Born December 19, 1906 in New Westminster and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 5, 2008 in Vancouver, BC. Predeceased by husband, Arthur Harold Johnson and grandson Arthur Rix. She is survived by children; Lloyd (Roberta) and Reta, grandchildren; Tanaya, Bonnie (Barry) and Karen (David), 7 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren as well as dear friends. Elvira was a gentle, kind, artistic woman who loved to travel and enjoyed life to the fullest. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 11 am at Surrey Centre Cemetery at 16671 Old McLellan Road with a Celebration of Life to follow at 12 noon at the Cloverdale United Church at 17575 - 58A Avenue in Surrey. Robert Creamer (Gramps) passed away on Oct. 3 at Chilliwack Hospital at age 93 years. He was born June 23, 1915. Robert is survived by grandsons Brian, Roy and Bob Williamson, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and extended families.
He was pre-deceased by great grandson Jay Williamson and daughter Alice Duvall.
No service by request.
Thank you to Dr. Fimister, Home Health Care and many friends to help Gramps on his final journey of rest for his nomadic ways. We will all miss his stories of hardships and triumphs through out his long life.

FRIESEN, Katherine Epp died peacefully in her sleep on September 30, 2008. She was born July 16, 1910, near Waldheim, Saskatchewan. Her parents were Helena Ens and Jacob H. Epp, pioneers to Canada in 1899.
Katherine was pre-deceased by her husband, Jacob D. (Jake) Friesen in November 1990 and her five brothers, Jacob, Abe, Cornelius, Isaak and Peter Epp, and three sisters, Betty Amos, Helen Epp and Margaret Willems.
She is survived by sons James (Lorraine Flatt) of Kitchener ON, Robert (Valerie) of Winnipeg, MB, and Thomas (Janene Haddix) of Vancouver BC, one daughter, Dorothy Friesen (Gene Stoltzfus) of Fort Frances, ON, and one sister, Mary Epp of Saskatoon, SK. She has three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 9 at Bakerview Church in Abbotsford.

It is with great sorrow that we must say farewell to our mother. Alice Olivia Greger passed away on September 27, 2008 at Surrey Memorial Hospital with her children by her side. She is survived by her sons; Daniel and Larry, daughters; Bonnie and Donalda, grandchildren Tammy Lynn, Jessica, Luke, Brody and Paige, sisters; Dorothy, Ida, and Marjorie, brothers; Art and Cecil. Predeceased by her loving husband Alfred, mother Cecilia, father Richard, sisters Mable and Irene, brothers Leonard and Clifford.
Mom, thank you for all that you are and all that you have given us. Your guidance, love and laughter have helped us along the way. Without you we will feel a deep sadness and loss. You were an amazing mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. We know in our hearts that you have gone to a better place. Even though you are not with us in body, you are in spirit and we know that you will be there for us to hold our hands and guide us through this walk of life. Until we meet again, we love you mom.
A service will be held at Harrison Gospel Chapel on Thursday October 2, 2008 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada.

Bea, a loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend, passed away at Merritt Hospital on September 17th, 2008 at the age of 83 years. She is survived by her loving daughters and son-in-laws: Joanne & Chuck Edgar, Debbie & Don Crosby, Pat and Francis Sauve, Cheryl & Fred Chadwick and Kathy Galloway; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bea was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Joseph Gallaway. Past away peacefully in the company of his family on Sept 14th, 2008. In accordance with his wishes for a simple remembrance ceremony, an open house reception will be held on February 26, 2009 which would have been the date of his ninety-second birthday, at the HHS Memorial Hall. In lieu of sending flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
Because of Heinz's greatest wish was to die in his own home, I would like to thank on his behalf, everyone who made this possible, especially his family, his medical care team, and his friends.
Heinz leaves behind a large family including wife Ruth, Son Eric (Sue), Daughters Yvonne Goodis (Phil), Julia Redmont (Maurice), Grandchildren Sierra, Kai, Jasper, Aaron & Andrew. Heinz Altendorf was born in 1917 in the German village of Oppenheim. He was the eldest male in a family of seven siblings. As an outstanding student, he was trained to be a military officer in 1938. During the second world war he served as a squadron leader in the air force. He flew over three hundred missions and was awarded the Iron Cross and the German Cross in gold for his bravery under fire.
After being shot down in North Africa, he was interned as a prisoner of war in Canada. Five years later he was repatriated to Germany, but eventually immigrated to Canada with is wife and two daughters.
He worked for the Berkel Company in Toronto, until his retirement. His last years were spent in Harrison Hot Springs. This was the happiest time of his life. He was an avid hiker who introduced many people in the Fraser Valley to the pleasures of outdoor recreation. He was a quiet, dignified man who inspired respect and affection from his family, friends, and neighbors. There will be a small ceremony in his honour at Mt. Cheam on a trail he loved to hike.

Frank Raymond Jones passed away September 11 in the Chilliwack General Hospital. He was 92. Ray was born in Horsefly, BC. When he was seven, his family relocated to Victoria where he later attended what was then Victoria College and graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Mining Engineering. After a very successful career in mining, which took him from British Columbia, to New York State, to Northern Ontario, Ray retired to McKinley Lake, near his birthplace in the Cariboo, where he had designed and built an A-frame log house. This was home for the next 30 years, except for the winter months when he retreated to Agassiz. Ray is survived by his wife of 67 years, Yvonne; three sons, Neil, Scott, and Chris; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

BORTON, Eileen M. aged 94 years, passed away on August 23rd 2008 in Campbell River, B.C. Pre-deceased by her loving husband Keith in 1987, and son Lionel in 1967. Surviving are her loving family, son Dan (Joy) Borton and daughter-in law Yvonne (Art) McAllister. Her grand-children, Lorna, Garry, Wayne, Barbara, Dianne and Daryl, great-grand-children and great, great grand-children and also her little dog Daisy.
Eileen will be fondly remembered by many relatives and friends.

Richard Ole Cookman was taken tragically on August 15, 2008. Richard was born in Mackenzie on June 27th, 1984 and enjoyed life in Campbell River, Port McNeill, and Sandspit, graduating from Agassiz Senior Secondary in 2002. After graduation he attended UCFV for his Welding Ticket and followed his attraction to the north, living and fishing in Kitimat B, C. becoming a brother Millwright. Richard understood people, had a zest for life and a demeanor that calmed and attracted all who met him. His bright eyes showed a window into a bright, fun-loving person whom was a joy to be with and brought happiness to all who knew him. He was a precious gift and we take comfort from knowing him and great comfort from loving him. He will be so missed. She is survived by her husband Bob, parents Jim and Florence in Prince Edward Island; their children Lori, Jimmy, Angie and Chris; their grandchildren Jessica, Kale, Christina, Nike and Tiffany; her brothers Bob and David; their families and all close friends. Nancy’s love for all, her wit care and compassion will be abundantly missed by all who knew her.
