BINNS, Thomas Huston Sunday, 20 Jul 2008
100 Mile House, BC
Jan. 25, 1936 - July 20, 2008
It is with great and loving sadness that we announce our beloved Tom’s passing, into the arms of waiting angels, on the early morning of July 20, 2008. Born in Illinois, Tom was an avid outdoorsman, and his love of fishing and hunting, rivers and forests, took him on many travels, finally bringing him and his young family to British Columbia in 1974, to settle in the Bella Coola Valley for many years. With a view to lake fishing in retirement, he and his wife moved to the Cariboo in 2004, where he spent enjoyable hours watching wildlife in its natural habitat. His bravery, courage, and inner strength encouraged many, and were surpassed only by his love for his family. Predeceased by his father, mother, and stepfather, he is survived by his wife Gaylene, their children Robert and Angela, and son Tommy; grandchildren Brandon and Tayler Anne; brother Larry, nephew Britt and niece Becca; sister Millie (Charles) and sons; and his “Mom” mother-in-law, Octavia King. Tom will be also be missed by his extended family and many friends.
Hey Man, we will miss you, but love and memories are everlasting, and we all shall meet again. Thank you, Tommy, for sharing your life with us, for being so big a part of ours.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your nearest Boys’ and Girls’ Club, or to Covenant House in Vancouver.
