Giovanni Di Mambro
June 28, 1923 - March 14, 2010
Giovanni "John" Di Mambro left us unexpectedly March 14, 2010. He goes to join the love of his life, Dina, his wife of 53 years.
Born in Vallemaio, Italy, in 1923, John immigrated to Canada in 1959 to join his brother Francesco. He left everything behind, including a wife and three young children, to work for a new and better life. After two years of hard work and saving he was able to send for his family, reuniting with them in 1961 and settling in Louis Creek B.C. In 1971 John moved to Kamloops, joining the staff of School District 73, where he worked until retiring 17 years later. He was a dedicated protector of his family and a guiding force for us all.
John leaves behind a large and loving family, including daughters Anna (his angel), Lucia (Leo); son Antonio (Liz); grandchildren Shawn, Joanna (Rick), Michael (Erin), Stephanie (Randy), Seana, Jennifer (Steve), Rogan, Landon, and Tanner; great-grandchildren Liam, Alessandra, and Mason; sister-in-law Caterina; niece Maria (Richard); nephew Nick (Pam) and their families.
He is predeceased by his parents Lorenzo and Maria; wife Dina; son Aldino; brothers Dominico and Francesco; and son-in-law Lajos "Louis".
Con tanto amore, arrivederci.
Prayers will be recited at 7:00pm on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 635 Tranquille Rd.
Father Peter Hoan Nguyen will celebrate the Mass of the Christian Burial at 11:00am on Monday, March 22, 2010 at our Lady of Perpetual Help. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Mausoleum.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.
No formal ceremony will take place here, Klaus will be laid to rest in Toronto, Ontario.
Donations may be made to People in Motion in memory of Klaus.

Mark Kernaghan
February 14, 1962 - April 6, 2010
This notice is to advise friends of Mark Kernaghan of his sudden passing on Tuesday, April 6 2010.
He died in Kamloops, after a brief, but bravely fought battle with liver cancer. Mark was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan in 1962. He worked in the auto-body field for many years, starting at the age of seventeen. He was a proven carpenter, tile setter and much more, with expertise in many fields.
Mark was also an avid dancer and with his partner Carolyn, they traveled to many dance workshops where they learned a variety of dances. But it was West Coast Swing that was Mark's vocation. He did it with style and grace and a grin. They both were lucky enough, at Mark's suggestion, to teach dance in Kamloops and helped bring West Coast Swing to the town. Mark was very proud of that achievement.
Mark's auto-body career started in Nelson, even before he finished high school. Previous to Nelson, Mark completed all of his primary schooling in Princeton, B.C. where he lived the life of Huckleberry Finn, having an absolute ball growing up. His fishing and hunting exploits are legendary. His mother Rosemary taught school there and his father, Bryon Kernaghan was the Deputy Government Agent. Mark's high school education was completed in Nelson, B.C. where his parents were able to continue their chosen professions
It was in Nelson that Mark met his high school sweetheart, Heather Drake and they were married shortly after graduating. Things changed after a number of years and he met and married Veronica Swaine. Together they had Mark's greatest joy, a boy who they named Dawson.
At the time of his death Mark was living very happily with the love of his life, Carolyn Bays.
Mark was a good, honest person, never taking anything that wasn't earned, always told the truth and never hurt anyone. He was predeceased by his little sister Leslie Kernaghan, of Wasa, B.C., who died of brain cancer a few years previous. He is survived by his mother Rosemary McDowell (nee-Kernaghan) of Summerland B.C., his sister Shannon Kernaghan, of Delta B.C., his brother Kurt Kernagahan of Wasa B.C., his dad Bryon Kernaghan of Wasa B.C., his step-dad Sandy McDowell of Summerland B.C., his step mom Marie Kernaghan of Wasa B.C., his spouse Carolyn Bays of Kamloops B.C. and cousins, uncles, aunts and of course many friends.
If you knew Mark, you knew he was very much a person of value and high morals.
When you think of him, please don't think sad thoughts,
but smile and remember him the way he was.
Much love to Mark and to all who knew and respected him.
He knew how much he was loved.
His Family
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 10, 2010 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Drive. Following the service, Mark will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery.
