AGNES MERRY (nee Hegyi)
OCTOBER 31, 1924 - NOVEMBER 5, 2010
Our Dearest Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. Agnes was predeceased by her loving husband, George, sisters, brother, and parents. She is survived by her devoted children Betty-Ann, Linda (Allan), Frank (Chris), Ivan (Esther), her 12 wonderful grandchildren and their spouses, 17 dearly loved great-grandchildren, her brother Willie (Gladys), sisters Mary and Grace, good friend Donna, and sisters-in-law Betty (Ivan), Ruth, and May (Bob).
Linda’s Quote: Mom was the strength and backbone of our family and passed away with great courage and dignity, to be with the love of her life, “Dad”.
Frank’s Quote: Mom was a very special Angel here on Earth. Her loving, caring,
generous spirit and her devotion to her family and friends are treasured gifts for which we are truly grateful. We now have a very precious Guardian Angel keeping watch over us from Heaven.
Ivan’s Quotes: In loving memory of Mom who always put her entire family first. If you know her you would never leave her home hungry. She was an amazing mom who made excellent chicken noodle soup, cabbage rolls and raspberry jam. She’s the best.
At Mom’s request, a private family celebration of her life will be held at the Savona Community Hall on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 11:00 am. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in the Savona Cemetery.

Jean Gray
February 20, 1929 - November 15, 2010
Jean Gray, 81 years, of Kamloops, B.C. passed away on November 15th, 2010.
Jean was born in Epworth, England and immigrated to Canada in 1957 with her husband Alan and their two children Patricia and Christopher. The family settled in Red Deer Alberta and later moved to Vulcan and Grand Prairie, Fernie, Summerland and finally Oliver B.C. where they built their home. Jean and her husband operated a building supply store and other small businesses in Oliver for a number of years before retiring in the early 90’s. After the passing of her husband, Jean moved to Kamloops in 2003 to be closer to her daughter, her two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.
Jean was very involved in every community in which she lived. In Oliver, she belonged to the local chapter of the Soroptomist Foundation and in Kamloops she regularly volunteered at the seniors centre. Jean’s quick smile made her many friends at home and on her travels throughout Canada and abroad. Jean had a passion for gardening which she shared with her daughter and granddaughters.
Jean is survived by her brother Leslie (Marie) Foster, of Epworth, England, her son Christopher of Edmonton, daughter Patricia Cutler and son-in-law Raymond Visser, granddaughters Nadine (Luke) Hamilton and Jodi (Bradley) Plowe all of Kamloops. Her great-grandchildren, Erin and Quinn Plowe and Cole and Jane Hamilton will miss ‘Granny’ the most.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 20th at 11:00am at Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive with Chaplain Mary Widmer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Kamloops Hospice Association.

She is survived by her loving husband Thomas Martin, sons Paul Martin, Shayne (Brianna) Martin, and Spencer Martin, daughter Maggie Martin, all of Kamloops; mother Marie Smith; brothers Robert (Cheryl) Smith and Paul Smith.
Sharon was born in Wawa, Ontario in 1960 and moved to Kamloops in 1980 with her husband, mother and two brothers. Sharon’s true passion in life was being a mother. There was nothing that meant more to her than the happiness and health of her four children. Sharon’s laugh was contagious and her vibrant spirit brought life to every room.
Her presence will be greatly missed

FRANK SUERINK
March 31, 1955 - December 1, 2010
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Frank Suerink after a long valiant battle with cancer. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, sons Kaan and Theo. He will also never be forgotten by his loving partner Cathy and stepchildren Jeremy, Jennifer and Jessica. Also mourning their loss, his parents Theo and Jopie, brother Len (Courtney) and Paul (Susanne) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his mother Freekje (1979) and brother Robert (1974).
Many thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses who cared for him – we are truly grateful.

John A Rathwell
May 12, 1932 - December 1, 2010
Oldest son of Phillip and Rose Rathwell, born in Fairview, Alberta on May 12, 1932, “Big” John passed away in Kamloops Hospice on December 1, 2010 at age 78.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 Years, Gail; his children: Arlana and sons Wes and Kyle, Red Deer, Alberta; John B (Monna) and children Jonathan, Brianna, and Jordan of Innisfail, Alberta; JC (Barb) and son Cash of Kelowna, B.C.
He is also survived by other family members: Mel (Jeannine), Ron, Don, Howard, Paul, Myrna, Audrey, Marilyn, Gaila and their families.
He will be remembered by many people who are considered as part of our extended family.
He was predeceased by siblings; Beatrice, Anne and Arthur.
John was noted for success in various endeavours including oilfield drilling and engineering (including time in California and Turkey); Ultralight construction and school; family-operated performance & racing quarter horses; he retired to the Sorrento area in 1985 where he was able to pursue his love of quadding and fishing (both local lakes and offshore; Vancouver to Mexico).

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden but peaceful passing of Bev Gerow in Kamloops on Friday, December 3, 2010 at age 79.
She is survived by her husband Russ, daughter Debra, sons Steven and David, sister Fran and brother Tom, grandchildren Sarah, Avril, Niki, Daniel, and Jonathan, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Bev was born in Vancouver and lived in the Lower Mainland, on Vancouver Island, in Kelowna, and later in Kamloops.
Bev was a lovely artist, home decorator, and a great sewer. She was a great cook and could make a meal out of next to nothing. She had a great sense of humour. She loved all animals and always had pets. She enjoyed watching and feeding the wild birds in her backyard. She loved the outdoors and organic gardening. She liked shopping for produce at the local farmer’s market.

Loreen “Laurie” Mary Brownlee
April 16, 1943 - December 5, 2010
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their wonderful mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and dear friend Loreen “Laurie” Mary Brownlee. Laurie passed away at the age of 67 on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Kamloops Royal Inland Hospital from a very sudden and short battle with cancer.
She is survived by her loving mother Rose Rivard, her sister Bernice (Hugh) Westen, her two sons Kelly (Tammy) Brownlee and Shane (Deanne) Brownlee, her four granddaughters Rebecca & Jesse Frazier, and Jaiden & Sidney Brownlee; niece Melinda, nephew Brad, and her aunts and uncles.
She was predeceased by her sister Frances, father Peter and her stepfather Louis..
Laurie was born in Kelowna B.C. in 1943. As a teenager she moved to Alberta and later returned to Kamloops in 1980 to be closer to family and to continue raising her two sons. Laurie was always full of life and spirit. She loved gardening and her dog Penny. She was an extremely hard worker all of her life, was forever a nurturer and a good friend to many.
Her presence will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at RIH for their considerate and empathetic care,
A Memorial Service in Laurie’s honour will be announced to follow in the spring.
