Rudy Deering, aged 79, a long-time resident of West Vancouver died peacefully April 15th, 2009, in Lion's Gate Hospital in North Vancouver.
Early in his life, he moved with his parents from Manitoba, to Nanaimo, and then to West Vancouver.
Rudy loved the outdoors and sports.
In his younger years, he was active in the retriever field trial arena.
He was a life-long golfer, hunter, fisherman, horseman and boater.
He had a successful career as owner of Friell Lake Logging, a prime contractor for Skeena Sawmills in Terrace.
He loved to travel, dance and sing.
His greatest enjoyments were always those which included his family members.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan and by one son, Michael Deering of Bowen Island and 3 daughters; Gwenda Elwood of Vancouver, Leigh Deering of California and Shelly Plommer of Langley; a brother Robert Deering of West Vancouver and a sister Magdalena Spitz of North Vancouver, also seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Suddenly on April 6, 2009, Katharina Kokoshke, beloved wife of Adolf, passed away while attending a family gathering in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Ted Hamer, 84, passed away at his home with his family by his side, April 1, 2009.
Ted will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to many.
Ted leaves his wife of 60 years, Jean and their nine children and spouses.
He will forever be remembered by his many grandchildren.
Ted's family thanks Dr. Greg Linton and all the staff at Mills Memorial Hospital.
A special "thank you" to the emergency and lab staff, who were so thoughtful in their care and attention for Ted during these last few months.
The family extends its heartfelt appreciation for the outpouring of support through food and flowers sent to us following Ted's passing, and to the many people who attended the memorial service at Branch No. 13 of the Royal Canadian Legion, on Sunday, April 5, 2009.
Donations are welcome and appreciated to either the B.C. Children's Hospital, or the Canadian Cancer Society.

With his daughters by his side, Bob, beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2009, in Terrace, B.C.
Bob is survived by son, Robert (Kerrie), daughters, Rachel (Greg) and Janet (Darryl), and his wonderful grandchildren, Devan, Kelson and Jenna.
In England, he leaves two sisters, Sheila Pearson (Frank), Elspeth Storey, both of Penrith, and sisters-in-law, Eva Jackson (Harry) of Appleby, and Vera Spurr (Bruce) of Shrewsbury.
Bobby was predeceased by his parents, Robert (1984) and Annie Reay (1998) and his loving wife, Dulcie in 1989.
Bob was born and raised in Penrith, England.
Working with his father, he was a Director of the building contractor firm, Robert Reay & Son.
Bob enjoyed boxing along with being a popular and avid rugby player with the Penrith Rugby Union Football Club.
In 1954, Bob married Dulcie Watt and in 1963, along with their children, immigrated to Canada, eventually making Terrace their home.
Bob worked for the Cassiar Mining Corporation and then, as the Manager of Omineca Building Supplies.
He operated Bob Reay Contracting, until his retirement in 1989.
Bob kept busy in retirement with his family, including helping Robert building houses and spending endless time with his grandchildren; he was just the best and most wonderful grandpa.
Bob was a member of the Kitselas Masonic Lodge and in 2005, the Brethren of Kitselas Lodge bestowed an Honorary Membership to their Brother Reay.
Bob was known as a quiet, kind and gentle man, who possessed an inner strength matched by few.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, being well-respected and loved by many.
Bob is going to be sorely missed by his family and friends in both Canada and England.
He will also be missed by the staff of Terraceview Lodge, who tended to "Bobby" with such care and kindness, making his last years comfortable.
We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Strangway, ambulance staff, and nursing staff at Mills Memorial, and the medical staff at Prince George Regional Hospital, for the wonderful care and compassion they showed our dad, during this difficult time.
A Memorial Service was held in Terrace, B.C., on April 4, 2009, at St. Matthews Anglican Church.

MACCORMAC, John Daniel Chrysostom
November 15, 1944 - March 17, 2009
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to John our beloved husband, father & grandfather.
He passed away suddenly while on vacation in Costa Rica.
John was born in Halifax, NS.
He leaves behind his wife, Diane; his sons, Daniel, Dylan, Iaian (Kris); and his granddaughter, Piper MacCormac.
John will be sadly missed by his mother, Mary MacCormac; his sisters: Gwen Watson (John); Helen MacCormac; Gerarda Golding (Bill); and his brothers: Jerry MacCormac (Lorraine); Bill MacCormac (Marlene); and Ronald MacCormac (Penny).
John was predeceased by his father, John MacCormac, Sr.; and sister, Joan O'Hara (John).
John moved to Terrace in 1974, to work for the Public Works as a painter.
He later became a carpenter, then a business agent for the Carpenter's Union.
He ended his working career as an employment counsellor for the Canada Employment Center.
John was a keen supporter of his children's sports teams and he was very active and involved in the labour movement in Terrace.
John loved to travel to Costa Rica frequently, where he could put his feet up, relax and visit with his many friends there.
We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks & appreciation to all of our family and friends, near & far, who have supported us in our grief.
The thoughtful cards, meals, flowers, prayers and countless acts of kindness will never be forgotten.
A funeral will be held at the Sacred Heart Parish, 4830 Straume Ave., Terrace, on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at 1:30 pm., reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Terrace Hospice Society in John's memory.
