NIBLOCK, Peter Alexander Monday, 04 Feb 2008
Langley, BC
Our beloved father and grandfather was taken from us suddenly February 4, 2008. Dad passed away at his home and joins in heaven his much missed wife of 51 years Joan, who pre-deceased him in 2005.
Peter was born in Liverpool England on April 13 1925. He lived in the small English town of Hightown until he was evacuated as a youth to Canada during the bombings of WWII. He lived in Rollo, Saskatchewan until he enlisted in the RCAF at age 17.
Upon his discharge from the RCAF at the end of the war he attended UBC where he earned his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 1949 and his M.Sc. in 1952.
Electrical engineering was Dad's life and his passion. He loved to sit for hours at the kitchen table, working the formulae to achieve the best possible signal from his ham radio antenna farm. Dad was a life long ham radio enthusiast, and he was proud of his call VE7ZG. We as children grew up listening to him "work the net" nightly in his ham shack.
He met his wife ( XYL) Joan while at UBC and they married in 1954. They had three daughters, Shelagh (Ron), Laurel, and Alex.
Dad is survived by his sister Mary, his daughters, and his grandchildren Julie, Stuart and Joy. Dad was so proud of his grandkids.
A memorial service will be held on Friday February 15, 2008, 11:00 AM at St. Matthews Anglican Church, 2010 Guildford Dr., Abbotsford. A celebration of Dad's life is to follow the service.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to one of Dad's favourite charity, CARES Cat Rescue, 6840 Glover Rd, Langley. 73 and 88 Dad, We love You!

His Love of animals was evident throughout his life and he would always be counted on to feed and care for any animal he encountered especially strays. In his later years he turned to care for cats, and his many "kitties" had a very comfortable life due to his dedication to them. Al had a wonderful contagious laugh and was always happy to see and hear from his friends and family. His unassuming and happy ways will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
