I have come to the end of the road
and the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room
why cry for pain set free
miss me a little, but not for long
and not with your head bowed too low
remember the love that we have shared
miss me but let me go
for this is a journey
that we all must take
and each must go alone
it's all a part of the creator's plan
a step on the road to home
so when you are lonely and sick at heart
go to the loved ones we know
and bury your sorrows
in doing good deeds
miss me, but let me go

SANFORD, Beatrice Aileen Thursday, 19 Aug 2004
It is with deepest sadness we announce the passing of our Mother, Beatrice (Aileen) Sanford (nee Corbett) on Thurs., Aug. 19, 2004 after several years of declining health. Mom was born June 26, 1921; the middle child of Seward Corbett and Eva Streatch in Cook’s Brook, N.S. She married Albert Edgar Sanford on April 28, 1937 in Nova Scotia. The couple had seven children of their own and raised a foster child Ronald Dillman for 17 years. In August of 1959 she moved to Lac la Hache, B.C. with five of her own children and Ronnie, to join her husband, who was working in the logging industry. Earl, Freda, Ken, Larry, Aubrey, and Ronnie travelled with their Mother across Canada by train to make their home in B.C. The oldest daughter Eva was married and remained in Nova Scotia. Her youngest son Leonard was born here in July 1964. Her career in life was to struggle in hard times to raise her family and make ends meet, which she did lovingly and with no regret. She loved having her family around her and did so on many occasions. People were always welcomed at her door and she had a soft spot for the children. Hobbies came later in life for Mom; after the family was grown she joined a bowling league in 100 Mile House and a card club in Lac la Hache. Reading was also a passion for her. She is survived by Eva McMullin (Stanley), Lake Egmont, N.S.; Earl Sanford (Josie), 108 Mile Ranch, B.C.; Freda Meda (Dan), Lac la Hache; Ken Sanford (Helen), Lac la Hache; Larry Sanford (Marlene), Delta, B.C.; Aubrey Sanford (Vicki), Lac la Hache; Leonard Sanford (Tari), Lac la Hache and foster son Ronald Dillman, Dartmouth, N.S. Also by 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister Florence Jodrey, Middle Musquodoboit, N.S.; sister-in-laws Ellen Sanford, Williams Lake, B.C.; Margaret Zwicker, Cook’s Brook, N.S. and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Albert Sanford, her parents, sister Ruth Jodrey and grandson Albert McMullin. Mom’s last years were spent residing at Fischer Place in 100 Mile House. A Memorial Service was held on Tues., Aug. 24, 2004 at the Lac la Hache Community Hall. Many thanks to the staff of Fischer Place for the kindness and care given to Aileen over the years. Friends and family wishing to make a donation to Fischer Place may do so in Mom’s memory.
