On Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at home in the Clinton, B.C. area after a lengthy illness. Crosby was born Aug. 4, 1929 in Vancouver, and had lived in the Cariboo since the 1970s. Survived by his daughter, Andrea Mullin (Michael) and grand-children, Bailey, Clare and Zach. Predeceased by his parents, Mr. Justice F.K. Collins and Mrs. Vera Collins; his brothers, Kaye and Adam and sister, June Grantham. Survived by his sisters, Evelyn McKinley and Zella Pratt; and many nieces and nephews. Crosby was a graduate of UBC in the faculties of Agriculture and Education. Memorial service was held on Thurs., June 24 in Vancouver, B.C.

Born Jan. 6, 1908. Passed away June 14, 2004 in 100 Mile House. Predeceased by her husband Raymond James in 1995, son Gordon in 1941 and son Dennis in 1999. Survived by her eldest son Ray of Terrace, B.C.; grandsons Brent, Mark (Sandy), Wade (Carmie); Daughter-in-law Carolyn; Denise (Ron), Todd (Gail); great-grandchildren Kevin, Krista, Kyle, Jordan, Gavin and Madison; brothers Gordon (Pat), Charlie (Olga) of 100 Mile and their families. Emma worked as a teacher in Whonnock in 1927-1928 and in Forest Grove in 1928-1929. She married Raymond in 1929 in Ruskin where Ray and Gordie were born. Moved to 93 Mile in 1935 where Dennis was born and they established a hunting camp and gas station. A cafe was added in 1947; a garage in 1948. Raymond operated the mail route to Bridge Lake for many years. In retirement they moved to Aldergrove where they golfed daily and travelled extensively. Emma and Raymond celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 100 Mile House in 1979 and their 60th in Aldergrove in 1989. After Raymond’s death, Emma lived in Surrey, then N. Vancouver until she returned to 100 Mile in June 2003. Thanks to the staff at Fischer Place for the care given her.

Nicole Geiger, Tyrone Wehrman, grandma Mona, grandpa Rick great-grandma, grandma Alison, grandpa Gary and aunts Melissa, Ashley, Tasha, Charmayne, and uncles Sean and Tom are sad to announce that the exciting moments of pregnancy have turned to sorrow and heartfelt loss with the death of our baby, McKayla Alison, on May 13, 2004. She will be sadly missed and forever loved.

After a long and extremely courageous battle with cancer, Ernie passed away peacefully at home. Ernie is survived by his wife of 14 years, Ann; his children Ernest (Sue) and Mollie (Rob); his grandchildren Damen, Steven, Revayah and Jolina Joanne; and brother Peter in Germany. Predeceased by his daughter Joanne and brother Horst (Germany). A gathering in his honour for family and friends will be held at the Circle H Ranch on Fri., May 21 at 1:30 p.m. We wish to extend our thanks to Dr. Demetrick and the day care nurses at the Williams Lake Hospital and to Dr. Main and the 100 Mile House Hospital and Home Support for their care and understanding. Dave passed away May 12, 2004. Survived by his loving wife Janice, his daughter Linda (Larry) and his son Kelly (Julie). He will be missed by his grandchildren Luke, Loranda, Lynsey, Scott, Karley, Kelsey and his brothers and sisters; Raymond (Velma), Donald (Wilma), George (Helen), Doug (Minnie), Mary (George), Ruth (Bill) and Linda (Jerry) and by his many nieces and nephews. At 100 Mile House on May 11, 2004. Predeceased by her husband Rudolph (Ralph) in 1973. Survived by children Clara, Gary and Bill; 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Family Celebration of Life held in 100 Mile House on May 15, 2004. Cremation at Kamloops on May 13, Interment of ashes to take place at Okanagan Falls in late June.

Shirley Winton passed away peacefully May 11, 2004 in 100 Mile Hospital at the age of 76. She is survived by her loving husband Roy and children Greg (Colleen); Joanne (Lloyd) Kilback and Sandy Hurly. She is also survived by her grandchildren Taffy, Carri, Kim, Kyle, Nikki, Matt and Tyler and two great-grandchildren Kelsey and Cole and sister-in-law Kay Stewart. Before their happy retirement to Bridge Lake in 1986, Shirley was for many years dedicated to the Girl Guide movement in Burnaby. Shorty, Mum, Nan was loved and will be greatly missed by all. Family service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation.

METCHETTE, Eric
Born Nov. 20, 1928 in Dublin, Ireland. Passed away peacefully at home in Kelowna, B.C. on May 8, 2004 surrounded by his loving family. A graduate of the Hibernian Marine School in Dublin, Ireland, at the age of 15 Eric participated in one of the last convoys of WWII. He served with the British Merchant Marine for ten years. Eric is survived by his wife Glenna, his children: Susan Bowen, 100 Mile House; Kimberley Reeves, West Vancouver, B.C.; Marylyn Needham, Kelowna, B.C.; and James (Jim) Metchette of West Vancouver; his grandchildren Kate and Bryan Dalrymple, Brendan and Hailey Reeves; and Alex and Paige Needham. The family wishes to thank all of the staff of the Palliative Team for their wonderful support. If family or friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross.
