PRITCHARD, James Lorne Friday, 26 Sep 2008
White Rock, BC
Jim died peacefully in the early morning of September 26, 2008 in Peace Arch Hospital.
Jim will be remembered as a loving family man, avid fisherman, and a man who didn't shy away from expressing his opinion. He was active in city politics in Chilliwack during the 1970's and greatly enjoyed the company of people, as well as his own solitude, especially near a river, lake, or ocean.
His accomplishments were many throughout his business life, his friendships were sincere and lasting.
Dad was pre-deceased by his daughter Nancy in 1982, and the love of his life Elaine in 2003. He missed them both enormously. He is survived by me, Lisle, and I will miss his wisdom, sense of humour and guidance. He was always the rock in my sometimes turbulent world.
Everyone is invited to services being held on Friday, October 10th at 10:00 am at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Home, 14831-28 Ave., Surrey, B.C.
Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre.

March 23 1908 - September 24 2008
Flo (nee Bell) passed away peacefully at Westminster House, Surrey BC on Wednesday September 24th
She is loved and missed by her daughter, Carol and son-in-law Murray McLaughlin, grandchildren, Greg (Janice) McLaughlin, Shari (William) West and great grandchildren Jordan and Mason West. She also leaves her brother, Willis Bell of Lethbridge Alberta and six nieces. She was pre-deceased by Eric, her husband of 67 years in January 2000, and by her three sisters.
Flo was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and spent her early years on the family farm at Donovan Sask. When she was nine the family lived briefly in Victoria BC and she determined at that time that was where she wished to live her life. She returned to Victoria where she completed high school and entered the Royal Jubilee School of Nursing. She was a graduate of the class of 1929. She and Eric were married in January of 1933 and they made their home in Oak Bay where, except for three years in the late thirties, they lived until 1999. In May of that year they moved to Westminster House to be nearer to family.
Flo was passionate about caring for people, nursing, gardening and she loved to take long walks, preferably to the beach. She continued to enjoy her walks after moving to Surrey and even in her mid nineties often made the long trek on her own to White Rock Beach. She has always been known for her sunny smile and gentle disposition and will leave a void in the lives of many.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Benitez and all the loving staff at Westminster House who have cared for her, so well, these past nine years and particularly these past few weeks.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, October 6th at Westminster house. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.

Lloyd, Ivy (nee Millward) August 31, 1907 passed away peacefully September 23, 2008. Born in England she came to Manitoba with her parents and 3 siblings. Rinaldi, Richard Wednesday, 30 Apr 2008
Terrace, BC
March 17, 1924 - April 30, 2008
Richard was born in Nice, France. He joined the French Underground (le Maquis) at the age of 18, then enlisted in the Free French Forces (Forces Francaises Libre) where, amongst his other responsibilities; he drove five-ton trucks to the Front Line. In May 1945 he was promoted to Gen. de Gaulle’s headquarters in Paris. One day, while strolling near the Eiffel Tower, he met beautiful Janine Tixador. They were married in Paris in January 1946, where their children John, Emma & Chantal were born. The family immigrated to Canada in 1952, starting out at Kwinitsa (midway between Terrace and Prince Rupert) where Richard found employment with CN. After living at various CN locations in BC, the family moved to Terrace in 1964.
“Man of Steel” Richard Rinaldi worked for the CN for 35 years, progressing to Program Supervisor in charge of large steel gangs that laid new steel in British Columbia and Alberta. He was also foreman at the Terrace yard from 1970-1987, leaving every year from spring to fall to supervise the gangs. His foresight in saving the CN Kwinitsa house from demolition a few years ago lead to the restoration of this historic railroad building that now sits on the Grand Trunk Pathway.
Richard was pre-deceased by the great love of his life, Janine, who passed away in November, 2004. They are now together again, with Jesus.
Always remembered, always loved by:
Children: John (Sharon), Emma (Bruce) and Chantal (Rick); Grand-children: Doris (Ken), Joan (Sheldon), Gregory, Barbara, Stanley, Mark (Tanya), Matthew, Michael (Sarah), Christine, Nathan; Great-Grandchildren: Christopher, Ryan, Zachary, Joey, Korina, Jeremiah, Malachi, Benjamin, Brook-Lynn, Lucas
O you whom I have loved so much,
on earth, pray for me and live in
such a manner that we may be
re-united for ever in a Blessed Eternity. The family extends their gratitude to Father Terry, the CWL, Dr. de Wit, the nurses at Mills Memorial Hospital, and all who offered condolences and support.
