Swan "John" Mansus
Dec. 28, 1944 - Mar. 25, 2009
John, at the age of 64, peacefully passed away in the arms of his sister, Mildred.
His love for his daughter, Michele and son, Chris of Kamloops, will endure.
Also, survived by sister, Sheron Hutton Mansus of Kamloops; sister, Mildred Desy of Merritt; nephew, Mark Desy (Joanne & 4 girls) of Langley; niece, Sherry (Alan) Rauch & sons, Evan, Wade and her daughters, Brittany and Tiffany Brabant, all of Merritt; sister, Gloria Mansus (Craig Miller of Nelson) & their sons, Matthew, Micah, Malik Miller of Merritt.
Predeceased by his father, John (1985); mother, Lilly (2004); sister, Lyla Mansus (1983); and baby daughter, Mamie (1987).
John had a quiet life, enjoying his crossword puzzles, scratch tickets and watching hockey, especially his Canucks.
John "TJ" was employed at the Tranquille Institution, until its closure; for the City of Kamloops Parks Maintenance, until early 2000's.
Then, due to illness, he moved to Merritt, to be with family.
In these years, he was dearly cared for by his sister, Mildred.
John was a kind and gentle soul and will be dearly missed.

Andre Marcel Guillou
April 15, 1927 - March 24, 2009
It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our beloved father and husband, Andre Guillou, on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 in Kamloops, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Paulette, his daughters, Jacqueline Hungerford, Michelle Gill and husband, Norm and Donna Bergen and husband, Cliff.
He also leaves his grandchildren, Matthew and Sara Hungerford, Robert Gill and Mark, Nolan and Megan Bergen, and his sisters, Suzanne and Alphonsine of France.
Andre was born in St. Yvi, France, on April 15, 1927,67iop-9[0 and immigrated to Canada, in November of 1950.
He arrived in Halifax, and made his way across Canada, settling in Kamloops, B.C.
Andre married Paulette in 1961, and together, they had three children.
Andre worked for various electrical contractors and was a long-standing member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and in 2008, he was recognized as a 55-year member.
His work took him to various projects in the mining industry, as well as the Revelstoke Dam, Weyerhauser Pulp Mill and the City of Kamloops.
Andre and Paulette retired to Shuswap Lake, in 1990, and spent many wonderful years there.
Dad enjoyed gardening, fishing, wine making and was happy to lend a helping hand whenever asked.
Andre also ran the Saratoga Community Water System for many years.
Together, mom and dad enjoyed traveling abroad, spending time with friends and dad loved nothing more than having his whole family together under his roof.
He will be greatly missed.
Special thanks to Father Derrick, Dr. Newmarch, the entire staff at the Morjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice in Kamloops, as well as the many friends who provided heartfelt support to our family during this difficult time.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Cathedral, 255 Nicola St., on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at 12:30 p.m.

William (Bill) Rand
December 7, 1916 - March 23, 2009
William (Bill) Rand, passed away, peacefully, at Royal Inland Hospital, at age 92.
He leaves behind his son, Mervin, grandchildren: Lory Rand, Sheryl (Fred) Buxton, Bill Rand (Maria), Sheldon Belcher (Joanna), Lani Belcher; great-grandchildren: Raelene Belcher (Trevor), Cam Belcher; and great-great-grandson, Carson.
Many nieces and nephews.
Part of the family very important to him: Tony Belcher, Crystal & Shane Lillico, Pat & Eric Lyren, Gay Rand, Rita Thomas, as well as many friends.
The family is grateful to Vivian King, Dr. Tom, and Dr. Gerry Farnsworth, for their friendship to Bill.
Bill was born in Trochu, Alberta, on December 7, 1916.
The family had 11 children, all have preceded him, except for his older brother, Fred Radomske.
Bill loved and enjoyed the large family that he was born into.
He married Pauline Reister in 1936.
His wife, Pauline, passed away in 1967, and his daughter, Marilyn, passed away in 1991.
In the 40's, Bill and family moved from Alberta, to Princeton, where he worked at Copper Mountain as a underground miner.
In the mid 40's, he moved with his family to Summerland, B.C., to become an orchardist, growing fruit in the Okanagan.
In the 50's, Bill moved his family to Settler Alberta.
From there, he went to auctioneer school in Mason City, Iowa, and became an Auctioneer.
In 1957, he moved to Kamloops, with his family.
He had many auctions around the area.
In the 60's, he started selling cattle for B.C. Livestock Co-op.
He sold cattle in Kamloops, Quesnel, Williams Lake, Prince George, Merritt, OK Falls; he was with the Co-op for approximately 16 years.
From there, he conducted many auctions in Alberta, and Kamloops, area.
He also did many charity auctions for the Antique Car Club and the Kamloops Fish and Game Club.
Bill was a part-time auctioneer into his 80's.
He enjoyed his profession.
In 2002, he was the first person inducted into the Association of British Columbians Auctioneer's Hall of Fame.
Bill loved his cabin at Nicola Lake, and would try to get out there as much as possible.
He enjoyed his time with Pat & Eric and many lake friends.
The family thanks his many friends that he met with for morning and afternoon coffee.
They were very important in his life.
The family would also like to thank the nurses and doctors of 6th North.
There will be no service at his request.
The family will have a celebration of life in the Summer.
Mostyk, Peter

