Derek's Poem
"Weep not for me - for I sleep
in another home, in another place.
A home built not by hands but by lives
by events - from first we met.
We started a foundation built on Faith.
Faith in God, Christ and you and I.
The walls were formed over the years
by love thick enough to protect,
thin enough to allow love to enter.
The roof was God's hand overhead.
A stream trickling in - flooding out
was the stream of compassion and love.
Sunlight streams through windows stained by love.
In their view five tall trees stand,
surrounded by blooms.
By each we see the start
of other foundations.
Each of us here and now, build
for the future for eternity.
Build well.
Reverend Derek R. Stannard
