Ajit Kaur Bains
August 10, 1928 - September 14, 2010
It is with great sadness that we announce that our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ajit Kaur Bains of Kamloops, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at the age of 82 years.
Ajit was born on Aug. 10, 1928, in Dhukon, India as part of a family of 6. She is survived by her brother Ajaib Singh Holait (Gurbachan Kaur), sister Pritam Kaur Gill (Jarnail Singh) and sister Naseeb Kaur Mann (Sohan Singh). She is predeceased by her brothers Jagat Singh Holait and Sohan Singh Holait and her husband of forty-three years, Sohan Singh Bains.
She married Sohan Singh Bains of Mahilpur, India in 1948. Ajit arrived in Kamloops in 1980 and has made this her home since. Ajit was loved by her eight children Barinder Kaur (Gian), Rajbinder Kaur (Late Harchet), Late Harinder Singh (Sukhdeep), Kumlinder Kaur (Amrik), Sukhwinder Singh (Jaspal), Jaswinder Kaur (Sarabjit), Sukhjinder Kaur (Sikander) and Chanchal (Jaswinder). She was also dearly loved by and now left with her special memories are her twenty-five grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren all of whom would consider her, with her loving nurturing nature, no less than their mother. She will be dearly missed by all family and friends.

MARILYN BENSON
January 1, 1937 – September 13, 2010
Marilyn Benson of Kamloops passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010 at the age of 73 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Harold “Hal” Benson; sons Rick (Sheila) Benson of Harrison Hot Springs, Randy (Sandra) Benson of Kamloops, Ron (Wendy) Benson of Chilliwack, and Brian (Jennifer) Benson of Lacombe, Alberta; and daughter Brenda (Angelo) Carusi of Kamloops; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and ten brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by her Dad, Raymond Victor Finch & her Mom, Rose Anne (nee Waite) Finch.
Marilyn was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and at a young age moved with her family to Vancouver B.C. and later to Tintagel B.C., where she met and married Hal, the love of her life, on June 23, 1954. For 30 years they remained in Tintagel where they raised their five children. In 1981, they moved south where they spent their time between Chase and Kamloops. Marilyn was a hard worker and was dearly loved by all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1985 Curlew Road, Kamloops B.C. at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 18, 2010.

CONNIE LOUISE WAHN (nee BIDDELL)
April 1, 1920-December 24, 2010
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother at Overlander Extended Care Hospital in Kamloops, B.C. on December 24, 2010.
Connie was predeceased by her parents, Cecil and Elizabeth, her brother Francis ("Bud") and Ed, her husband of 57 years. Surviving her are her five children: Mike (Yohanna) of Winnipeg, Pat (Lori) of 100 Mile House, Nancy (Larry) of Kamloops, Dave (Anne) of Nelson and Judy (Ted) of Sooke, BC; her brother Ken (Betty) of Medicine Hat, AB, her grandchildren Eric, Graeme, Leah (Martin), Anna (Daniel), Veda (David) and Niko, her many grand-dogs & grand-cats, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Connie was born and raised in Regina. During the war, she trained as a nurse and was posted overseas as a member of the armed forces medical unit. She cared for some of the liberated POWs from Belsen camp. After returning, she met and married Ed and they settled in Saskatoon, subsequently raising their family of five. On Ed's retirement, they moved to B.C. where they lived in Fairmont, Nelson, and Kelowna and, after Ed's death, Connie came to Kamloops, residing at Berwick and later Overlander.
Connie was fortunate to live a long and active life. She was fond of sports, including tennis, swimming, hiking and golf, and participated in these into her late seventies. She was also incredibly artistic in various fabric arts, becoming adept at quilting, weaving, sewing, knitting and upholstery. She enjoyed photography, especially while hiking or sailing at the cabin.
Connie was the cornerstone of the family, keeping up with the news of her extended family and keeping everyone connected even when we were geographically distant.
Many thanks to all the staff at Evergreen Wing of Overlander, who helped make our mother happy and content in her last years. You are true angels!
We love you Mum, and we will miss you!

