Lillian (Skogmo) King was born in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Lillian resided and worked in Prince Rupert until 1951 when she, her husband Corbin King, and young son Lorne moved to Terrace for Corbin to manage the Co-op. Lillian and Corbin raised their family in Terrace and then retired in Salmon Arm in 1979. They returned to Terrace in 1989 to be closer to family and friends.
“Anytime is coffee time” was a fond saying of Lillian’s and she was known for always having homemade goodies to go with the coffee breaks. She was an energetic woman, “always in a hurry”, who enjoyed time with family and friends, trying new recipes, preparing for Christmas, and expressing herself through the painting of local landscapes. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren.

Thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at Mills Memorial Hospital who provided care for Lillian. The support of family and friends has been sincerely appreciated as well.

LOOK, Robert (Bob) Ness Monday, 24 Mar 2008
Terrace, BC
Beloved husband, father and grandfather. Bob died peacefully on March 24, 2008. We are happy that he is now with his wife, Kay, who pre-deceased him 1½ years ago. Bob leaves behind children Chris (Debbie), Judy, and Andrea (Dave) Warner, and grandchildren Kristen, Graham (Shyla), Amy, Andrew, Mary, Morgan and Emily. Bob was so loved and cherished. His caring manner and good spirits will be greatly missed.
Bob worked for the CPR before longshoring for many years. He had many wonderful qualities that endeared him to those who knew him: a playful sense of humour, a keen interest in the world around him, a deep appreciation for nature (including his great delight in the “four-leggeds” that he knew, and his ability to spot an eagle from a mile away), and his never-ending efforts to ensure the well-being of those around him. His favourite leisure activities were boating, exploring and spending time at the family cabin on Galiano Island. His grandchildren well remember the trails he made for their enjoyment at the property. Bob also had an adventurous spirit and would enthusiastically follow any road - the more deserted the better.
After living his adult life in Victoria and Coquitlam, Bob spent his last nine months in Terrace. Bob really enjoyed and benefited from the warmth with which he was accepted into the community.
His family would like to thank the Home Care Nurses and the staff of Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace for their compassionate care of Bob in his last days, as well as Dr. Strydom in Terrace and Dr. Attwell in Victoria.

Belanger, Monique, Claudia Saturday, 08 Mar 2008
Terrace, BC
September 13, 1966 - March 8, 2008
Monique Claudia Bélanger, born September 13, 1966, passed away suddenly on March 8, 2008, in the serenity of the outdoors, which she so dearly loved.
Monique was born and raised in the beautiful community of Kitimat, a town whose rugged beauty was her lifelong playground. Monique first attended St. Anthony’s School and then graduated from MESS in 1984. In 1989, Monique’s life would be forever changed by the arrival of her beautiful son Dylan. Dylan was the love of Monique’s life. She brought up Dylan to be an exceptional individual, cultivating a young man who is loving, creative, adventurous, and so incredibly talented.
Monique loved and was loved by so many people. She relentlessly spent her life trying to please and enrich people’s lives, in her own special way. Her friends and family were her life. Monique possessed this special gift for being able to see the beauty in people, and never hesitated to compliment you on what your gift was.
Monique’s vibrant personality and healthy glow will be dearly missed by her friends and family. She is survived by her son Dylan, dad Léon (Patsy), sisters Kim (Don) and Debbie (Dave), brother Darrell (Sonia), and many other friends and family. She is pre-deceased by her mother, Jackie Bélanger (nee Harmel) in 2004.
In memory of Monique, take some time, go outside, and listen to the birds. Remember the simplicity of what her life represented: both loving and appreciating all those around her, and reveling in the dazzling display of nature that moved her so passionately.
