On October 17, 2002 George Arnold Gilmour of Squamish, passed away peacefully at Squamish General Hospital. George was 75 years old. He is lovingly remembered and will be forever missed by his wife, Maureen, 3 sons Ross (Wendy), Randy, Kevin (Deanne), his sister Roberta Geddes, 6 grandchildren Janette, Jennifer, Laurel, Kayla, Jared, Daniel, extended family and by his many relatives and dear friends. James William Hurren
HURREN - James William (81) Born February 21, 1921 in Squamish, B.C. Passed away peacefully after a short illness October 1, 2002 at Hilltop House. Jim was predeceased by his wife Frances and daughter Joan. He is survived by loving son Scott, brother Marshall and sister Josephine, and many other relatives and friends. Jim served in the R.C.A.F. in WWII as an aircraft mechanic, stationed in Goose Bay, Labrador. He worked at the then P.G.E. Railway which became B.C. Rail and was there for 47 years. Jim was a past president of the Royal Canadian Legion in Squamish and an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of The Squamish Valley Golf & Country Club and enjoyed many a round there. Jim and Brother John were the first twins born in Squamish. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Hilltop House and Howe Sound Support Services and Squamish General Hospital for their kind and thoughtful care. Jim?s sense of humor and wit will be missed by his many family and friends. In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to Hilltop House Support Society, Box 562, Squamish, B.C. V0N 3G0. Lessels May LeBlanc. It is with great sadness we announce the death of our mother, born December 18, 1926. On October 17, 2002 at the age of 75 she passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital in Vancouver, B.C. surrounded by her immediate family. Predeceased by her husband, Alphonse (Peter) in 1987; father William; brothers Les and William. Lessels leaves behind her mother, Eva Balbirnie of Lillooet; daughters Charlene (Peter) of Kelowna, Shirley (Allen) of Westbank; sons Norman (Pat) and Douglas (Cherie) of Pemberton; and 10 grandchildren, Arnie, Jake, Simon, Cady, Hannah, Jeanette, Hailey, Mackenzie, Ashley and Nicole; along with many family members and friends. Peacefully after a long illness, George Robert Brodie of Britannia Beach, aged 64 years. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter's Lynn (Lane), Jackie (John) and son Ben from his first marriage; by his wife Sharon and daughter's Rhonda (Brad) and Lori (Doug), many grandchildren and his extended family Tammy, Dwayne, Wesley, Ron (Sue). George was a hard working man who lived life to the fullest. His happiest moments were when he was working with the big machines and spending time with his family. Jeffrey John Nash
On October 30, 2002, Jeff Nash passed away peacefully after waging a courageous and noble battle with cancer. Jeff was 45 years old. Jeff lives on in the hearts and memories of his wife Heather, son Jared, daughter Aubrey, his parents Sydney and Dorothy, 2 brothers David and Michael and his many dear friends (Kasthin and Emma), who shared in Jeff's wonderful life. Thomas Alexander Lewis
Tom was born in Chilliwack on September 27, 1949.
He died peacefully from complications arising from the treatment of his testicular cancer.
Tom fought with fierce determination from beginning to end.
He is survived by his wife Alma, daughters Heather and Aryn, sisters, Terry (Bob), Mary (Bill), Cathy (Al), brother Dave, and step-mother Margaret Lundgren.
Uncle Tom is survived by nieces and nephews Andrea, Lynette, Tom, Carla, Burt, Dawn, Adam and Tyler.
He was pre-deceased by his uncle and great friend Frank Lewis.
Tom loved hunting and back road expeditions.
And then there was golf.
It was more than just a game to him.
He loved the challenge, the strategy and the company of his friends.
Tom worked at the pulp mill for 35 years, starting out as a fire cleaner and eventually becoming production superintendent.
His commitment to his job carried on well after his workday was done.
With characteristic determination he thrived on solving the complex problems that arose.
A gathering to remember Tom will be held Saturday, November 9, at 1:00 p.m. at the Squamish Valley Golf and Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Cancer Foundation for Testicular Cancer Research.

Raymond (Ray) Warren Cochlin, born September 5, 1931, died November 16, 2002 at Squamish General Hospital.
Predeceased by his parents, 5 brothers, 4 sisters and granddaughter Claire.
Ray leaves behind his devoted wife of 46 years Rosemary (nee Egan) and his brother Dale.
Dad will be missed by his children, Christopher, Therese (Jim Morgan), Matthew, Peter (Melissa White), Georgina (Christian Roy) and daughter-in-law Judith Mathieu; grandchildren Brooke Fee, Julien Shamus, Calym Cochlin will miss their beloved grandpa.
Ray was a kind gentleman, known to many as the Chef behind "Dean's" Restaurant.
His talents in the kitchen will be missed by all who knew him.
Prayers will be offered on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at 5:00 p.m. at the Squamish Funeral Chapel, Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Squamish.

She is lovingly remembered and will be forever missed by her husband, Worden, 3 sons, Lonnie (Dixie) Jerry (Donna), Ken (Wendy), daughter Beverly (Brian) Begg, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and by her many dear friends here in Squamish and in Port Alberni.
Myrtle and Worden recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on December 5, 2002.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Squamish Baptist Church.
