It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family of Earl "Blondie" Blundell announce his passing on March 20, 2009, after a lengthy illness.
He is now at peace with his one true love, Annie, who passed away April 9, 2000.
Earl was affectionately called "Gong Gong" by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Earl was an avid outdoorsman who loved life and all it had to offer: everything from snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, or just the many "events" at the family home at Wasa.
AEarl also had a passion for music and to entertain people with his piano playing.
Earl also enjoyed travelling and truly enjoyed his trips down south every winter with Annie.
He leaves to mourn his passing his son, Ed (Roxanne) of Wasa Lake, B.C.; 2 daughters: Theresa (John) Lewis of Creston, B.C. and Cheryl (Jim) Penson of Kimberley, B.C.; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Earl also leaves behind 2 brothers: Thomas of Penticton, B.C.; Edgar (Marsha) of Kamloops, B.C.; a sister: Judy Radelet of Parksville, B.C. and a foster sister: Joanne Smith of Kamloops, B.C.
A friendly gathering of friends and family to Celebrate Earl's Life will be held at the Kimberley Elks Hall located at 240 Howard Street, on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 2:00 pm.

Wilkinson, Florence Marguerit
September 21, 1921 - March 15, 2009
Florence Marguerit (Holm) Wilkinson passed away peacefully on March 15, 2009, at the age of 87, in the F.W. Green Memorial Home.
Florence was born in Wardner, on September 21, 1921, to Alida and Ole Holm of Wardner.
The family consisted of five brothers and five sisters.
One sister, Ellen V. Reay of Jaffray, survives.
Florence lost her beloved husband, Tim Wilkinson, to cancer in 1977.
Many nieces and nephews survive and will miss her greatly.
Memorial service will be held at the Cranbrook LDS Church, 2nd Street North, on Saturday, March 21, at 11:00am
Chapman, Frederick Alvin
Born: October 19, 1930 in Ridgedale, Saskatchewan
Passed Away: March 7, 2009 in Cranbrook, British Columbia
The family of Frederick Alvin Chapman sorrowfully announce his quiet passing on Saturday, March 7, 2009, after a long and courageous bout with cancer.
Fred loved to fish, dance and curl. .
He is survived by his children: Carline (Jake) Charbonneau; Kelly (Kim) Chapman; Tammy (Aaron) Foraie; Shawn Chapman; the mother of his children Louiesa Pierce; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; one brother: Nelson (Jean) Chapman; his special friend: Lil Chilton; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Fred will be held at McPherson Funeral Home, in Cranbrook, on Friday, March 13, 2009, at 2:00 pm.

Rutherford, Dorothy (Gwen)

On Monday, March 2, 2009, Mrs. Dorothy (Gwen) Rutherford passed away suddenly at Kamloops, at the age of 78 years.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Janice (Bruce) Grunert of Kamloops, and sons, Kent (Katherine) Rutherford of Cranbrook, and Carter (Ari) Rutherford of New Westminster, and grandchildren, Matthew (Danica) Grunert, Lucas (Ashley) Grunert, Daniel Grunert, Joshua Rutherford, and Amanda Rutherford, and 3 great-granddaughters, who she loved, Adora, Grace, and Reece.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Charles Rutherford and their daughter Jayne Rutherford.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009, at 1 p.m., at the Kamloops Alliance Church, with Pastor Larry Boss officiating.
Should friends desire, donations to the B.C. Cancer Agency or B.C. Children's Hospital.
Musil, Gordon
March 17, 1910 - Feb 28, 2009
Gordon was born on March 17, 1910, in the Elk Valley, B.C., at a place then known as Elk Prairie.
At the age of 14, he started working in the mines in the Elk Valley, for Crow's Nest Industries.
He started training the horses and soon advanced and worked his way up to become the youngest motorman to ever be working there.
During World War II, Gordon served as a medic in England.
When he returned, he once again worked for the same company, but in various positions including exploration.
He bought land in the Elk Valley, and started a farm there while he worked.
In 1953, he married Virginia Manning and they continued their life there, raising 3 children, until Gordon retired at the age of 62.
In 1972, they moved to Gray Creek, B.C., and continued to raise their family.
Gordon was predeceased by his parents, Phillip and Elizabeth; his brothers, Fred Stanley, Len and Phil; and his sisters, Yarmilla and Mary.
He will be missed by his wife, Virginia; his sister, Mildred Nearing; daughters, Carrell (Gerry) Farnum and Josephine Musil; and son, Rodney (Christy) Musil; his grandsons, Linden, Derek, Bryce, and Daniel; his granddaughters, Chelsea and Ceira; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, March 7, 2009, at the Gray Creek Hall in Gray Creek, B.C., with Canon Rev. Randy Wood officiating.
Following the service, interment took place at the Gray Creek Community Cemetery.

Johnson, Floyd Marvin
1924 - February 27, 2009
It is with great sorrow that the family of Floyd Johnson announce his sudden and unexpected passing at Joseph Creek Care Village on February 27, 2009.
Floyd was born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, in 1924. He grew up with his four brothers in a small, one-bedroom house, near Admiral, Saskatchewan during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl years.
For entertainment during the long prairie winters, the boys learned to play instruments that their father built. The brothers soon became well-known for their musical talents. Music was Floyd's passion and he could play the cello, guitar, violin and banjo. He was also blessed with a strong voice and he and his two brothers, Alf and Sig, entertained at many local venues during the 1940's and 1950's.
Floyd moved to Cranbrook, in the 1940's, where he worked in the logging industry.
He met and married Helene Schellenberg in 1947.
They lived on an acreage outside of Cranbrook, where they raised purebred Arabian horses and maintained a small farm for many years.
Floyd opened his own General Repair Service in 1955, & he also worked for Hume Electric, but he was best known for his delivery service for the Spic and Span Cleaners. He also worked many years for Miller & Brown Trucking, Direct Transport and Motorways. Floyd was an executive member of the original Cranbrook Boxing Club and he was a lifelong member of the Scandinavian Brotherhood.
Floyd was truly devoted to his family. He always put the needs of his family, friends and animals first. He had a friendly, kind and generous spirit. He focused on the positive and never complained. He always saw the best in everyone.
Floyd was predeceased by his wife in 1994, and his son, Duane, in 2005.
He was also predeceased by his four brothers: Elmer, Alf, Sig and Eldor.
Floyd is survived by his daughter, Sonja (Franco) Leschiutta and granddaughter, Lindsay; daughter-in-law, Jean Johnson; grandchildren: Debbie (Sonny) Pawar, Shannon (Ricardo) Leiva, Lesley Johnson, Gregory Johnson and three great-grandchildren.
Floyd is also survived by his four sisters-in-law: Doreen Johnson, Iona Johnson, Agnus Johnson and Madeline Johnson, plus many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A memorial service for Floyd will be held at McPherson Funeral home in Cranbrook, on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 2:00 pm.

LEA, SIEGRID "SIGI" (nee Hausknecht)
July 11, 1941 - May 13, 2009
Born July 11, 1941, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2009.
Siegrid is lovingly remembered by her husband, Roger, sons, Perry and Andy (Nicole), daughter, Krista and grandsons, Jakob and Kaden.
Predeceased by sister, Kay (Jim) survived by brothers, Vi, Wally, Ted (Heather) and sister, Helen (Denis), as well as many family and friends.
Sigi will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held May 24, 2009, at Hazelmere Country Club, 18150 8th Ave., Surrey, in the Panarama Room at 11 a.m., followed by a celebration of her life.