Peter Mostyk left us peacefully on June 7, 2009 at the age of 71 years.
Peter will forever be remembered by his loving wife of 47 years, Iris (born Kereluke).
Proud father of Allen (Louise), Tony (Sherry), Jeff (Kate) and Debra (Terry).
Beloved grandfather of Jordan, Blake, Taya (Mostyk) and Bryce and Tevin (Piwek); and step-grandfather to Brooklynn and Mason.
Peter leaves in mourning, several relatives and friends across Canada, especially in Saskatchewan, including Marvin and Julie Kereluke.
Peter is predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Annie Mostyk.
Peter was born and raised in Wynyard, SK, where, after marrying his beloved wife, Iris, in 1962, they started to raise their 4 children.
The family relocated to Kamloops, B.C., in 1968, where for many years, Peter worked in the Afton Mine, until its closure in the 1990's.
An avid hockey fan, he never missed a Saturday of Hockey Night in Canada.
His many passions included cribbage, gardening and many evenings enjoying Music in the Park.
Peter will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but will always be remembered in our hearts.
An open-house celebration of Peter's life, will be held from 2:00 p.m., until 5:00 p.m., on Friday, June 19, 2009, at 984 Bebek Rd., in Westsyde.

Bilyk, Thelma Irene
December 29, 1924 - June 7, 2009
Thelma Irene Bilyk of Kamloops, passed away on June 7, 2009, at the age of 84 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Thorpe of Armstrong, and Carol Kicey of Armstrong; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernice of Armstrong, and Margaret of USA, and brother, Ed of Kamloops; and she will also be missed by her many friends.
Predeceased by her husband, Alex and daughters, Cathy and Pat.
Thelma was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on December 29, 1924, to George and Rhoda Drinkle.
She was raised in New Westminster, B.C., and married Alex there, in 1948.
Thelma lived in Kamloops, more than 40 years, and liked to stay involved in the community.
She was a lifetime member of the Royal Purple, and an active member of Desert Gardens.
An avid crafter, Thelma was also known as a social butterfly, and was loved by all who knew her.
The family would like to offer special thanks to all of her wonderful friends at Ponderosa, and also, to Nurse Betty, for her loving care of Thelma.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 15th, 2009, at 1:00 pm, in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Vern Frudd officiating.
Following the service, Thelma will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Thelma, may be made to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home, 72 Whiteshield Cr., South, Kamloops, B.C. V2E 2S9.

Pipe, Isobel Rhoda
1917 - 2009
Isobel Rhoda Pipe of Kamloops passed away on June 5, 2009, at 92 years of age.
Survived by her sister, Carol Burt. Also survived by her children, David (Terri), Michael and Lorna (Frank) Janas; grandchildren, Leah, Lorri, Terry, Russell (Yumi), Glenn (Cathy), Chris (Mei-Ling), Keith (Diana), and Jaron; great-grandchildren, Lisa, Robert, Cody, Maverick, Monica, Thomas, Matthew and Samantha.
Predeceased by Frederick Stewart (husband), Kenneth Colin (son), Nora (sister) and Norman and John (brothers).
Belle was born in 1917, in Vancouver.
Married Stewart in 1943.
They spent their lives in many different locations throughout British Columbia, following Stewart's work.
Her final years were spent at Overlander Hospital, where she made many friends.
She is going to be dearly missed.
A special thanks to Dr. Tomm and the special care she received from the staff at Overlander Hospital.
The memorial service will take place at 10:00 am, on Monday, June 15, 2009, at Overlander Extended Care (The Gathering Room). Interment to follow at 1 p.m., at Hillside Cemetery.
Daniel Joseph Campbell
Daniel left us suddenly and crossed over on June 5, 2009 at the early age of 29.
He will be greatly missed by his family: his loving mother, Lois; stepfather, Carl; father, Michel; sisters: Brittany, Monica, Charlotte and Raelyn; his brothers: Jeremiah and Morgan; grandma, Jessie and grandma, Shirley; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dan was born in Saskatoon, SK, and moved to the Fraser Valley, when he was 6 years old, and finally settled in the Kamloops area, in 1992. He was a gifted artist, writer and philosopher; he was a nature lover, avid snowboarder, dirt biker and a rock hound.
"May your star be forever brilliant with a radiating beam of light and shine your hopes and visions, in a world that lacks insight."