Aldo Pullano
September 21, 1958 – December 24, 2010
It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of a wonderful and caring Dad, Brother, Uncle and Friend, Aldo Pullano on December 24th, 2010 in the ICU at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, B.C. at the young age of 52.
Aldo was born on September 21, 1958 in New Hazleton, B.C. to Rosaria and Nicola Pullano and was the last of 5 children.
He was predeceased by his parents, Rosaria and Nicola, brother Pietro, brothers in-law Terry Gallis and Giovanni Caferra and nephew in-law Michael Valachy.
Left to cherish his memory is his adoring daughter Brittany (Mike Giesbrecht), his brother Sam (June) Pullano, sisters Anna Caferra, Maria (Victor) Pagnotta and Ada Gallis; nieces, Gina Valachy and Amanda Gallis, nephews, Gaetano (Tammi) Caferra, Nick (Cheryl) Pullano, Tony (Sapphire) Pullano and Tyler (Sara) Gallis as well as many great nieces and nephews and his very special friend Susan.
Aldo enjoyed life. He loved working outdoors with his stucco company, his vendor carts and during the month of December he would help out delivering parcels for Purolator. He had some memorable stories to tell us about his route, as he thought he was Santa Claus.
The family would like to thank the Paramedics with the B.C. Ambulance service, the Rescue Crew with the Kamloops Fire Department and RCMP Officers who were on the scene of the accident, as well as a very special thank you to Dr. Schmidt and the amazing caring nurses in the ICU who cared for Aldo.
There will be a viewing between 4 – 6 pm on Wednesday, December 29th, 2010 at the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive, Kamloops. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 30th, 2010 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 635 Tranquille Road, Kamloops, B.C. Following the service there will be a Celebration of Aldo’s Life in the Parish Center, which is located next door to the church.

Hazel Tymo
July 17, 1924 - December 30, 2010
Hazel Evelyn Tymo of Pitt Meadows passed into the presence of the Lord on December 30, 2010 at 86 years of age.
She is survived by her daughters Della (Vic) St.Laurent of Swan Hills, Alberta, Barb (Jim) Waterhouse of Pitt Meadows, and Cheryl (Pat) Miner of Clearwater, BC; grandchildren Courtney Waterhouse, Shawn St. Laurent, Crystal (Wayne) Adamek, Brooke and Brandon Miner; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Predeceased by her loving husband William Tymo (1993).
Hazel was born in Pathlow, Saskatchewan on July 17, 1924. She lived in Kamloops for over 50 years before moving to Pitt Meadows in 2007. Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother and dear friend. She was a quiet but strong woman who loved life and cared deeply for her family and friends. She loved quilting and many memories were formed with each stitch she made.
She also loved camping, fishing, travelling and gardening. Hazel was a long-standing member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Excelsior Rebekah Lodge #23.
She will be greatly missed.

The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Drive.
Following the service, Hazel will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery.

Evelyn "Blondie" Terry
June 11, 1923 - December 29, 2010
Evelyn “Blondie” Norma Terry passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Kamloops Seniors Village, with family by her side, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Blondie is survived by sisters Florence (Les) Miller and Marion Wiese, children Ryvonne (Greg) Fenrick, Warren (Darlene) Terry, and Tanda (Bradley) Wynn, and grandchildren Dallas (Laura), Desiray (Wesley), Tyson (Erin), Tannis, Denver and Rachel.
She was predeceased by parents Adolph and Emma Shep, husband Kenneth Terry, brother Leslie Shep, and sister Norma Shep.
Blondie was born the oldest of five children on June 11, 1923 in Spruce Grove, Alberta. She was a very intelligent woman who attended college and began her career as a bookkeeper. During WWII she met and married her husband of 55 years, Kenneth Benjamin Terry. In 1950 they fell in love with Kamloops while Ken played for the Kamloops Elks hockey team, and so they chose to raise their family here. Blondie and Ken owned the first pool hall on Tranquille before owning the local Dairy Queen.
In her younger years she loved to curl, was the Commissioner for the Girl Guides and then a long time member of the Trefoil Guild. After Ken retired they spent their summers in the Trailer on Tunkwa Lake where she enjoyed fishing and watching her beloved birds. Blondie had a beautiful singing voice and was a member of the St. George’s Church Choir and the Happy Chorister’s Choir for numerous years. She also spent a great deal of time knitting baby clothes for the Hospital Auxiliary and always has a fondness for, “Little Ones.”
Blondie will be remembered as a kind hearted, compassionate woman who showed outstanding strength and dignity in her last years. She will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
“Be like the bird in flight…pausing a while on boughs too slight, feels them give way beneath her, yet sings knowing yet, that she has wings.”

Viewing will take place from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in the Rosewood Room at Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive.
A Celebration of Blondie’s life will take at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in St. George’s Anglican Church, 308 Royal Ave., with Reverend Isabel Healy-Morrow officiating. Following the service, Blondie will be laid to rest beside her loving husband at Hillside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in Blondie’s honour to the Alzheimer Society of B.C., 300 - 828 West 8th Ave. Vancouver, B.C. V5Z 1E2.
