of 34 years, Beatrice Grant; his children: Ian (Susan), Susan, Gordon (Julie), Margaret (Ian), Kelly, Scott (Hayley) and Dale; his grandchildren: Lee-Anne, Jessica, Grant, Bradley, Amanda, Sean, Brenden, Taylor and Brooklyn, and his great grand-daughter Olivia born on June 14th. 2008 and great-grandson Blake on August 25th. 2008; and brothers John and Dennis. Jim was pre-deceased by his father, Edward James (1960), his mother Florence Lucy (1995), his wife Merna (1972), and his sister Kathleen (1997).
Jim graduated from UBC with a BSC in Pharmacy in 1952 and enjoyed a distinguished career in the Canadian military from his enlistment in the Canadian Army Reserve in 1945 through his retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps (Air Command) at Allied Forces Central Europe Nato Headquarters (AFCENT), Brunssum, Netherlands.
Jim will be remembered for the love he shared with his family. His positive cheerful attitude in life has been a great source of strength to his family. Throughout his military career he was respected for his leadership, opinion and wise counsel.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service on Saturday September 13th at 10:30 at the First United Church 15385 Semiahmoo Avenue, White Rock, V4B-5L3. This will be followed by an internment at Victory Memorial Park at 14831-28th Ave., Surrey, B.C. RICHARDS, Constance (Connie) (Van Duzee), aged 99 years. Born at Tyldesley, England on April 6, 1909; passed peacefully away Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Ocean View Care Home. Predeceased by her late husband, Stan Richards. Survived by two sons, Mort of Saskatoon and Monty (Barbara) Van Duzee of Montreal and two exceptionally close friends Paul and Jackie Tingley formerly of White Rock, B.C. who were there for Connie's needs at all times. Born in Hungary, October 21st, 1935, passed away on September 6th, 2008 surrounded by her family and friends. Julia is survived by her loving husband Nandor of 52 years, her sons Nandor Jr., George and Leslie; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Julia touched so many lives with her love, strength and kindness. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible staff of the palliative care unit at Peace Arch Hospital for their care and compassion and to all her wonderful friends who supported her so lovingly during her battle with cancer.

PETTY, Dorothy Mary-Isabelle (nee Langpap) born February 22 1934 in Senlac, Saskatchewan.
It is with much sadness to announce that Doe passed away on September 4th, 2008 at 9:45 pm at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, British Columbia. Doe Petty will be greatly missed by her three daughters Candy Petty, Kim Petty and Michelle Major. Her grandchildren Tyler, Jake, Dallas, Chad, Cameron and Madison will also miss their Nanny immensely. Special thanks to Darcie and Rod for all the help and support they provided for Doe throughout her life. Doe Petty was an amazing woman who taught those around her how to survive life's obstacles. She was brave, strong and extremely intelligent and will never be forgotten by those she loved.

George passed away peacefully on Weatherby 2, at Peace Arch Hospital. He was born in Vancouver, was educated, grew up on the East side and continued to live there after marriage with his beloved wife Gay, they relocated to White Rock in 1992. George was pre-deceased by Gay in 1998 and their wonderful Samoyed Fuzzy. He was a WWII veteran, worked in the forest product division of H.R. McMillen and then was a long time employee of Woodwards until retiring.
George and Gay enjoyed visits to Hawaii and many cruises together. He loved art, music and will be remembered for his distinctive whistle, you could find him easily in all the old Woodward's stores by following that sound.
He will be greatly missed by his sister Esther Bisson, his nephew Colin (Muriel) Campbell, nieces Gay (Hans) Weber, Inez Labrum, Estelle (Gordon) Clarke, Mary Campbell, Thelma Burton and their families, many good friends, along with his wonderful neighbors at Seawynd.
Thank you to the staff of Weatherby 2, we will miss his presence in the quilt group, the Art and Men's Groups and all the great bus trips so lovingly provided by his angels Irma, Twyla and Joyce of the recreation staff and Pat Kinghorn his fellow BC Lions supporter and good friend to George and family. A warm mention for the hospice volunteers who made sure his final moments were filled with love.
Thank you to Dr. Prentice, and his nurses for their compassionate care. Funeral service will be held at Victory Memorial Park Chapel, 14831 28th Avenue, Surrey, BC V4P 1P3, , officiated by Rev. Paul Guiton, Rector of St. Dunstan's Anglican Church, on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 2:00 pm. Interred by Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre alongside Gay.
