Kyla Dawn Bruno
January 31, 1986 - January 2, 2008
You were our beautiful daughter
Who now lives inside our hearts,
Because the bond we once shared
Even death could never part.
Time does not heal the pain we feel
Every moment our hearts still ache,
As we're thinking about our precious one
With every breath we take.
We know that you're still with us
As we sit and watch the butterflies,
When we are calling out to you
We can still hear your sweet voice reply
We want you to know how much we miss you
And together again we'll be,
Because we know you're waiting in Heaven
Where we will live forever in eternity. (In loving Memory of Our Precious Daughter and Sister)
Gannon, Shirley Ann
August 22, 1937 - December 28, 2008
Shirley was born August 22, 1937, in Edmonton, Alberta, passed into the arms of our Lord on December 28, 2008 at Prince George Regional Hospital with her immediate family by her side.
She was predeceased by her parents, Karl and Gerda Holmberg, of Chilliwack, B.C., her brother, Rune and his wife, Winnie of Mission B.C., and her daughter, Jo-Anne Louise Wessel of Terrace B.C.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Morris (Moe), their three daughters, Deborah Lynn Nilsen (Toby), Cynthia Marie Bouthillier (Rick), Caroline Sewell, five sisters, Ruth Brown of Bellingham Wash., Gladys Schucard (Jerry), Doris Halverson (Al), Nancy Smith, all of Abbotsford, B.C., Alice Dollemore of Houston, B.C., and one brother, Douglas Holmberg (Norma) of Terrace, B.C. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was a "people person" who immensely enjoyed and loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her friends. She developed many friendships while travelling with her husband to Germany; New Brunswick; London and Barrie, Ontario; Chilliwack and Victoria, B.C., during his 20-year military career; in Kitimat, during their time there and many more since moving to Prince George, 32 years ago. She worked as a school secretary in Sardis, and went on to work in various offices of the Forestry Department in Kitimat, and Prince George. There were no "strangers" in her life for she spoke to anyone who was nearby. Her life was family, friends and home. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
The family gives special thanks to the nursing staff of the Family Medicine Unit Pod "B" for the care and kindness shown to Shirley during her stay in the hospital. We also thank them for their attention to the family during their visitations. Thanks also to Dr. Daniel Plouffe, who cared for her through all of her illnesses, over the last 4 years.
A prayer service and celebration of her life was held at St. Mary's Church, 1088 Gillett St. Prince George, B.C., on Friday, January 2, 2009, at 7 p.m., and the celebration of her life, followed at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, with Father Richard Beaudette presiding. Cremation to follow. In memory of Shirley, donations made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, the B.C. Transplant Society or the B.C. Cancer Society would be appreciated.

On the evening of December 26, 2008, my mom passed gently away into the night, after a short fight with cancer. She gave me a last gift over the last couple of weeks that she would want me to share.
Her gift to me and hopefully to you is to remember that, during the Christmas holidays (and always really), don't stress so much on what present to buy, on finding that extra "thing", or spending fifteen hours on the perfect dinner. What really matters, is that you reach out to your family, hug them, and don't wait to make the effort to call a family member or friend. You never know what will happen tomorrow.
She is at peace now. Sharing this with you is my gift to her.
She will be dearly missed and remembered forever.
A private ceremony will be held at the request of the family.

Elizabeth (Betty) Barnard
Born: April 10, 1925, Netherlands
Passed away: December 14, 2008, Surrey, B.C..
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing or our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend.
Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered by Ray, her husband of 49 years; her children, Donald, Gordon (Liliana), David (April) and Diane (Brad); her grandchildren, Jameson, Cassandra, Brandon, Corey, Eric and Michael; and her five siblings in Alberta.
God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you, and whispered 'Come with Me'
With tearful eyes we watched you suffer, and saw you fade away,
Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove, He only takes the best.
When days are sad and lonely, and everything goes wrong,
We seem to hear you whisper, 'Cheer up and carry on'.
Each time we see your picture, you seem to smile and say,
'Don't cry, I'm in God's keeping, we'll meet again someday'.
