On Sunday, December 26, 2010, Mrs. Esther Williston (nee Johnson) passed away peacefully at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home at the age of 75 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Cam of 51 years, in September 2006. She is survived by her son, John (Donna) of Yellowknife, her three daughters, Sherry (Murray) Willis of Kamloops, Carol (Doug) Adams of Tsawwassen and Gayle (Gary) Hunter of Merville, B.C. and her 12 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. She also leaves to cherish her memory her birth family of three sisters, Lynn, Ruby and Helmy and three brothers, Art, Ivor and Eric, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant sister, Florence in 1937, and also predeceased by her two brothers and five sisters of her adoptive family, Lena, Henry, Harold, Margaret, Edna, Hilda and Edith. She is also remembered by many nieces and nephews of her adoptive family.
Mom was born Esther Fresada Ingeborg Johnson in Evelyn, B.C. in 1935, to Bjuty and John Johnson. Mom met Dad in Smithers, when he came to work for his brother. They were married April 1955 in Penticton. Dad’s work took them to Kelowna, Salmon Arm, Vancouver and then to Kamloops. When Mom had finished raising us kids, she took a job driving school bus, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
When Mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in September 2010, she proceeded to get her affairs in order for the time when she would leave us. Mom had a brief stay in the hospital, and went into the Marjorie Willoughby Home for her last 10 days. She spoke often of the wonderful care she was receiving in hospice and appreciated so very much the caring staff. She also wanted thanks to go to the caring nurses on 3W at RIH. Special thanks to Dr. Hollman, the wonderful nurses and caring staff at the Marjorie Willoughby Home.
Funeral service will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Kamloops Convention Centre, 1250 Rogers Way, Kamloops B.C. with Mr. Dwayne Powell officiating.

Cornelius George Regehr passed away into the presence of his Lord on Sunday, December 26, 2010, at the age of 99, while a resident at the Worthington Pavilion.
He is predeceased by Katherine, his wife of 62 years, and his second wife, Elizabeth of 4 years.
He is survived by his children, John (Wendy), Hank (Joyce), Marge (Ken) Friesen, & Chuck (Betsy); 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
His charm, intellect, and poetry will be missed.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, from 7 to 9 pm, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford.
Graveside Service will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, December 31, at Yarrow Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life Service at 11 am at Clearbrook MB Church, 2719 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford.

We are saddened to announce the passing of Leslie Newman who died peacefully at the age of 85, on December 26, 2010.
He was predeceased by his parents and eleven sisters and brothers.
Leslie will be dearly missed by his devoted wife, daughter, three sons, eight grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 549 Carson Drive, Williams Lake at 11:00 am on Monday, January 3, 2011 with Rev. Susan Hermanson officiating.

He is survived by his loving wife, Doris, of 66 years; daughter, Linda Samoylove of Kamloops; four sons: Jerry Engene, Ron Engene (Betty), David Engene (Gena), Marvin Engene (Sandra) all of Kelowna, nine grandchildren: Brian, Matthew, Sonya, Bobby, Jon, Nick Kayla, Nathan and Brandon; two great-grandchildren: Alex and Samantha; sister Lily Bayson (John) of Mission, B.C., and nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his son-in-law, Gary Samoylove and daughter-in-law, Susie.

On January 29, 2020 in Cranbrook, B.C., two of Pat’s daughters had the honour of seeing their Mom off on to her next journey with God.
Our Mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, a truly warm-hearted and wonderful spirit to friends and family alike.
Pat loved life, and whether she was playing bingo, 5 pin bowling, working out at Curves, chatting on the phone with friends and family, or simply sitting on her front steps talking to people passing by while enjoying her Pepsi, she embraced living with passion.
Pat spent many hours volunteering at the local thrift stores, the food bank, her church, the Legion and Eastern Star, always willing to help out anyone in need.
Born to William & Julia King (Palmer) in Crawford Bay, B.C., in 1934.
Pat, at age 22, met and married Edmon William Oslund.
Eddie and Pat made Kimberly, B.C., their home, with Eddie working for Cominco and Pat, at home, raising their four children.
Pat is survived by her large and loving family.
Her sister, Norma Hempstock of Kimberley; her daughter, Elaine Stepan (Jaro) of Cranbrook; son, Stephen Oslund (Ruth) of Prince George; daughter, Lynn King (Warren) of Mission; and daughter, Sandra Oslund of Victoria; her grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew, Tomas (Brandy), Sara (Justin), Aron, Justin (Desiree), and Amy.
Pat’s great-grandchildren, Taliya, Oakley, Zariya, Annika, Ava, Donitello, and Althea; sisters-in-law, Anne Oslund and Margaret Oslund; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Love of family to Pat was all encompassing.
Her extended grandchildren are Justin, Harmony (Dustin), Erica and Natasha, and her extended great-grandchildren, Jordan and Madison.
Predeceased by her husband, Eddie, in 2003, her mom, Julia and father, William, brothers, George, Robert and Melvin (Unkie), sisters, Rosanne, Beatrice, Lorraine, Louise and Sylvia.
The family would like to thank the staff at Joseph Creek Care Village, for their love and care of Mom over the past few years.
There will be a service on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the Kimberley United Church at 1:00 pm.
There will be a lunch to follow.

Sorely missed and forever deep in our hearts.
Born November 16, 1944 in Kamloops, B.C., he passed away in his sleep in the early hours of December 26, 2010 at his home in Williams Lake.
Sam was predeceased by his mother, Hattie Ash and his father, Chris Ash, two sisters, Charlotte and Evelyn and brother, Edwin.
Sam is survived by his sister, Betty, brother, Roger, sons, Chris, Craig and Charlie, grandchildren, Creston, Colby, Whitney, Corbin and Austin.
He is also survived by his very dear nephews from the Colville family, his cherished companion, Debbie, Aunt Elsie and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Raised in Big Lake, Sam spent most of his life in Williams Lake.
His construction company, Ash Construction, built many homes in the area throughout the 1970’s and early 1980’s.
He turned his focus to the logging industry in the mid-1980’s, until he retired in the mid-2000’s.
A celebration of Sam’s life will be held at the old Bil-Nor on Saturday, January 1st at 2:00 pm.

Quiring, John

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of John Quiring on December 25, 2010 in Vernon, at 102 years of age.
John was born in Rosthern, SK, October 12, 1908 to Cornelius and Gertrude.
He leaves behind his loving family; daughter, Irene Anderson of Armstrong; son, Lionel (Jessie) Tripp of Chilliwack; son, Brent (Pandy) Quiring of Fort McMurray, AB; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Eva, on November 23, 2010; and his two sons, Wayne and Gary.
John lived in Saskatchewan, where he married Eva Mary Deschenes on December 19, 1953, then resided in Alberta, before coming to Armstrong, over 40 years ago.
He worked as a mechanic and millwright.
In his retirement, John enjoyed flea markets, garage sales, fishing, and playing cards with friends and family.
A Celebration of Life Tea will be held at Personal Alternative Funeral Services (2980 Smith Drive, Armstrong) on Wednesday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m.
