ANDERSON - John Gerald (Jerry) passed away on Friday, October 13, 2000 at the age of 66 years. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son Jeff and wife Nancy, grandchildren Jenelle and Sterling; daughter Lori (Potts) and husband Tom, grandchildren Nigel and Skyler, as well as his youngest son Darin; stepsons, Sheldon, Rick and David Wielenga and their children. He is also survived by his former wife Joan; brothers Peter, Jim and Tom; sisters Helen, Rosemary, Jeanette, Patsy and Franie. He is predeceased by son Alyn Carey, mother Rose, father James, brother George, stepmother Anne, sister Betty and sister Annie. He will be sadly missed by many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel at 11969 - 216th St., Maple Ridge at 1:00 p.m. October 21, 2000. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Liver Foundation.

CLARKE - Alfred, born January 5th, 1941 in Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away suddenly October 18th, 2000 at the age of 59, in Coquitlam. He will be missed by his loving wife Chris, his son Randy (Dina), daughter Terri Ann, grandchildren Sarah and Adam, brothers Raymond and Bruce, sisters Carolyn and Sharon, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. He was an educator for 35 years in the Coquitlam School District and was active in the C.T.A. for many years; in addition he was an elder, teacher, camp director and song leader for many years in the Church of Christ Community. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who took pleasure in giving to others and he will be missed and lovingly remembered. The funeral will be held at the Church of Christ, 6970 Oak St., Vancouver at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 21st. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Parkinson's Disease Assoc.

DEBOER - Jan Francies (Frank) died suddenly on October 14, 2000 in Vancouver. Born in Holland September 2, 1934. Predeceased by parents Paulina and Lykele deBoer and sisters Maria and Mathilda. Survived by daughter Paula and son John and granddaughter Lisa. With all forgiven and so much left to do we will miss you Dad and Grampa. FIELD - Mary Nellie, born August 23, 1916, in Coquitlam, B.C., passed away October 8th, 2000 at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Predeceased by her husband of 60 years, William Young Field in 1995. She is survived by her son William J. (Betty) Groundbirch, BC; daughter Patricia (Jerry) Winters, Nanaimo, B.C.; grandchildren Doug, Dawn, Debra, Gordon, Mary, Anne, and 8 great-grandchildren. Mary was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #2 for over 50 years and a past President of the Ladies Auxiliary to Pacific Command of the Royal Canadian Legion. A memorial service will be held November 6, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #2, 64 8th Street, New Westminster, B.C. FIELD - Stephen Edward, 93 years, born August 20, 1907, died October 13, 2000. Lifetime resident of Vancouver. Steam engineer for Vancouver School Board including Maple Grove and Killarney. He enjoyed photography, the seawall and coastal B.C. He attended the SDA Church. Predeceased by brothers Art (1993) and Fred (1997) and survived by sister Alice. FINORA - John C. passed away October 16, 2000. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. John was born and raised in Guelph, Ontario and resided in Vancouver since 1974. He worked for B.C. Tel (Telus) for the past 20 years, and always enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow employees. Many thanks to all those who have offered support and help. At John's request there will be no service. FISH - Lois Isabel (nee Akerman), September 4th, 1948 - October 18th, 2000. Predeceased by mother Gwen, father Vic, and brother Ed. Will be sadly missed by loving husband, Gary; son Nathan; daughter Dallas and partner Angela Beaudin, grandsons Chase and Logan; sister Vicki MacLean and family; close friend Muriel Robertson; brother David; and specials friends Terry and Francine Severs, Bob and Marilyn and their families; Gary's family in New Zealand and Italy, and special friends in New Zealand Trish and Ian and Pam and Len. For the past few years Lois was in real estate in South Delta. For the first year with her friend Christina Watts and for the last 2 years with her business partner and dear friend Teri Steele. Lois proved buying and selling homes can be as much fun as everything else she did. Lois died surrounded by love. KRIEGER - Ann (Kohlberg), born March 15, 1919 in Newark, New Jersey, died peacefully in her sleep on October 18, 2000. Raised in New York City, Ann attended the Savage School of Physical Education and James Madison University before moving to San Francisco in 1942. She moved to Vancouver in 1949, where she devoted her life to her children and volunteer work in her community. She was active in the VGH Women's Auxiliary and the Jewish Historical Society. The University of British Columbia's Crane library honoured Ann as Volunteer of the Year in recognition of three decades of service as a reader for blind students. A dancer in her youth, Ann endowed a scholarship for young ballet students at the Vancouver Academy of Music. She loved the symphony, art galleries, poetry and all things aesthetic. Small things of beauty gave her joy and made her a gifted decorator. Many people have lost a unique friend who gave unconditionally. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years. Edgar. She was a loving mother to daughter Dale Miller (Gordon), and sons Andy, Kit (Helena) and Bob; and a doting grandmother to Rachel, Nina, Daniel and Sasha. No service or flowers by request. KUHN - Ferne Kuhn (nee Whitley) passed away surrounded by her family Tuesday morning, October 17th, 2000 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 7th, 1942 in Penticton. She will forever live in the hearts of husband Ken, her daughters Melissa and Denyse, her brother Dale, family daycare, and the many others she touched in her special loving way. She joined in heaven her mother Audrey Graitson, her brother Milton Whitley, and her fathers Thomas Whitley and Denice Graitson.
