POTTER - Marie Augustine, born January 18, 1920 in England, died peacefully October 16, 2000 with her family at her side. Marie is survived by her children Ian (Brenda), North Carolina, Nick (Carol Ann), Coquitlam, Pamela (Larry), Kamloops, Christine (Craig), Quadra Island, grandchildren, Sean (Kristy), Canmore, Christopher (Beth), Calgary, Gregory, Coquitlam, Jason, Coquitlam, Mathew, Kamloops, Adam, Edmonton, and great-granddaughter Sydney, Calgary. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years. Marie was a war bride who travelled to Canada with her young son and husband settling in Toronto. Marie will be missed and fondly remembered as a wonderful cook, gardener and homemaker. Marie's family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses of Evergreen Residence who kindly cared for Marie. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 21st at 3 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 2725 Lonsdale Ave., North Vancouver followed by a tea at 2800 Chesterfield Ave., North Vancouver from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Agency.

PURSSELL - Winifred died suddenly and peacefully October 15, 2000 in Vancouver, aged 81 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Norman, one son, Roy (Lori) and two daughters, Tanis and Eileen (Randy), six grandchildren, Andrew, Elizabeth, David, Duncan, Kaela, Liam, one sister, Eileen Walton and two brothers Jack and Roland Hamon from England. Win was an incredibly loving and caring wife and mother. She was the most loyal and devoted friend. A kindred spirit to her grandchildren, she found fascination and delight in everyday life. She had a profound love of nature and many of her happiest times were spent outdoors in activities that ranged from working in her garden to wilderness adventures. She will be remembered for her caring and generous nature that touched everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed. A celebration of Win's life will take place at Brock House, 3875 Point Grey Road, Vancouver, B.C. on Sunday, October 22, 2000 at 12:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring photos and written memories of Win to place in a "memory basket".In lieu of flowers, donations to the Nature Trust of B.C., Suite 260 - 1000 Roosevelt Crescent, North Vancouver, B.C. ROGERS - Mary Irene Born July 29, 1922 in Chatham, New Brunswick. Passed away October 18, 2000 at St. Vincent's Hospital, Vancouver, British Columbia. Predeceased by her parents Al and Vida and her brother Willard and her son Lawrence. Survived by her loving husband Lloyd and her children, James (Penny), Maureen (Tom), Paul, John (Carmie), Steve (Cathy), Gwen, Joe (Rose), Bill (Wendy), Ed (Julie), Yvette (Ted), Vida, Doug (Karen) and Ron (Marie). She is also survived by many relatives in New Brunswick and by twenty-five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mary dedicated her life to her husband, her family, her church, and her community. Mary was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Mary was a member of the Catholic Women's League, a Eurcharist Minister, a member of the O.L.P.H. Parish Council and was a Visitor of The Sick. Mary volunteered for several organizations including: Meals on Wheels, St. Vincent's Extended Care and U.B.C. Extended Care. Mary touched the lives of all those whom she came in contact with and will be remembered as someone who always had a kind word for everyone. Her family and friends will dearly miss her. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday October 24, 2000 at 10 am with Father D. Pankhurst as Celebrant, at O.L.P.H. church at 10th Avenue and Crown Street in Vancouver, with prayers to take place at O.L.P.H. at 7:30 pm, Monday October 23, 2000. A celebration of Mary's life is to take place in the church hall immediately following her funeral mass. In charge of funeral arrangements are Kearney Funeral Directors. Burial at Ocean View Cemetery, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby. Donations in her memory may be made to the Lloyd & Mary Rogers Family Charitable Foundation, c/o John Rogers, Davis & Company, 2800 Park Place, 666 Burrard Street, Vancouver, B.C. V6C 2Z7. SMITH - William Donald Hugh, beloved father of Dr. Thomas Donald Benson Smith, passed away peacefully at his home in Kelowna on October 17th, 2000 at the age of 91 years. He was predeceased by his loving wives Solveig Marie Smith, who was taken from us October 1982 and Florence Mary Smith who passed on in November 1999; sister Helen M. Smith, Lillian E.M. Atkinson, Muriel Livesay, Edna Smith, brother-in-law Lyle Atkinson, Joseph Livesay, John F. Benson, Ron Luke; sisters-in-law Marie Benson and Bibbi Luke. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his son Dr. T. Donald B. Smith; his former wife Bonnie Margaret Fry-Smith and his three grandchildren Todd Donald Robert Smith, Gregory Hamilton Fraser Smith and Tiffany Christina Margaret Smith and stepchildren Lillian Meed, Marion Buchanan, Franklin Nichols, Fay Hamilton, Donald Nicholas and Allan S. Nichols. Also his memory will be cherished by Karri Heywood, Karissa and Ryan, Crystal and Inje; nephews Eric and Paul Benson, Dr. Thomas G. Livesay; niece Betty Ann St. Louis and many longtime friends. Born of Scottish-Canadian ancestry in Napanee, Ontario, worked for 39 years for Canadian General Electric and happly has been retired since 1970. Loyal and devoted family man, living for the last several years in West Vancouver, B.C. and most recently in Kelowna, B.C. Masonic affiliation Lodge #675 Peterboro, Ontario and A & A Scotish Rite as well as elder of United Church in Peterboro, Ontario. STONE - E. Burton (Burt) died at Cariboo Lodge in Williams Lake on October 17, 2000. Born September 9, 1908 - Davidson, Saskatchewan. He will be greatly missed by daughter Myra (Mike Royal) and grandchildren Matthew and Julie. "A dear and precious loved one has been welcomed into the very presence of God." Burt was a soft spoken man with a wonderful sense of humour. He loved to play crib - most often the winner. Burt will be missed! WOOLDRIDGE - Ted, born June 16, 1946, passed away suddenly at home October 12, 2000.
